I LOVE San Diego

Happy Birthday Emily!!!
Owen and I were able to fly to San Diego this past week to visit my sister for her birthday. We also celebrated my nephew Jadon's birthday too. It was such a fun trip and we can't wait to do it again! The flight was cheap and short...two really good things especially when you are in Medical School and have a baby to travel with. Speaking of traveling, Owen did awesome on the way there and did pretty good on the way back. He slept through both plane rides (there and back) and was just a little fussy before both plane rides too. All in all, I definitely can't complain.

One day while there we visited Old Town. I love this place because of the rich culture you see everywhere. We decided to have lunch outside since it was my sister's birthday and enjoy the sunshine. I was in heaven, having some of my favorite people with me and doing what I love best...being outside. :)

I love my nephew Jadon!

Owen just chilled in his car seat and enjoyed being outside (as you can see by his cheesy grin!).

My best friend.

After lunch we headed over to the Mormon Batallion and took a tour. It was my first time going and I learned so much about the brave men and women who fought and had so much faith.

Owen LOVES his Aunt Emily! He was so lovey with her the whole trip.

Jadon being a soldier during the tour.

The next day we celebrated Jadon's birthday. We went swimming after he got home from school. Here is sweet Zachy playing in the water.

Jadon is quite the swimmer!

I love this face.

Emily made the most awesome orange cake with chocolate frosting. This was Jadon's request for his birthday cake. Pretty fancy eh?

Happy Happy Birthday Jadon!!! The big 7 years old!

She did a two layer cake with dark chocolate chips in the middle and orange glaze soaked throughout, topped with chocolate frosting. We named it the "Cavity Cake."

I absolutely love San Diego and I quickly reminded Tyson that that's where we are going to live once he's a doctor. So hopefully one day we will end up there. I love my sister and it was so much fun to be with her; especially on her birthday. She is so special to me and her friendship I will always cherish. She is an extraordinary woman and I continue to look up to her more and more.

We definitely missed Tyson while we were gone. Tyson and Owen had only been apart for 24 hours before this 4 day trip. I could tell that Owen missed his daddy and of course I missed my honey. We were happy to come home and be with him again!

Labor Day Weekend and then some

Labor Day weekend was a BLAST. We were so lucky to have my mom come to visit and be here to celebrate my birthday! The birthdays are few and far between when I get to be with my mom so this year was extra special. We spent our time together relaxing, talking, shopping, going out to eat, playing, talking, and watching movies. I love talking to my mom. She is more than just a mom to me; she is my friend. She understands me so well and I always feel blessed to have her as my mom.

Owen LOVED being with his Grandma Cindy! He laughed and played with her all day, every day. It was so nice to have my mom here to help. Since Owen had been sick for 4 weeks, I was really feeling it...and was SUPER tired. My mom held him a ton for me, watched him while Tyson and I went on a date AND went out and played with some friends, and of course she kept my house so clean as I like it. ;)

Owen and Tyson playing in front of the mirror...silly boys. But as you can imagine, Owen was saying "ahhhhhh" when this picture was taken! Too cute!!

For my birthday Tyson gave me a new lens (50mm) for my camera!! I am so excited to play with it and hopefully take a class soon. Below are some pictures I took, BUT I didn't realize I had the setting on manual and so therefore the lighting is WAY off. However, the people in the pictures are what makes them great.

Tyson took this one and he (ofcourse) got the lighting just right...or at least I think so.
I love his big brown eyes. They are so beautiful.

These were taken at one of our play groups held at my house. Owen decided he needed a little rest amongst all of the playing. ;)

He is getting SO close to crawling! I'm not sure how I feel about this....

Owen is FINALLY ear infection free!!!! Woohoo!! I couldn't be happier for the little boy. His sleeping is SLOWLY getting back on track and his appetite is also slowly becoming bigger. He is teething as his front two teeth are trying to make it down. I kind of don't want them to come because then he'll look like an even bigger boy. We have a great new pediatrician for him and we meet with her again at the end of the month for his 9 month wellness check up. Yes, NINE MONTHS!!! So crazy. Anyways, they are going to test for fluid behind his ears, as he continues to pull at them (his right one in particular). So we will see.

We have been having fun with BBQs and swimming parties, late night volleyball games, play groups galore, library days, lazy days, girls only lunches, early morning family jogs and down time at home. We are getting used to Sunday dinners WITHOUT family (which is sad) but enjoy our Skype time each week. Tyson continues to do awesome in school, getting a 101% on his first anatomy test! (he will kill me when he sees this, but it's my job to brag for him!) They have one test a week and they definitely take up much of Tyson's time. But we still manage to find family time often. Oh and FINALLY the temperature cools down to the 70's at night and in the early morning! We couldn't be happier!!

All the fun is wearing him out....

And this is another reason why we love this toy so much :)
