Lovely as a Tree with Watercolour Pencils

Hello there and a Happy Friday to you! It's almost the weekend! Tomorrow I have a class using the High Tide stamp set which I am really looking forward to sharing with my ladies.

Today I am sharing 2 makes from last weekends Watercolour Pencils class. We used the ever lovely Lovely as a Tree stamp set which is a firm favourite and I an confirm this will be in our next catalogue! Its the only stamp set that has been in all the UK catalogues since 2007!
We used a technique that I picked up from our wonderful team member Amanda's blog. We scribbled some of the Pacific Point and Old Olive pencils onto the plastic sheet from the Stamp a ma Jig and then used an Aquapainter to apply the colour to the image. On the first two photos we stamped onto the Watercolour Paper which allows you to use quite a lot of water and get a good depth of colour.
On the card below we used Shimmer Card and did the exact same technique but as you can see the colours aren't quite as deep but you do get a lovely shimmer through the colour.

Here are both of the cards together. The ladies were very proud of these makes and I think the stamp set was a hit, even since 2007!
I will be closing the Online Code a little early this month on the evening of Saturday 29th April. Please ensure all orders for this months code have been placed before this date for a free gift in May.

Want a new 2017-2018 catalogue? Are you in the UK and don't already have a designated Stampin Up demonstrator? Then please click HERE to complete the sign up form and I will send you a catalogue in mid-May.

Lovely as a Tree

Good Morning guys. Start of another week today but only a short one with it being the Bank Holiday weekend. I think I am the only person in our house who doesn't mind Mondays because I am fortunate to do a job that I love. My boys hate Mondays at school and we have the grumpy Sunday evenings, which I remember well from my teenage days, the "Sunday night feeling" was never good! But I am back bright and breezy and looking forward to a productive day!

Today's make is from my male themed Tuesday Club a couple of weeks ago. Some of the ladies asked if we could make a card with Lovely as a Tree. Did you know it's the only stamp set that is still in the Annual Catalogue from when it first launched in the UK in 2007, and it still features in the top sellers!
The colours used here are Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. Please remember Mossy Meadow is one of the colours that will leave us shortly and you need to make sure that you have the ink pad re-inker if you have the ink pad. I have been making it my mission to let my clients know this.
You may be wondering how I got the tree stamp to be 2 different colours. This was achieved by colouring the stamp with the brush end of the marker pens and then stamping. I then ran the aqua brush over the leaves to spread the colour out a little.
Inside got a little love too!

It's not too late to join my Online Code Club for March. The spends are building up nicely and I am looking forward to choosing something for my shoppers this month. I recently sent a little email to my regulars and those who have replied have told me you love the surprise element of what will be in your package each month!
And last months parcel shown below was a particular favourite!
Back tomorrow with the last male make!

Lovely as a Tree

Woah it’s very foggy this morning isn’t it? To be honest it started here last night. One minute the sun was shining and it was daylight and then within half an hour it was dark and foggy! I certainly don’t enjoy the weather at this time of the year, I’m just glad I have a lovely hobby to keep me occupied indoors!

Today I am sharing a card made with one of my oldest stamp sets. This stamp set is the only set to still be in our Annual Catalogue 8 years after it launched in the UK! It’s called Lovely as a Tree and it’s still one of my top sellers and apparently it is always in the top 20 stamp set sales for Stampin Up in general!
The reason I think this stamp set is popular is because it has a timeless appeal and the trees are life like, so they don’t date! Also it is great for doing male cards, thinking of you cards and sympathy cards - often the cards that people really struggle with making.
For our Stamp a Stack a couple of weeks ago I decided to make a simple one layer sponged card using my favourite image from the set. To achieve this we simply popped 2 Post It notes across the card (wide ones) and left a gap of about 2 inches and then I sponged with Marina Mist and Pear Pizazz. I then simply stamped over the top with the tree image and the Memento ink pad.
Really really simple but I hope you think it’s also really really effective!
Do you have Lovely as a Tree? I don’t think it’s going anywhere fast and it’s the perfect addition to your stamp shelf!

I have just created this months Online Code Club which you can use when shopping on my ONLINE STORE and spending between £25 and £150. Please do not use if you spend over £150 as you will get your own Stampin Rewards. Last months pressies have been ordered and are on their way to me and the thank you cards already made, so they will be out in the post to you very soon. Here is the code for November. Please note if you are wanting to make the most of my Christmas Wish List service I will also add these orders onto the Code Club this month so you get a little extra in your stocking!

Oooops.... more males

I lied to you! I have another male make for you! Sorry about that! I hope you don't mind more inspiration. This card was designed for my Tuesday Club which sadly didn't happen as I was too ill to run the class, having sinusitis AND tonsillitis at the same time - YUCK!

Again I have used the Hardwood stamp for the umpteenth time and teamed it with the Lovely as a Tree stamp.
I made a gatefold style card that is 14.8cm square and used the Always Artichoke again together with Baked Brown Sugar and Very Vanilla. Inside I layered a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the tree stamp again in the corner (sorry, forgot to take a photo inside!)
Hope you like this one, I really enjoyed making it!

Loving Lovely as a Tree

Hello there and Happy Friday to you! Another week gone by in a flash and May already!

Today I am sharing a card from last Friday's Stamp a Stack. This was my favourite one from the class and was cased from my downline Allie (again) although I used very different colours. I have of course used my favourite Hardwood background stamp! I think I have definitely had my moneys worth out of this stamp!
I have paired it up with the Lovely as a Tree stamp, a timeless classic that is still in our catalogue since 2007. The colours I have used are Baked Brown Sugar for the Hardwood stamp and card base. The trees were stamped in Always Artichoke and then I sponged the sky with Pool Party and the grass with more Always Artichoke. It is a lot easier than it looks and very effective. I just use the sponges in the catalogue and cut each of them into 6 pieces.
The sentiment is from the Wetlands stamp set and I punched it out with the Ticket Duo punch (which I don't use often enough). I think I will make a batch of these up, they are so easy to do and a great male make! Thanks again Allie for the inspiration!
