God Is Faithful!

=) I got a Distinction for my final module of the degree! FINALLY!

I thank God for His blessings and promises, indeed He never forgets to honour those who honours Him! My pa's prayers have been answered.

Frankly, I din pray for a Distinction for that module. All I wanted and asked God for, was a simple Pass or Credit grade, bcos I know that I din do very well and I din complete my final 40% project. Well, I'm surprised and indeed my pa have so much more faith than I have. His faith level is level 99, mine is level 10. Ha!

I remembered I almost went crazy with all the assignments, the lack of sleep, the pimples on my face, the question marks in my brain and above my head, and the lack of social life for 2 months straight. The other module which I thought I would do lousily too, ended up with a good Credit grade. I'm so glad and relieved that degree studies are over, for now. Phew!

Anyway, thank God once again for His faithfulness. Amidst the busyness studying and eating at the table, funny thing is that I still had some time for the church ministries and schedules. Ohwells, now all I'm trusting God for, is a job!

LOL! Right after I typed that last word "job", the job agent just called me and there might be some jobs available for me (: We'll see! For now, it's time to prepare for tonight's net outreach - Movie Night! All the best to all your nets too~ God bless us all, once again! YAY!

Tml is handbill saturation day for Good News Singapore.

My net got 38 blocks to handle at Bedok North area. Jiayou for those who got more than 7000 pieces to handle. Haha!

ColorGenics Trial Profile

Name: julia

You want to be regarded as an exiting and interesting personality able to persuade others to comply with your beliefs and ideas. You are charming and able to influence other people who come into your sphere of influence. You like mental stimulation and you are the sort of person who is prepared to 'try anything once'. Your confidence is so much so that others are often swept away by your enthusiasm.

You don't really give in. You follow your beliefs and ideals to the bitter end. You are the personification of stubbornness and whatever may transpire, right or wrong, you refuse to compromise or make concessions.

You are very demanding - and insisting on total involvement but you do not reciprocate with the same depth of feeling. However, it could well be that maybe an unprecedented surprise is awaiting you in the near future. For just as one whilst paddling in the sea, could flounder into a whirlpool, so you may be drawn into a loving situation that has high emotional demands - and you could well respond with a depth of emotion that you never even dreamed that you possessed.

You pretend that you are a carefree individual and that nothing really bothers you - that you are so self-sufficient that whatever problems beset you they simply flow off you as water flows off a ducks back. You are experiencing considerable stress, trying to conceal yourself from the rest of the world. In actual fact - deep down, you are not at all happy. You feel lonely and you need someone with whom you can 'Let your hair down' and share your hopes, dreams and high standards. You are imposing unnecessary self restraint on yourself. You would like to demonstrate the unique quality of your character to all and sundry.

Sometimes one fears that its not worth formulating new ideas and projects because whatever you seem to have done in the past has never worked out and you are tired of, as they say, banging your head against a brick wall. No one seems to care. So now you are trying to get away from it all by withdrawing into a 'fantasy land' but unfortunately 'fantasy land' is just that and sooner or later you will have to return to reality so why delay the inevitable? When you do return, you will find that the situation is not as tough as perhaps you thought it was.

* Editor's Note (which is me, duh!) : Well, to an extent it is accurate, but of course it is just a rough gauge and it is not entirely me. That is, if you know me very well, you can comment on which is really me lor. Haha! So well, you guys might wanna try it but dun entirely believe it ya =) Cheers!

God, Bless Us All!

As you might have guessed, I have been rather busy helping Uncle Melvin (aka UMA) at Toa Payoh and Jurong West lately. Not forgetting Elijah and Timothy Wong and Nicholas! Wahahahaha~ they make boring office life much fun indeed =) and of course, with the occasional disturbing at Cheryl and Pam's desks.

However we always come home dead tired, from stoning and rotting in office. Keep getting sulked at and scolded at by UMA, for nuthin. We were forced to go "mega-shopping" with him at Sim Lim Tower and Square, have irregular mealtimes and add-on desserts, do lotsa labelling on equipments, tidy up the workshop, no handphone usage bcos his office simply has no reception, and no music bcos his computer speakers are spoilt.

