Long but Short

Yups, I saw this link on Ee Ling's blog so I decided to check it out, although I realised I've done it b4, somewhere last year. Haha! No harm doing it again lah. Ohwells! =)

http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Skip the quiz part if you dun wanna know anything about me. Read the updates will do then. Thanks ar!

------------

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life. (FALSE!)

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble (FALSE!). You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Here is the analysis:

  1. You are a very serious person. You tend to be quiet and well behaved, and you don't have a great deal of self-confidence. You prefer to be alone rather than with friends and that could make you a little less interesting to certain types of guys. You are very attractive in an individual kind of way, and this means it can take people a little while to get to like you. (FALSE!)
  2. You really care about other people's feelings and are quite serious about the issues that affect your life. You are sincere, and your concern for the well-being of others makes many people want to be your friend.
  3. You are a bright, cheerful and bubbly person. You are thoughtful and considerate, and like to have fun. Everybody feels comfortable around you because of your pleasant nature. When you walk into a room, people's eyes are likely to be drawn to you because of your charm.
  4. Your peers think of you as a fun person, but sometimes you can be a little irresponsible. You can be somewhat childish, and can try to ignore the fact that you will one day need to really grow up and be a mature adult! Perhaps you could start reading good books; they might help you look at the world in a different light. You do want to be taken seriously, right?
  5. Your boyfriend believes that you are a strong and independent person. Your confidence and cheerfulness make you an attractive person to be around, but sometimes you need to pay more attention to what other people, including your boyfriend, are thinking.

You desire a love that will last forever. You are quite serious about finding this type of love, and that's why you think carefully about the men that you meet before deciding whether you could really love them. You don't just develop a crush on someone overnight: you look at a person's personality and other aspects of their life before deciding to form an attachment. If a guy doesn't meet your expectations, you would rather be alone. Your love has to be perfect. Be careful though, you could be missing out on some worthy relationships because your standards are so high. (TRUE!)

Kind and Gentle

Your kindness is your charm - you are also gentle and sweet. Everybody likes to be around people with your personality. Like a psychologist, people like to talk to you to discuss their problems because you are proper and discrete, as well as confident. You look mature and people respect you. People with this kind of character are few and far between.
(OK Alvin, please laugh now....)

The quizzes just keep going on and on, click "Give Me More". It drove me nuts after a few times.
----------

Anyway, I'm a digger for personality tests =) I just love doing it over and over again, although the questions asked are really dumb. Haha! I know Alvin and Ying Xi like to do them too =) LOL!

Most of it is true but a few still can be better said lah.
----------

Small update since I'm back from my Sydney trip and all... Still doing tutoring and I quite like it, given the flexible working hours =) Job-hunting is annoying me badly lah, I shall take a break for now. No offence, but I'm starting to hate the unseen pressure from every1's concerned questioning and all.

Pics of my Sydney trip are almost 2GB worth, maybe 1000 pics in that DVD burned out. LOL! Will post them up in collages, in due time lah. It's a big hassle just thinking of sorting them out in locations and all. Ohwells, we'll see!

In June, many events are up!

Ying Xi's birthday dinner celebration is coming up real soon, glad to see my buddies once again :D Amos is enlisting into army soon, farewell dinner for him up too. Youth camp is in mid-June but I'm not very in the "looking forward to it" kinda mood yet. I'm praying for more tuition kids to come my way too. Cher Hao is going for reservist training in end-June, there goes 2 weeks w/o him. Just like how I went to Sydney for 10 days. Haha!

I'm so gonna miss you, my love!
-----------

Hmm, on a serious sidenote, I need to make changes in my net soon. I've been procrastinating too long. I'm so guilty and been a very lazy net leader too. Next month's net outreach, it shall be better, I promise. Sighs. God, help me to pick up the motivation please. I'm so weary about many stupid trivial stuff this year, I just dunno why! Arghh!

What a long update it have suddenly become. Ha! I'm tired, my left shoulder muscle still ache from sleeping on the wrong position last night. I can't turn my neck properly, crap!

Goodnight fellas =)

Robin"Hood" & Siew Ling's Wedding 02.05.09

It was a BIG affair for my cousin and his wife, who were getting married right after Labour Day! I think my uncle and auntie really planned the wedding rather well, making sure everything ran smoothly during the banquet. Haha!

It was held at Happy Restaurant, in Lion City Hotel.

