The Tower of Babel

You heard of the story, or rather the origins of the Tower of Babel? It is a true biblical story and Babel is in Babylon, which is situated somewhere in present Iraq.

This is the artist's impression of the Tower of Babel.

Quite a realistic point of view, I say. The details are well-thought, but i feel that there could have been NO buildings that tall to even touch the clouds or the sky. Historians have ranged it between 212m to 13km high. Heaven ain't that short lah.

Anyway God dispersed mankind all over the earth by confessing them with the (70-72) different languages, as a sign of disapproval for His contempt for human pride! Indeed, haughty pride comes b4 a big fall!

I've always been fascinated by this story and I happened to chance upon a lil jigsaw puzzle of it, at Daiso PS, few days back.
Yups, I din change the orientation again.

130 pieces only. The colours isn't very fantastic since it only costs $2. LOL!

I've glued the puzzle and I'm intending on getting a B6 sized frame to put this puzzle in. Serves as a good reminder to me too.

Anyway, it was rather easy to piece this puzzle, considering how bad I am with jigsaw puzzles and the lack of patience in me. Thank God!

Anyway, hope this entry has taught you sth somehow today (:

Net outreach is coming, and my mind is still in a blank. Nervous, scared and panicky! Sighs! Trust God!!!

Play with Your Minds!

I heard about the problems on Blogger last week, but good thing is that I had no inspiration to blog, so it created no issue for me =)

Last Sunday evening, I met up with some of my Primary 1 classmates for some Minds Cafe games. It was hilariously fun-ny!

Cherlyn: Very good in guessing and acting with the monster doll!
Me: Good in guessing and acting, suck big time in drawing!
Kuanyi: Very good in drawing, good in guessing!
Selvin: Suck big time in BOTH drawing and guessing!

WAHAHAHAHAHAHA~! See it to believe it =)

Games played: The BIG Taboo, Fastest Hands, True Colours, UglyDoll =)

Took a few pics only as we were too busy playing! Hahaha!

The awesome BIG Taboo game!
Selvin trying his very best to use that monster doll to act out the given word. Failed attempt after 30 secs!
Selvin trying to draw =\ but I think his team (Kuanyi and him) only scored 2 words in 2 minutes -.-

Kuanyi's beautiful drawings, that Selvin failed to decipher most of them. Utter sadness!

Pardon the orientation of the last 2 pics. Din bother to change it. Those are my masterpieces. Beautiful, ain't it?

We scored 7 words in 2 minutes, although it was shitty. The boys only got 5 words, with beautiful drawings. See lah, pretty so what, end up still lose! LOL!

Other that the drawing part, the entire 2 hours there was rather fun. Dinner was roti prata at the shop near Tampines West CC, near SHPS. Thanks to Selvin, for sending us home. That is the one thing Selvin's very good at!

I feel like getting that BIG Taboo game =) although it's expensive and must pre-order from overseas. Ohwells!

Unsatisfied Weekend

It's been ages since I last went to town, bcos whenever I go there I dun feel like it's nice to hang around there anyway. I was let down once again last weekend, it was boring.

However I din realise that Ion Orchard was already up, and lotsa luxury brands graced the entrance of the ionic mall. I wonder if the shops in there are just more outlets from Charles & Keith, New Urban Male, Thai Express etc. Boring, I say. Likewise for the other new mall at Somerset MRT, called Orchard Central.

The residental building behind is still in construction. WOW! It's sure to be looking darn fine lah. That's my last consolation.

Anyway the main point is that, last Saturday, the whole family went to Orchard for dinner. It was in lieu of my graduation 2 months back. We went to Traders Hotel for a seafood buffet dinner, $50++! It was at CafeBiz.

I read lotsa food reviews online, and all were raving about the goodness of it, so I had to try it to believe it. I din take much pics as my fingers were dirty with crab and it wasn't worth the snaps anyway. Ha!

We ate for 2 hours only, and the variety was limited. The food was not very fresh, as my brother commented. The service was alright, but could have been better given that it is a 5* hotel.

Not worth the $50++, but after including the credit card promotion of 3-for-2, it was about $44 per pax. Still not worth the trouble we went thru just to travel to that hotel and the mess of the last-minute planning. Not forgetting, I made a reservation the previous day and guess what, when we arrived at the cafe, the tables were not prepared yet!

Please dun bother going there for a classy buffet meal. I rather go Fullerton if not for no credit card promotions there.

Youth rally was Retro-themed on Sunday, and the region 6 people really did made the effort to dress up! Kudos to Shuyin, Liyin, Audrey and Tim! Haha!

This staircase layout pic is so cool lah. The bright colours of the big group of retro models, as they hungrily munched on their Subway sandwiches, after a big photoshoot!

Oh, I finally did a new pair of spectacles for myself. A red half-rimmed type. I look weird bcos my eyes seem to be slightly cut off by the top rim. Hmmm....

Went to watch Ice Age 3 with Cher Hao yesterday, in 3D format. It was alright, would have watched it on normal screen as the 3D effects wasn't that fantastic as expected.

Off to caregroup, for now =\ SIAN!!!!

Happy Birthday to Thalia & Nicholas!