He is simply too busy now; always thinking about that screwed up JW building, all the hiccups involved, the mental to-do lists, the instructions to give to us, to feed us hungry kids and scolding the lazy workers in JW. I was complaining to Cheryl just now that those tasks given has make me very retarded, which eventually proved right, and Pam LOL-ed at me today. Darn!

I feel like I'm almost working full-time for the church, only things lacking are my life, the pay and CPF =) LOL! Being a volunteer is good enough lah, just offer help when you can. Pa said that people appreciate volunteers more than paid workers, for the work done. I agree with him.  I'm feeling super sleepy already.

I met up with some of my primary school classmates this month, twice in fact. Nice bunch of people, did some catching up and all. Loads of laughter and retarded stories shared amongst us. Hope to see them again soon =)

Gonna head down to job agency tml, to find some darn temp job to supplement my April BKK trip with Joan. Time sure fly past very fast, friends of mine just keep getting hitched recently lah!

I got a Malay wedding to attend in 2 weeks time, my uni friend is getting married! Yes Elijah Chan, another wedding to attend again =P I got owned when he called to invite me. He have been bluffing me that he was single for the past 2 years, when actually he was already engaged to his fiancee back then. Come to think of it, how could I actually believe a 30 year-old dude so easily right?! Sighs. No $$ to give angbao liao.

My LG Viewty hp software cannot be installed on my Mac, I hate LG! So no pics at all to show you all. Ha!

God, gimme a job soon please!

Goodnight dear people. I'm off to lalaland, for more hours than the usual 6 I had for the past few days.

V'Day With Him!

So how was your Valentine's day, dear friend? Mine was rather good, considering that I was smart enough to celebrate it in advance =) The actual day was more of a simple dinner, foreseeing the massive crazy crowds of people queuing for every stupid expensive restaurant everywhere.

We went to East Coast Park for a lil picnic =) I surprised Cher Hao with FOOD! Yes, with my mama's help of course, we put together some decent finger food and snacks, with my specially-gotten sparkling white wine. I'm so proud of myself, given that I am not the romantic kind and that I suck in doing surprises, ya know.

It was actually to make up for Cher Hao's birthday last year, given that I was super busy back then with my final sem of assignments. I did gave him a lil choc mousse cake but he was not satisfied. I'm still waiting for my bicycle though. -ahem-

Here's how our day went, with all the pics! Hahaha~

We set up our tent, overlooking the sea.

Egg mayo sandwiches
Chicken nuggets and cuttlefish balls
Clam chowder soup

As first inspired by Amos, Pineapple with Hot Dog!
Half frozen crooked bar of Hershey's Cookies N' Creme

Sparkling white wine =P

Hungry already? LOL!
My 4 years-old half-leaking 4-men tent!

Our source of entertainment, Class 95 on the hp radio.
My weak attempt to re-freeze the utterly melted bar of Hershey's in the pack of ice.
Our next attempt to chill the bottle of wine

It worked :D
Our next next attempt to have more cold water, it worked yet again. Smart bf!

3 dudes fishing for dunno-what at high tide at early afternoon

I like to take shots of nature =)
Attempting to open the bottle, so exciting.
Got the outer wired lock thing off the head.
Next up, pull the cork outta the bottle mouth.
It's OFF the mouth! My face = stunned by the super loud POP sound!
Happy to see how far the cork had flown = 10 metres!
Tadah! The cork, and the chilled wine :D
Wooo~ the bubbles! Taste so good =)

We the 酒鬼* (literally translated, wine ghost), got a lil high on sparkling wine =P

Isolation by the beach
Magic carpet flying in the wind~

Coconut trees~ We forgot to do the Indian dance!

Yin Yang in the sky, grey and white clouds!

Our rings, with the precious cork. LOL!

I love you, Cher Hao! We have surely come a long way together. 10 years of rubbish, I love that fact, that you are my best friend, my lover, my family and my soulmate. Oh, thank you for coming down to my church on Sunday.

사랑해요애인!!
There are many more names and faces for you to remember =p Too many youths and adults in this region, no choice. Sorry people, if I haven't intro-ed my bf to you on Sunday, bcos of limited time and stuff happening after service. Another time ya!

