yesterday after school i figured out that i missed a huge opportunity to watch asian's best high jumpers in action. Enzer Asian All-star championships was held on 28th. Imagine I had a video camera(i just don't have it!), going down to CCK stadium and filming how the jumpers did their jumps.

There was a change in gameplay for me in the prelims results. Originally my plan was to use chinese's B3 score to replace physics's, because I didn't have enough time to revise for it at all. It was a 180 deg turnover, because I had a A2 for physics. OH man...If I knew i could hit a 70 with such hurried preparation, i would've spend just a few more hours studying the subject. Nevertheless, I was hit by the Social Studies results. I managed only a 23/50.
I hoped my A-maths will get me a A2. I hit a 45/80 for the first paper, so i have to get 67/80 to pull off a A2 overall. I have confidence. Yah!
I observed and thought for a while in class. Why is it that everyone in the class is doing so badly in SS only after the mid-yr exams? This is questionable. The humanities HOD should think abt it. I know they cannot really do much to help but moderation of the marks will be good though. I just don't get it. No matter how hard i tried to write well, the marks were just below average. It's not that I changed the way i write, nor is it that i didn't understand the different topics in SS. Now I only hope that I can get over this and move on.
This is fate. I can't change it.

I seriously suspect the experience of the teacher who marked our structured-essay questions. I noticed on Adeline's paper, there were comments like, "Not linked" or something. I saw two of the same comments on a single question, and is striked off. I looked at Finian's paper, it was also the same. Have you seen a marker writing a comment and striking it off? Not on a single student's paper only. Obviously the marker does not understand the marking scheme, or prolly she doesn't know how a perfectly well-written answer looks like. Yeah this marker of our SS paper differed slightly from the strict Miss Leong. This time the marker simply gives you the red ink when she spots a small bit of inacurracy, broken links, and unsupported examples. I've seen many comments like "Not well-supported" and "not well-explained". This is only a 1hr30mins paper ok!? You think we're writing a real essay? We are doing the questions based on our knowledge, no english writing skills."Not well-supported" and "not well-explained" doesn't mean that it is not " and not ". If the whole of 4e1 took the exams and none scored more than 10 marks for any of the 12 or 13marks questions, will other class do well? If really it is the latter, then the marker is biased against the "top" class.

Now I'm leaving behind everything. I'm preparing for the big O's. 5 weeks is all i got. Critical. I will learn my mistake of revising struggling at the last moment.

Yawnzz.. I slept so much, because I played too much this weekend ! I really deserved some rest and games after the tiring prelim exams. -phew!-
I played and slept and " and ".Downloaded Dogdeball from the net. It was a whooping 829mb and i was like -.-" when it just started at a low speed. But then the speed picked up and the highest I saw was 80 kbps :)

Gd pts of being a pirate:

1. Can watch movies for free(unless u count the electricity used to on the comp to d/l the movie from the net)
2. Free music
3. Can get most of the media that you can't find in stores; like old songs, exclusive shows

Bad pts:

1. Each movie takes up at least 700mb of disk space, for me in this case.
2.Minor risk of getting caught.

Ah.. better stop here about piracy, in case Bill Gates is standing behind all the while?!?!

High Jump:

If you check Stefan Holm's website, you will find out a shocking fact. He has won every competition he went to, including the Athens Olympics. Great isn't he? Just like a real superman in the high jump world.

Studies:

I figured I still can't get rid of my habit of doing things at the last minute. Any solns to help me?
And kindly help me think of a way to make me endure the hours sitting in my room revising my work. My butt just can't stick to the seat!

Hear this. I played a game called Ask Guru Joe in miniclips.com. The game is just a kinda of divination game, you just ask a yes-no qn and the guru will reply.

I typed afew kinds of questions, then I typed the following questions

1. Can I get into ACJC?
*The answer it gave was "The outlook is grim"

2. Can I get into JJC?
* "The arrow points to...yes"

3. Can I get into HCJC?
* Guess what the answer was? "In your dreams"

If you ask me what is the best movie of the year now, I'll firmly say it's the one filmed in the airport-The Terminal. I am so touched by the movie. Everything in it is so well connected and it really puts me into the shoes of the main character acted by Tom Hanks.

New update on high jump:

I emailed US high jumper Matt Hemingway who won a silver at the Athens Olympics and he replied my mail! Now I'm am deciding what to write to another US national high jumper, Jamie Nieto. This is so cool. I'm actually talking to celebrities of the sports world !(if not in their respective countries)

I couldn't find all those practical test papers i did in the past. Only relied on my sis's prelims practical test to revise..Suay..

Bad start for prelims... My behaviour made myself more nerve-wrecking. First day for prelims, the examination was @ 8.00 am sharp. I thought I simply need to reach school before 8am, but I didn't take notice the instruction given at the back page of the green exam schedule sheet. Shit.. Second day-today I took a bus which i waited very long for to school. I knew the bus will reach school merely before the morning assembly or worse after the time(after 4 years of taking e same bus, i knew i was trying my luck early in the morning)

Then in the parade sq Mr Charlie T came to my class to search for the one who didn't take the NAPFA test. Me la..who else.. He approached me and told me the time, which is on this friday, right in the middle of my prelims! Mr Tan asked for my 2.4km run/walk timing and i told him nonchalantly, 12mins. Gotcha! I have never run a 12min before, and the closest was only 12min 31sec hehe......

C'mon! I haven't did any muscle-toning exercises since b4 the mid-year exams. All these months the toughest thing i did was playing badminton for full 3hrs with zhao qing and co. My muscles all go jelly-like liao...Pull-ups? I'll just hang as long as i can up at the bar. Other things still can pass with a C.My fitness level is at the declining stage

P.S: Rach don't laugh @ me if i can't do a single pull-up lol....

I got a new connection line on friday! 1500kbps, wireless network in my house! 2 PCs, 2 laptops in action. I had this weird sight of life this week, just before the prelims... My mind just can't seems to settle down well for any work... Maybe I wasn't interested in some of the subjects or perhaps I wasn't used to get so worked up to study... I was still fine in the beginning of the week, when I was studying really fine for my Chemistry.
