A Fab Weekend!

Good morning!!!
Hope you have had a lovely weekend? I have had a fab weekend and taken a couple of days off from blogging!!!!
On Saturday morning I took Evan to his dance class. He has been a bit nervous lately and he has struggled getting over this but he did the class fine and was really fab!!
In the afternoon I had 2 of my pals round, Jill and Vicky and we made this lovely project which I am really pleased with. It is using lots of RETIRING PRODUCTS, such as Live Your Dream stamp set, Night and Day papers, Pink Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Black Gingham ribbon
I went with a colour scheme of Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White.
This card has been left blank to add the sentiment later on.

This one is my favourite card, just love it!!

And finally a combination of stamping and die cutting!.
On the Saturday evening Evan and I attended the Presentation Evening for our Dance Exams. WOW we were overwhelmed. Here is Evan getting a very special award. He got such good marks in his Waltz (95%) and Cha Cha Cha (92%) that he won the Award for top grades in his age group!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of him!!!

I also got fab marks too, passing with HONOURS, the highest rating!!! I got 89% RUmba, 89% Quickstep, 90% Waltz and 93% Jive. Evan thinks he is better than me as his marks were better, I havent the heart to tell him my exams were harder!!!!!!!
So we are really pleased with our efforts and its given Evan a huge boost!!!!!
We are competing next Sunday so fingers crossed!!

Back to more Live Your Dream!!

Yet more teacher thank you cards!!! Have gone a bit mad with them this year with Ross leaving!!
Here is one for the teacher who he has had for Maths for the last 2 years! She was his main class teacher in Year 3 and is still Ross's favourite ever teacher!!
More Live Your Dream I am afraid! (Are you fed up yet?)
Pretty simple really, scalloped edge of the card. Used the Say it with Scallops for the sentiment and the lovely Rose Red Stitched grosgrain, love it!!

School holidays are here with a bang!!!!
See you tomorrow!!

Oooops I forgot to do my blog this morning!!! Sorry about that!!!
Just a little post today to show you some thank you cards that I made for my Stampers 10 club, a very lovely set of ladies!!!! Now Elaine and Janet if you are reading this and wondering where your card is, well I forgot to put them in your bags that I brought to the All Day event!!! I will make sure you get them!
The colour combo is Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion and Old Olive and the stamp set is Live Your Dream. I cant stop using this set at the moment!
I have also used the Tiny Tags set for the little sentiment, so versatil!!

And here they all are!! I love this colour combo, shame the Pink Passion is going but it is very close in colour to Melon Mambo so all is not lost!!
Back tomorrow with a teacher card

Live your Dream!

Hello there, its a longer post today so please stick around!!!

Todays title is Live your Dream which is the stamp set I have used for 2 cards below. Its also a very appropriate title in another way, but more of that later!
Two of my lovely downline recently promoted to Bronze 2 level so I sent them a card to say Congratulations. I have used 3 colours, 2 of which will no longer be available after 30th September!! The colours are Summer Sun, Pink Passion and Old Olive (which will be staying).
I must admit to LOVING Pink Passion but I am sure Melon Mambo will replace it quite nicely for me!!! I have coloured the image with my marker pens and I love the brightness of it!

Here are both cards together, slightly different to each other!

Onto the second part of Living your Dream!!! When Strictly Come Dancing came onto our screens in 2003 I was immediately hooked! I loved it, the dancing, the music, the glitter, the costumes, everything. But what I wanted to do more than anything was to learn to do it myself!!!! Never having the confidence to just turn up on my own at a dance class I put it to the back of my mind, but still watched the program as an avid fan!!
Fast forward to October 2009 when I went to my first lesson!!! Since then my little Evan started in April, yes he has only been dancing for 13 weeks and he has amazed me!! He has done an exam (so have I too) and on Sunday we entered our first competition!

Here is my little ballroom boy, so so proud of him!

Here he is with his teacher just about to start the waltz. He got a bit of stage fright and told me he didnt want to do it but after a little chat and a cuddle he was fine. He danced so well and to our delight he got through the first round and into the Semi Final!!! Sadly he didnt get into the final but we were so pleased he got through, it gave him a real boost!

Action shot!

He also danced the Cha cha cha with his teacher and then he also danced it with his partner, they did amazing and he led her beautifully!!
I was also dancing, Tango and Paso Doble, 2 very hard ones that I had only learned in 4 hours!!!!Sadly I didnt get through to the final on the Tango but I did on the Paso Doble and I got a medal, and best of all I have qualified to dance in the Grand Finals at Blackpool Tower Ballroom in November, talk about Living your Dream!!!

Here we are together, me and my Ballroom Boy!!!
Thanks for listening today, I am still a bit excited about it!!!!!!
Got card class tonight so the poor ladies are going to have to here all about it!!!!
Back tomorrow

So Sorry

This is a card that no one likes to make - a sympathy card.
On Tuesday I was very sad to learn that my beloved downline Kate lost her younger brother very suddenly at age 53. I made her a card straight away and sent it off so I hope she has got it now.
The papers are from Night and Day and the flower is from Live your Dream, coloured in with So Saffron and Old Olive marker pens

The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and layered onto the oval punches.
As I said, these are cards that are not nice to make, I think simple works best with these ones.

Apologies for the delay in posting today! I have had some lovely ladies here for a card class.
Here is another set of the same style cards as the last couple of posts but using the Live Your Dream set. I havent had this set for long but I love it so much!
The first one is the easel card, I have used the markers to colour in the flowers

Here is the Criss Cross version, used plenty of the Mellow Moss gingham, really cute ribbon!

And finally the trifold twister card

And the full set!

I have just got one more set to show you tomorrow!
Bye for now

More Challenge Night!

Good morning! Here I am again with some more cards from the challenge night!

The challenge was to use Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue on your card. Now this was really spooky as I set this exact challenge to my team about a week ago!!!!

Here goes, I managed to make 3 items for this challenge!

This card was based on one made by the lovely Toni who is in my second level downline. Toni made this card for the shoebox swap we did when we went away for the weekend last October.
Something Old - Bella Bleu & 5 Petal punch
Something new - Live your dream set
Something borrowed - Gems from my wedding stash
Something blue - card and ink

Next up is my favourite, very very simple but effective I think!!
Something old - Spiced Cider papers
Something new - Elegant Thank you stamp
Something borrowed - Favour box and gems from wedding stash
Something blue - card and ink

Lastly a cute quick card with the Vintage Vogue set
Something old - Taffeta ribbon
Something new - Vintage Vogue
Something borrowed - Diamante buckle from wedding stash
Something blue - card and ink

Hope you like my little creations.
Thats me off to get busy now. Got a wedding order that needs completing today. I have had a lovely couple of days off but I need to catch up now!! Ross is at the Cricket Club with my Dad doing allsorts of little jobs that need doing and Evan is having a duvet day I think (he would have one every day if he could!!)
See you tomorrow