Are You A Friend Indeed?

Felt like writing on my day I had with Cher Hao on Wednesday, but well no pics from him yet, so I guess that shall wait. For now, let me write on my pet sensitive issue. Not exactly a controversy but well, I just felt the urge to type my thoughts out again. Heavy stuff ahead.

No offence to anyone in particular, so if you are feeling angry, bang your head on the wall next to you. Thank you.

The topic: Friendship =) Oh wells, it seems like a harmless thing totally, but many things happen just bcos of your friends.

Loyalty, love, care and concern starts to emerge outta your soul when you see your dearest friends in any sort of trouble. You learn to go thru' thick and thin with them, you have all sorts of great memories with them, you have all the chilling sessions with them.

Funnily, over time, your friends whom you thought, will last thru old age together, does not, even though you are truthful to them in all aspects. I dun get it, why are there such unappreciative and self-centred people out there?

In good times, they stick to you like glue. They say, "love ya dear fren, appreciate you for all you've done"... In the end, when certain circumstances changes, e.g. boy-girl relationships, overseas studies etc, they dun give a hoot about you dying on the streets.

Your "how are you?" or "miss you dear fren, let's hang out soon ya?" does not seem to matter to them at all, anymore. It hurts, to be in that kinda one-sided friendship, not to even say lovers. If you can do that to your friends, you can also do that to your lover, your future spouse and such. It's almost like emotional abuse!

It takes two hands to clap. Dun be so full of yourself, you are just a mere insignificant human, like anyone of us.

At this point if you are still reading, and you feel a tinge of guilt, shame or irritation, you can choose to close this blog window, read on or hurl some insults at me, I dun care =)

Why destroy a friendship that you have painstakingly built up and maintained over the years of highs and lows? Why do this to innocent friends of yours? At least tell them upfront so they will not be clueless about your non-existence in that friendship. Dun be such a jerk lah!

Dun treat your friends like they owe you their lives or sth; you ask them to do stuff for you, they have to fulfil it, else you dun wanna hang out with them. That would be very sad of you. If you are scared that your friend will "steal" your potential boyfriend/ eye candy, dun let them know anything.

Sighs. This whole thing sounds so childish now. I'm starting to feel retarded, thinking of such people. I shall stop, bcos I can't type on already. I'm not perfect either, but at least I dun do this to my friends. All I can say is that, I pity you, for being so into yourself, and for losing your dear friends unknowingly.

*As the saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

A friend in need is one who helps when one is in need or difficulty. Cf. Euripides Hecuba l. 1226
ἐν τος κακος γὰρ ἁγαθοὶ σαφέστατοι φίλοι, for in adversity good friends are most clearly seen; Ennius Scaenica 210 (Vahlen) [I like this phrase best!]

Money

Money can buy you friends, but not friendship/ kinship.

Money can buy you fame, but not respect.

Money can buy you lust, but not love.

Money can buy you books, but not knowledge.

Money allows you entry into every country into the world, but not entry into heaven!

Money is the root of all evil.

Moral of the story: Just have enough money to spend and save. Dun be arrogant and/or ungrateful.

1st week of February

:D I had a packed week just on the 1st week of February!

Sadly, given that this is me, I dun have any pics again, simply bcos I dun own a digital camera neither does my hp camera and installation cd wanna cooperate with me. So wells, not much pics again people. Not my fault!

Last Tuesday, we went to Alvin's house for CNY visitation! We had steamboat dinner, mahjong and lotsa fun playing Blackjack! Wahahahaha! This is one of the rare occasions I actually won more than I lost, and I got 5 blackjacks! ^^v I bet small bcos I din wanna lose more $$, I'm so not greedy ok!

Mahjong~
I look so serious bcos my tiles sucks so badly lah!
Some of the food for steamboat =P
All ready to attack the food already!
Bf and me :D
Ying Xi and Robyn :)

Me, Madeline and Ying Xi ^^

Cher Hao was the ultimate winner of over $30, as Alvin and him were battling it out to see who got the cursed 22 points in Blackjack! It was hilarious, we were LOL-ing non stop till stomach pain!