My entire clan of relatives from my dad's side came, including those uncles that I've never met in my life. Everyone was busy yakking and bragging about their latest achievements in life; but all I wanted to know was when the banquet was starting and what were the dishes gonna be, that's all. Yes, typical me.

Small heart-shaped cookie as door gift -.-! Hotel super stingy sia!

We came late bcos we knew that all wedding banquets never start on time, partly bcos my tuition session ended late. Haha! Well, a blessing in disguise indeed, we ended up sitting at the immediate family's table, the red tablecloth one! Haha! That also means that you get served first, you get to see everything on stage without needing to strain your poor neck like a giraffe! YAY!

The wedding cake looks pretty but seeing it upclose, it looked cheap and boring =\ So sorry, cousin. I just think that the hotel standard for the wedding cake, decor and ballroom, is really old and boring. Sad. Only saving grace, the food :D Yummy! Coming up soon~

Cousin's maternal grandma, a very sweet person, just like this cup of red wine :P

Nan-ge!

He was the emcee for the night, alongside with his table of getai singers. No joke! My uncle engaged them all to come sing at the banquet lor. My dad also mentioned that when he married my mama, it was the exact scenerio! OMG!!

The first getai singer for the night~

Basically the singers' age ranges from 15 to 50, I think. All they sang was Chinese songs, Hokkien kuas* (songs), Cantonese and even tried dialoging in Hainanese, bcos that is our dialect group. Awesome! Nan-ge is a linguist in dialects lah!

Finally after much entertaining, the bride and groom finally appeared to cut cake and show the sad-to-say, poorly-done wedding montage. I was really starving by then!

First dish: Cold dish combination~ (not very good)

Second dish: Braised Shark's Fin with real Crabmeat! (Awesome, esp the big chunks of the fin :D)
Third dish: Roasted Chicken, with Crackers~ (so-so)

The bride changed into her evening gown and it was time to pop the champagne and give speech! Not forgetting the lil interview session between them and Nan-ge!

Both families yum-seng to the crowd!

Fourth dish: Steamed Red Garoupa, HK Style (fresh and sweet!)

Fifth dish: Braised Baby Abalone with Broccoli (Awesome!)

Sixth dish: Pan-fried Pork Ribs, with Salted Egg & Butter (too sweet but pork is great!)

Seventh dish: Pan-fried King Prawns with Spicy sauce (not bad!)
Eighth dish: Braised E-Fu Noodles (I never liked it, so it's YUCKS for me!)
Ninth dish: Some Yam Dessert (dun like yam, too sweet, but grandma and parents said Yummy!)

Went home at 11pm and we started camwhoring with Mama (: Enjoy the 3 beauties~

Attempting to act cool~
Attempting to act rock n' roll~
Just being normal~ great!

So, congrats once again to cousin Robin and wife (: God bless you in your marriage and have babies soon!

Everyday Minerals Makeup

Happened to see this site on Angelina's blog so I decided to check it out.

They actually had free sample makeup kits, which includes 3 foundation bases, 1 blush and 1 concealer. All you have to pay is US shipping for USD5.30! Quite a good deal especially for girls who like to experiment around with mineral makeup, which can be quite expensive in Singapore.

I got that and a personal custom kit too, for USD34. The kit includes any 6 items from the following categories: foundation base, concealer, eye colour, lip gloss or balm, blush, makeup brushes, face powder/colour and pressed powder. Cool stuff, I must say.

Bad part is that, with any kit added on to your cart, the shipping fee goes up too. Hence I paid a total of USD10.65 for shipping my free sample and custom kit. Total amount spent: USD44.65 = SGD66 O.O

Anyway, Angelina bought for herself a Super Custom Kit, one level higher than mine, costing her USD50! Hahaha! For the sake of vanity =\ and the lover. LOL!

So, Miss Vainpots, go check out this site now!

Happy 23rd to Madeline!

