Springtime snowdrops

I know snowdrops are often thought of as winter flowers but I always think as them as the herald of spring.

I love this stamp by personal impressions and I stamped it on a kraft card using Versafine ink. I coloured with Lyra pencils, love how the oil in them not only blends well but has a shine to it.

The sentiment I can't remember where its from and it doesn't say on the block , but I thought the clean lines of the font fit perfectly with the clean and simple look.

I know its flowers but think this would make a great card for a guy.

Baby girl welcome

I struggle with pink cards so thought I'd make a baby card.
I love this sugar nellie stamp, stamped in versamark and embossed with moonglow imperial crown purple gold on white pearlised card, then fussy cut and coloured with a selection of pink promarkers ( not sure why they look purple) that coordinate with the papers used.

Colours used fresh blossom, blossom, peony, pink carnation, tropical pink.

Papers are polka dots scrap from think a magazine freebie, gingham freebie from bird's house. Ribbon white satin from stash and a self tied bow.

The sentiment is from the darkroom again stamped on white pearlised card and embossed with the same moonglow powder pearls added to the corners.

By the light of the silvery moon

A birthday card suitable for a man, or girl that loves owls.

Love this Aurora wings image steam punk owl, coloured with promarkers in grey shades. I fussy cut the owl and had purposefully printed him so his wings would slightly overlap the edges of the card.

I decided to keep to monochrome and thought it would look good if the owl had a full moon behind him.

I tried different cards and vellum and decided on this mat silver card, enough shine but not full on. I die cut a plain circle and added to the upper of a black base card, then used sticky pads of different thicknesses to attach the owl adding to the 3D effect of him flying towards you.

The sentiment is Britannia dies and uses the same mat silver card. it is framed top and bottom with white and black satin ribbon the black ribbon is recycled from a knitted dress the loops that would hold it to the hanger but always seem to poke from the neckline when not wanted.

I think I might be getting the hang of Clean and Simple.

My first AI stamps

I saw AI stamps on Amazon and immediately loved the dry sense of humour portrayed in their sentiments and how well they fit the images.Oops starting to waffle ...quick put a stop to that!

Images coloured with promarkers and fussy cut, then stuck to white base card. I know I could stamp directly but even adding an inner to my cards ,I don't like how the promarkers bleed through.
The sentiment comes with this set and I stamped on a scalloped die cut circle, with versafine ink and added the cute bee that also comes in the set, then coloured again with promarkers.

I added extra interest by drawing around the scalloped edge with 2 different sakura gel pens which I also used to add a faux stitched border with the same 2 pens. Lots of white space really focuses on the fun image.

Springtime shaker

Hi all hope the weather is being kind to you.                                                                                                    I wanted to make a sunshine spring card so used this cute little bee from Art Impressions .
He is coloured with promarkers after being stamped with memento ink.
I added interest to the card by making a shaker card with a pre-cut tri-fold card. I used an x-cut scallop die to frame the appature which I double layered with acetate adding conftti butterflies and flowers between the layers.

The finished card is quite simple but fun  well I think so anyway and it will make a different kind of Easter card.

A golden anniversay

Simple card using a gold pearlised card base.

I first created a background by hand drawing/embossing a heart as all the dies I decided upon had sold out , valentines day I guess.

I stamped the champagne flute twice with versamark and embossed them with pearl moon-glow powder.I then fussy cut them out.I then stamped the flutes again using stazon twice on bright gold mirricard and twice on dark gold mirricard. I fussy cut the bows only out on the gold cards, on the bright gold i trimmed off the shadow bits of the bows so when overlaid on the dark gold a 3D effect was achieved.
I stuck the dark gold to the flutes and then stuck the bright gold to the dark gold.I used liquid pearls to add the strands of pearls on the images .

I then added these to the embossed heart using sticky pads to the farthest left to give the impression that it is stood in front of the other glass. I added 3 roses yellow of course and peel-off sentiment and number 50.

Inside I collected facts such as events of the day the top 10 on the couples anniversary date and printed them to add a little interest or a trip down memory lane, Clean and simple on the outside with an interesting centre.

Inspirational words

The daily maker  30 day colouring challenge is great as Kathy show so many different techniques to inspire. I decided to have a go at one of them and made this really quick card , quick if you don't count drying time.
I used tombow markers and a water pen and a piece of silicon baking parchment.
Scribble pen onto the mat and add water from the pen or just drop spots of water onto the pen.
Take card and dip into the wetted pen  and leave to dry.

I added a stamp from Lily of the valley once the pen had dried and embossed with black sparkle powder.
Card done.

Simply pink butterflies

Inspiration from a card on 'Outside the box'.
I used Moon-glow mica inks in different pink mixes( most have 2 tones so show other colours too when the light catches them ) and splodge painted a strip of white card. I added a trio of spiral paperclips to the wet surface and some rock salt and left to dry.
I removed the salt and paperclips and cut 2 strips with wavy sides before applying to a white base card.

I used a memory Box die Vivienne butterfly and cut out 3 in white card which I stuck at angles to the gap I left between the wavy lines.

I don't normally do pink but in small amounts like this with the shine it has and sparkle from the pigments inks I can cope with pink and might do similar cards with different coloured inks.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but the butterflies are only attached by their bodies so the wings stand proud and floaty off the card.

Kitty gift

A birthday card for a cat lover.

I used a lily of the valley image coloured with promarkers on white card and pricked a border around the edge. I mounted this on coordinating dotty patterned paper magazine freebie.

The cross ribbon scalloped pattern is also a magazine frebbie and the ribbon is recycled, from my mum I have her well trained in collecting pretty recyclable bits from cards she receives.

The base paper is a forever friends paper but again the colours work so well. The tag is lily of the valley.

hoppy wishes

I recently treated myself to some mini stamps from LOTV and loved this bunny so much I couldn't wait to ink it up.

I decided to keep the card simple and thought it would be great as a 'Hoppy wishes' card or even an Easter card which is looming on the horizon less than 6 weeks away.

I coloured the images with promarkers and these fun carrots come on the sheet too so I decided to make a feature of them too all on a yellow base card .

I love how vibrant the colours look and it just makes me think of the warmer spring days to come (soon please).

For a VW camper van owner

My sister and her partner have a vw camper van that they use to go away for weekends in, so as they refurbished it and spent many hours doing so I decided it would be appropriate for using on his birthday card.

I took my inspiration from the trio stamps by lily of the valley and hand drew the different elements on die cut circles and coloured them in with promarkers.

The paper I used for backing is a freebie from birdhouse and the sentiment is one of the stamps from one of  trio sets from lily of the valley which I die cut ( not very well think I need more practice) with the overhanging letters outside the circle area.

Oops! just realised i didn't actually enter my card into any of the challenges i posted and that's the 2nd time I've done the same thing not sure whats going on in my head.

Another try at CAS

I decided to  give clean and simple another go using this funky kits sassy girl by saturated canary, that I had coloured in with promarkers ages ago.

I used a coordinating piece of paper that was from a pack in a magazine freebie of blackberry lane papers and cut it to fit the card top but on an angle. I decided that I would try something different and punched a row of hearts along the edge ,i quite like how the white card shows through. I added a piece of ribbon recycled from the inside of a t shirt and hand-tied a bow before adding to a button.

I still find myself wanting to do more to the card even though I think it looks fine but I do like the clean fresh look.