Took some pictures together, and I must say, we have all come a long way together man! Unhappiness thrown out of the 16 storeys below, friendship stays within! I love you buddies so much (: Kudos to us all, who stayed together thru thick and thin!

NG! Alvin couldn't figure out his camera's timer. Joker! His hand was in the pic though. Wahahaha!
SMILE!
Another good take (:

We decided to do what you kids do, the star shape with the feet. Coincidentally, all our footwear was WHITE, excluding barefooted Alvin. LOL! We sure have telepathy =P

Wednesday was my usual outing day with bf. It was good (: Met up with Simon for coffee and left for supper with my Primary 1 classmates! Haha! We had lotsa fun racking up old memories and laughing our heads off at retarded teachers etc.

Thursday, I met up with Ee Ling for lunch and coffee. Good life we have, just like tai tais. Haha!  Dinner was with my Starhub pals for a belated birthday dinner for Darren (: It was fun and good. Dinner at Fish & Co @ Glass House, with a live band playing near our table. As quoted by some of us, this is definitely not the best place for a nice dinner with lotsa chatting around.

You know Fish & Co's pattern of getting all their silly staff to gather together to rar-rar the birthday kid to stand on the chair as they sing their birthday chant and song. Well we heard 4 that evening, and none were for dear Darren. LOL! He threatened to kill me especially, if I got the waiter to our table. We din even get a slice of cake for him bcos all of us were simply clueless what he wants anyway. Haha!

We ended up at Alps Cafe at Prinsep Street, as highly recommended by the pals themselves. Cool place I would say. Would definitely bring my buddies there to chill one day too. You can drink cocktail, wine or beer; and the best part is sing some karaoke songs for FREE! Almost free, if you have to include the drinks lah. Madeline would not be so bored after all =)

Each table is entitled to sing 2 songs each time, and depending on how many tables are occupied that evening, your chances of singing for free more, goes up or down. Haha! Thank God only 3 tables were occupied that evening, so we could play poker cards (also provided by Alps) and sing again. Sadly, the drinks portion was lesser than what I expected, given the usual price we pay at the normal bars. Oh wells, better than nothing lah!

Oh ya, the highlight of the entire evening was Siu Mei and I being the singing clowns lah. We chose the stupidest Birthday Song to Darren, using the song system. The lyrics were weird, we din know how to sing it, other than the "Happy Birthday to you!".

Next for our 2nd song was James Blunt, You're Beautiful. It was meant to annoy Darren and to call him a chio bu lor. He was like, "I'm not a girl, why would I be beautiful? You got it wrong lah!". That is rational and logical Darren for you. Sighs.

Well, at the end of the whole KTV drinking session, he was rather touched and happy that we put aside our pride for him. Haha! We also sang love duets, SHE songs, A*Mei songs etc. Luckily no one took videos of me and Mei singing like fools. Good thing was that we realised all of us sang real good, we can join that whatever Superstar show liao, only when we figure out our Chinese lyrics well enough to smoke thru the auditions. LOL!

Friday, our net group experienced the first-time ever full attendance of 9 people, and 1 visitor! Woo hoo! Awesome stuff, I say! It was quite a feat trying to get them together, and in all, I say that God is good lah.

Bing Sheng then suggested spontaneously about watching a midnight movie together, at Tampines Mall. Totally random and since our net has not done such a thing b4, off we went to watch The Wedding Game (:

Jermyn was the only one enjoying it, while all of us were busy criticising it for the storyline is lame and stupid. We all love Fann Wong's WWF scene most, it was the best of the jokes! That stupid fat hamster, Kukujiao, is so LAME! Other than that, I think Love Matters (with Hui-ge in it) would have been a better movie choice, other than the fact that it was NC16 and Cliff was underage for that. Darn!

