Happy Birthday Emily!!!
Owen and I were able to fly to San Diego this past week to visit my sister for her birthday. We also celebrated my nephew Jadon's birthday too. It was such a fun trip and we can't wait to do it again! The flight was cheap and short...two really good things especially when you are in Medical School and have a baby to travel with. Speaking of traveling, Owen did awesome on the way there and did pretty good on the way back. He slept through both plane rides (there and back) and was just a little fussy before both plane rides too. All in all, I definitely can't complain.

One day while there we visited Old Town. I love this place because of the rich culture you see everywhere. We decided to have lunch outside since it was my sister's birthday and enjoy the sunshine. I was in heaven, having some of my favorite people with me and doing what I love best...being outside. :)
After lunch we headed over to the Mormon Batallion and took a tour. It was my first time going and I learned so much about the brave men and women who fought and had so much faith.
The next day we celebrated Jadon's birthday. We went swimming after he got home from school. Here is sweet Zachy playing in the water.
Jadon is quite the swimmer!
Emily made the most awesome orange cake with chocolate frosting. This was Jadon's request for his birthday cake. Pretty fancy eh?
She did a two layer cake with dark chocolate chips in the middle and orange glaze soaked throughout, topped with chocolate frosting. We named it the "Cavity Cake."
I absolutely love San Diego and I quickly reminded Tyson that that's where we are going to live once he's a doctor. So hopefully one day we will end up there. I love my sister and it was so much fun to be with her; especially on her birthday. She is so special to me and her friendship I will always cherish. She is an extraordinary woman and I continue to look up to her more and more.
We definitely missed Tyson while we were gone. Tyson and Owen had only been apart for 24 hours before this 4 day trip. I could tell that Owen missed his daddy and of course I missed my honey. We were happy to come home and be with him again!