Some of us went over to Nicholas' house, to celebrate Thalia's 2nd birthday and to spring a early birthday surprise on Nicholas. He was so shocked till he dropped his bag onto the floor. LOL! It was a great evening, together with the entire family =)

Let the pictures do the entry for today then! Enjoy the overwhelming cuteness!!
Admiring and guessing the gift's contents. LOL!
Criminal shot with the evidence :( Why so sad, baby?
Thalia (in baby talk): Na~ Andrea jiejie... You be my scapegoat ok?

Thalia admiring the glittery book of numbers, Olivia's pressie to her.

Sis and I gave Thalia a denim dress, and indeed we have made the right choice!! No pics bcos the present was not opened yet. Haha!

After so many NGs, this is one decent shot with the babies, with some missing!

Our "twist" signs look retarded =\ but we look so cute together :D
After much struggle, this is one great shot. Tired out by now.
Talking about third party, lil Ansa loves to stick her head into everything, including taking photos. Hahaha!
Ansa's leftover victory tears, along with her loot: bicycle helmet. She cried the house down just to snatch it away from Elisha, as usual.

It was a great photoshoot, with my beautiful camera. Haha!

Happy birthday once again to Thalia meimei and Nicholas (and Olivia)!

Lee Ki-Wo is THE 帅哥!!

About to Have already finished this kdrama, Outrageous Women - 麻辣女人. It is super entertaining to watch!

The taller main actor, Lee Ki-Woo, is so handsome and he is said to be the best-looking Korean actor! I admit I watch this drama bcos of him, but the storyline is indeed worth my time either lah!

Outrageous Women - 麻辣女人
Acted as Song Mi-Joo's son =)

Lee Ki-Woo!!

Watched Super Rookie b4 this. It was draggy, abit funny and predictable.

Oh Ji-ho was all I was watching for, but sadly his role in this show was so boring. I used to think he was already the best-looking Korean actor, but glad to say that Lee Ki-Wo still beat him hands down!!

Anyway I preferred his lead role in Couple or Trouble, with Han Ye-Seul.
Couple or Trouble
Han Ye-Seul
Oh Ji-ho

Anyway I still got a pile of kdramas to watch, much thanks to my kdrama-crazed bf. Haha! Time sure flies =) Goodnight!

Char Siew Cher Hao!

Cher Hao has just left for holiday to Macau, an hour ago =) FREEDOM!!

WAHAHAHAHAHAHA~

Just kidding. I will miss him more lor.

Went to Budget Terminal with his family, to send him and his mum off. It was nice having Mac breakfast with them, talking about all the past flying experiences in all sorts of budget airplanes. LOL! Imagine flying in Nepal via domestic flight, without aircon -.-!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway yesterday we went swimming after months of procrastination. We ended up soaking our wrinkled skin for 3 watery hours! I went home slighter darker like a Malay, he ended up like char siew* (roasted meat). Red on the outside, white beneath the red parts :D

p/s: non-Halal boy =)

His mum scolded him for being roasted, I felt bad but still LOL-ed at him. Heh! He left Singapore today, abit lesser of a Char Siew though.

Oh, I love him!

Aftermath of Michael Jackson's Death

Michael Jackson's death came so sudden to the entire world, on 25th June 2009. A pity, how a superb music icon just passed away just like that. Sadly, people only remember you when you are either dead or rich. Ha!

I was watching the memorial service telecast on Channel 5, two days back. They repeated 10000 times of those short clips and pictures of the service and nothing solid at all. An example was when MJ's eldest girl gave her very emotional goodbye speech to her father, and subsequently sobbed in her relatives' embrace. They kept showing the segment when she said those words, "He's the best daddy in the world. I love you, daddy.", sth along that line lah. I know it is sad for her and the siblings, but must the television people telecast that every 1-2 minutes??!!

I'm too lazy to source for the actual video segment etc, so go youtube it yourself lah.

Anyway, main point of this entry was to tell you how much I love to listen to some of his classic hits. I absolutely loved those "world-peace" themed songs such as Heal The World and We Are The World, those jiggly dance hits such as You Rock My World, The Way You Make Me Feel and They Don't Care About Us, love ballads such as You Are Not Alone. I can play those songs on repeat mode for days! Hahahaha~!

Until now, I'm unable to do his iconic Moonwalk stance, after years of failed attempts. I never liked his weird "multiple face-lift" plastic face. I prefer him black as he was years ago. A silly joke I heard from I-forgot-who; that it is very impossible to cremate MJ bcos he is made of plastic and will thus produce poisonous gases when burnt -.-!

I pity his children most, everyone wants custody of them and that no1 seem to really care how they feel. The media attention is all for the moolah and publicity, once the buzz is over, that's when the lawsuits comes in. The entire Jackson family wants a piece of his will of fortune or debts. Soon, the headlines will be focused on the lawsuits amongst each other lah.

What happened to the lyrics sung in Heal The World? These people are certainly not making the world a better place to live in. Sighs.

Last but not least, MJ's legacy is full of ups and downs, so will his autobiography be too. Well, at least I know that MJ once rocked my world with his mostly self-composed songs =)

*p/s: Mr MJ, I hope that you resume back to your original skin colour, back up there in Heaven! =P
Tiger cub so cute :D

Impossible to Me, (Always) Possible to Him!

  1. I need courage and maturity - to venture into new directions in my life's path and outta my comfort zone.
  2. I thank God for being the source of hope to me, in times of joy and needs.
  3. Experiencing favour from man and God, I feel love and warmth.
Thank you Lord!

-Indeed, it's better to be loved than to love.-