Yesterday was Sunday, as usual it was a busy day to clear all sorts of admin stuff with the other leaders. Ha! We had a clumsy birthday surprise celebration for Pamelia at the balcony, with I-dunno-who tipped over the birthday cake onto the carpet, the big balloon and starry birthday card, and that Build-A-Bear Bear from Sylvia. Pam was so shocked, given that I informed her the day before, that it was a supposedly video meeting =X

We had Esther's farewell too, it was teary for all her girlfriends. We were just sitting there looking at them cry during the speech time, holding stalks of roses and chocolates. Haha! We wish her all the best in her uni studies in Melbourne (: God bless you babe!

I went to Cher Hao's house in the evening, specially to visit his family for CNY, bcos everyone was so busy during the last 2 weeks lor. Dinner was nice, especially the pork. Yummy!

That concludes my busy week, spending quite abit of my angbao $$ away (: but still, I love all my friends!

Be A Follower of Blogs Today

You see the lil section of Followers on my blog sidebar? Click to be a follower of my blog, so you will be the first lot to know my latest updated entry! Awesome. I've clicked on most of your blogs to follow, so do the same today =P

You can choose to show your identity publicly or keep it private, like I care.

You can also add blogs on the dashboard if you are using Blogger, the constant updates of the blogs that you regularly read (blogspot, xanga, wordpress, livejournal etc) are accurate and I tried it already. That feature is good, rather then you manually trying to click on every blog link in your Bookmarks to see who have updated their stagnant blogs.

I sound like I'm doing an advert for Blogger sia, well I'm not. Just thought you guys might wanna try that one out.

I'll put up my Batam new year trip and CNY'09 pics soon (:

Love, Oh Love!

Love, oh love!
You are a blessing and a pain.

Why do you often come at odd timings and disrupt peaceful lives?
You leave minds boggled, set hearts fluttering, gives butterflies in the stomach.
Happiness, blissfulness, confusion, frustration and craziness are constantly outta our control.
How then can you be appeased, before you create many more hoo-has?

Take a break.
Dun be too complicated.
Be peaceful.

Let us date in peace.
Let us love each other without the occasionally hoo-has.
Let us last through time.
Let us live happily ever after.

I'm having a headache now bcos of you. Thank you.

*p/s: this is no poem. Ha!

Gimme a Bicycle!

Mr bf, just in case you have racked your brains all weekend long, which I know you definitely did, let me hereby tell you my splendid idea!

I think I should get a BICYCLE!! From beloved you, of course!

Reasons being:
  1. My last year birthday pressie from you (:
  2. Much to your insistence that I should exercise more.
  3. Tone up my already-fabulous body and legs :D
  4. Save on bus transport, especially when I need to go for net all the way to Tampines Mart area every Friday. (thanks Jemima for inspiring and reminding me!)
  5. We can go cycling more in future, instead of going to town to spend $$ on shopping!
  6. Alternative exercise to jogging!
I think those VAILD reasons are good enough for your awesome sponsorship of my awaiting bicycle gift, right love? ^^v

Every1 reading my blog, please be my witnesses hor!

Sassy Girl, Chun Hyung

I spent half of my January watching this kdrama, "Sassy Girl, Chun Hyung". It happens to air this week on Channel U, I think. LOL! The previous kdrama I watched, "Couple or Trouble", same thing happened. Sighs.

Oh wells, the plot is good but the story developed too slow and draggily. It was so painful for me to watch on the wishy-washy story-line unfolding at the speed of a snail. The script has its slapstick antics and lines, but it does have its heartbreaking moments too. The actors did a good job in making my tears flow like Niagara Falls too. Sighs.

I like the casting of the characters, very compatible and funny. The more I watched the episodes, the more I liked the main actress, her facial features are so beautiful, no wonder the character very-rich Uncle Byeon was so madly in love with her. The main actor looked alright, bcos I think the main actor from "Couple or Trouble" looked better with all the muscles and that half Asian half Angmoh look.

Happy ending finally, as expected, but it kinda relieves the viewers (especially me), from more crying and frustration if Chun Hyung tries to go another merry-go-round in the drama. Haha! Hope I wasn't a damper to you, especially if you are looking forward to watching this show on Ch U. LOL! Btw, the thriller shown on TV sucks! Does not depicts accurately on the story.

Oh, Joan & Janice, have you girls watched this show yet?

I'm such a spoiler, I know! ^^