We, the buddies, finally managed to find time to catch up and celebrate Madeline's 23rd birthday! Although it was slightly belated, but we still had loads of fun together. After all it's the moments spent together that matters most (:

Location: Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant, Quality Hotel
Food: Vegetarian Buffet Dinner (Mad's treat)
People Present: Madeline, Alvin, Ying Xi + Robyn, Cher Hao + me

Lil birthday cake "Desire" - from Bakerzinn
Mad brought a disposible film camera (her pressie from her poly friends), and snapped all the  memories up with the old-school film! LOL~
Happy birthday girl~ The oldest in our clique!
Make a wish~!
Blow out the CANDLE!
Unwrapping the already-known present.... Haha!
Cool laptop bag for her new Dell laptop, a pair of Havaianas and that lil blue fairy pen from BKK (I specially bought for Mad!), and the traditional birthday card from us all~
Group shot!

Watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine, at TM. It was madness as all 6 of us squeezed into Cher Hao's lil car. Haha! Not forgetting that fart~ LOL! It was a great evening with the dears!

Other pics can be found on Alvin's FB page: Madeline's 23rd Birthday Celebration!

Next up, Ying Xi's turn :D

BKK Shopping Trip - Day 7

Day 7 - Last Day!

5am: Wake up, shower, pack, laze abit in room and off for breakfast! Zzzzzz~

All my barang-barang!

8.20am: Reached airport way earlier than planned, partly bcos we were kiasu and wanted to prevent any screw-up on the way to the airport; NO thanks once again to the stupid protesters.

Funny thing was that, all 3 check-in counters had super long queue and we realised that being early may not be a good idea after all. There are more kiasu people than us! Waited for 30 mins for our turn =.= those check-in staff are quite slow too. Sighs.

Off to depart from Thailand and back to Singapore! YAY~

Comparing us to our neighbouring aircraft from Qatar Airways, we are peanuts!

9.45am: Plane was slightly delayed, no thanks to some inconsiderate late bugger. Joan was already blabbering much about reaching Singapore soon. LOL!

Joan bought the Straits Times newspaper onboard, for S$2! OMG! No choice, we wanted to update ourselves in English about the BKK protests lah. Anything for safety and no CNN!

Meanwhile, budget airlines got no in-flight entertainment so I took tons of pics during the 2 hours flight. Enjoy the white fluffy clouds and blue skies and green lil islands scattered everywhere. God's creation indeed is interesting and marvellous, enough said!

Up and away we go~!

On the runway, the terminal so far away now~
Runways, with many intersections! How the pilots not be confused on which one to take off from?!

Control tower~ not as nice as Changi's though!

Taking off any moment now~! Excited me :)

Wheeeee~ We are diagonally upwards now!

Aerial view of small area of BKK!

Cute lil boy in front of us, admiring the scenery~
Love the effects of the wispy clouds and the wing aileron against it....
Many different layers of clouds in one pic. Look like kueh lapis* (multi-layered kueh)!
Blue waters, lil white cloud patches, green islands~ Beautiful (:
A huge version of Pulau Ubin?

12.45pm: Landed in Singapore! Changi Airport indeed brought back that familiar home feeling to us Singaporeans! So happy to be back home once again. Clean water, clean air, clean bed, clean clothes and clean food!

2pm: Lunch with Darren and Joan and T2 MacDonalds. Darren was bored and decided to pick us up at airport. He even helped me with my bags all the way back to my house doorstep. So sweet of him =)

4pm: Home Sweet Home!

So here's the stuff I bought with approx. S$200 odd, back in BKK. Fantastic!
Zara-inspired dress~ 170 baht (S$7), after bargaining at Chatuchuk!
Shoes! 2 for me, got them at SL Night Bazzar. Blue ones for mum. Could have gotten more if not for limited baggage space lor.
All tops from Chatuchuk! Ranging from 100 to 200 baht only! Belts and misc stuff from Indus Mall and Platinum SC.
All tops from Big C! Ranging from 59 to 199 baht only!

Foodstuff and nail art from MBK, the rest from Platinum SC and other malls.

This marks the last of my BKK shopping trip nonsense, and next up is Sydney =) LOL!

All in all, I really enjoyed shopping at BKK and much thanks to Joan for all the meticulous planning on which shopping mall to invade everyday. Hahaha! Forget about the bad protests experience lah!

Girls, do shop at BKK bcos SG really is overpriced in clothes especially! Guys, not much stuff for you to buy so basically go stuff yourselves with lotsa great cheap street food there! YAY!

Thank God once again for His protection over us, especially when 2 ladies are all alone in a foreign country is quite risky. We din fall sick and din get killed by the protesters either. So well, all is good!

Next shopping destination, Hong Kong.... Once I'm rich enough to shop again lah!
