CASology #246: SEASON

Hello, friends!  It's Tuesday, which means its time for the new cue card at CASology.

This week we are sponsored by Uniko and I used some free digital stamps they offered a while back (found HERE).  I printed them on watercolor paper, die cut, then colored in with colored pencils and outlined with a light blue Copic marker.  I made two cards while I was at it!

The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink's "Wreath for All Seasons" set.  Nothing says spring better than daffodils!

I can't wait to see how you interpret the SEASON cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

STAMPlorations April Challenge: Theme and Sketch

Hello, friends! I'm happy to be here with a card today for the current STAMPlorations April Challenge: Theme and Sketch Challenge where the theme is "stamps and wings."

I followed both the theme and the sketch (although I followed the sketch loosely)!

For my card, I dry embossed the card base and layered on the framed image using foam tape.  I didn't add a sentiment on the outside, although I will add one to the inside of the card when the time comes to use it.  This winged beauty is called "Framed Cardinal" and I colored it with Copic markers, adding a thin frame of light blue Stickles around the edges.

I will also enter this card into the STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today...I appreciate your visits!

Muse: Christmas Visions 79

Hello, friends!  I'm back from my spring break family vacation in Iceland and I was able to find some time to craft in between multiple loads of laundry!

This card reminds me of Iceland...lots of snow while we were there, even though we were there to celebrate their first day of summer!  What a beautiful place...so many scenic photos and wonderful memories.  It was a wonderful trip!

I am playing along with the current challenge at Muse: ChristmasVisions 79 with this fun inspiration card by Muse Natasha Kara:

I followed Natasha's layout with the snow banks and the inked sky as well as the sentiment beneath the main image.  I used my My Favorite Things "Jingle All the Way" stamps and dies.

OK, now I'm off to visit some of the other challenge entrants' blogs...there are some really cute cards in the pool there!  I hope you can find some time to play along, too!

Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #245: GROW

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with my card for the new cue at CASology.

I looked up some quotes related to the cue word and found a few inspiring thoughts I wanted to share...maybe these will spark an idea for a card!

“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” – E.E. Cummings

“Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.” – Walt Disney

“Wildflowers don’t care where they grow.” – Dolly Parton

“You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was.” – Abraham Lincoln

I also came across a very old (as in 1997 old) sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up! that states, "Love grows when shared."  It happened to fit right into a mug image from STAMPlorations, our sponsor this week.  I embossed it in white, then watercolored the mug using Barn Door distress ink.  I fussy cut the mug and placed onto a Hero Arts woven fabric image stamped in khaki ink.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations (Sketchy Coffee Cups); Hero Arts (Large Delicate Woven Fabrics), Stampin' Up! (sentiment)
Inks: MFT (Black Licorice); Simon Says Stamp (Khaki); Distress Ink (Barn Door)

I can't wait to see how you interpret the cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Just a little note that I am taking a little family adventure this week so I am sorry I will not be around to visit your blogs.  I'll catch up when we get home!  I do hope you'll play along with the cue this week!

Thanks for visiting,

Another Card for CASology #244: STRONG

Hello, friends!  I'm back again with another card for the current CASology cue card.

I made another card using the fun digi image "Emily the Elephant" by our sponsor this week, Kitty Bee Designs.

This time, I printed Emily a little larger, and I made the sentiment from Hannelie bigger, too.  I needed a bigger flower gem to cover the existing flower image, and for this card I colored her gray.  (I'm still happy with those white dots on her eyes and cheeks, too!)

I do hope you will be able to play along with us this week!
Thanks for stopping by,

Merry Monday #243: Create a Scene

Hello, friends!  I am sneaking away from loads and loads of work I've brought home in order to share a card I made for the current Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #243: {Create a Scene}.

I love these sweet images from My Favorite Things "Jingle All the Way" stamp set, and I think they can be combined to make the cutest scenes!  I embossed the snow in white and inked the sky after masking the snowy ground.  Each of the stamps was die cut and colored with Copics before mounting on the card.  The scenes you can make with these stamps are endless!

OK, back to the piles of paperwork.  :(

CASology #244: STRONG

Hello, friends!  It's that time again...a new cue card is up at CASology!

This week our sponsor is Kitty Bee Designs and we were given two images to pay with; one is called "Emily the Elephant" and the other is "Kite Fun Panda."  Both depict our cue word well -- strong winds and a strong animal!

I had some fun with both images, and I paired them with a pretty sentiment designed by my CASology Design Teammate, Hannelie.  I printed both images and sentiments directly onto one piece of heavy card stock, then cut in half and scored to make my cards.

First up, this cute kite-flying panda.  I know you need some STRONG winds to keep a kite flying up in the air!

I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder to add interest to the bottom half of the card, maintaining white space.  I added white dots on the kite and the panda's cheeks with a white gel pen...I think it adds a lot of interest to a very CAS design.

Next up is Emily the Elephant.  She is a STRONG animal, but definitely cute, too! My printed image and sentiment were not perfectly centered on the card, so I balanced them by adding a strip of washi tape down the side of the card.

Again, I love the effect of the white gel pen dots on the eyes and cheeks! The little red flower gem is a fun extra touch.

I can't wait to see how you interpret the STRONG cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Hoppy Easter!

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with three Easter cards I made for a couple of challenges.

I'm entering my first card set into the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Speckled.

I was inspired by the speckled eggs in the photo and so I "speckled" the eggs in this cute Jane's Doodles freebie (shared here) with white gel pen dots.  I also speckled the card base by flicking coordinating watercolors all over.

I'm entering my next card into the current AAA Cards CAS Game #87: Shiny Spring.

I always equate Easter with Spring, and the eggs on this card are quite shiny thanks to some Wink of Stella!

These cards will be sent off to my nieces and nephews this week for Easter!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

CASology #243: ICING

Hello, friends!  Welcome back, just in time for our new cue card at CASology.  Check out this cue...it is a perfect fit for the occasion of our CASology Design Teammate Kymona's birthday today!  (Happy Birthday, Kymona!  Enjoy your special day!)

I received this image a while back from a blogging friend and thought it would be the perfect occasion to use it!  The icing is working hard to support all those candles, that's for sure.  I die cut it, colored with Copic markers, and mounted it with foam tape onto a gray card base dry embossed with a happy birthday message.  Quick, easy, and definitely clean and simple!

This cake just makes me chuckle.  This is definitely my type of humor!

I can't wait to see how you interpret the ICING cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team and our lovely Guest Designer interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs for some fun ideas!
