A Princess Found.

I know I haven't updated in a long time, but I just wanted to share this great book I read over spring break. It is A Princess Found.

Check it out. Once you open it, you won't put the book down. It is so good.

Here is bit about the book:

Sarah Culberson was adopted one year after her birth by a loving, white, West Virginian couple and was raised in the United States with little knowledge of her ancestry. Though raised in a loving family, Sarah wanted to know more about the birth parents that had given her up. In 2004, she hired a private investigator to track down her biological parents. When she began her search, she never imagined what she would discover or where that information would lead her: she was related to African royalty, a ruling Mende family in Sierra Leone and that she is considered a Mahaloi, the status like a princess. What followed was an unforgettably emotional journey of discovery of herself, a father she never knew, and the spirit of a war-torn nation. A Princess Found is a powerful, intimate revelation of her quest across the world to learn of the chiefdom she could one day call her own.

Here is Sarah Culberson (the author) telling a little bit of her story:

Paige.

Here is an adorable picture of Paige in her new coat and hat that my parents gave her for Christmas...

One of my 4th graders!

One of my students, Manasseh, does amazing Michael Jackson impersonations. He is an incredible dancer--especially for 9 years old!

Isn't he a phenomenal dancer!?

I just found out from Manasseh that his sister is the girl in the video. I teach both of them.

This is our mission to the moon...

My Mymy

This past weekend we kept little Mymy while her parents went to see U2 in Chicago and happened to meet Bono and all of U2....

Here is a pic of me and Mya as we were leaving the St. Louis Art Festival in downtown Clayton. We loved it and had tons of fun.

Walter and I felt so special and honored to care for her for the weekend. More pics to come!

Our Red Medallion Duvet Set...

Suite dreams. Gorgeous medallion motif draws its inspiration from the designs of the Ottoman Empire of the 16th century, with red showcased as the significant color of the period. (Made in Turkey.)

I love this one because Solomon is running out from under the bed!

I have been eyeing this bedding for quite some time. I was excited to see it go on sale today. It was so fun to get new bedding because we haven't bought bedding since we first got married (3 years ago) and surprisingly our bedding we registered for didn't hold up as well as we thought it would. It was quite beat up. So this was a fun and exciting purchase for me and of course I couldn't pass up the great deal (30% off).

PS: I wish we could paint our walls. Oh, that will be the fun in buying a house one day (post-seminary).

New Bedding!

I am so excited I just got this bedding on sale at World Market for $67! The whole set. I love it!
I will post pics of our bedroom soon!

Interesting...
