Mom's (and Dad's) New Road

Dad found out about FREE rotomill day and really went with it! They got TWELVE FREE LOADS (big loads) and Shane is out there now smoothing it out. Mom is so excited, and my boys are really glad that they have something that they can rake out smooth (and dig in). So everyone will have to come home sometime soon and try it out. All Vehicles Will Welcome the Opportunity.

Last Minute Details

Things to know before you go:

1) USU Campus @ 11AM. Go to the large quad in the center of campus on the east side of the Old Main Building. It is the one with the giant A on the steeple.
2) You can park in the parking terrace or the A/B Lot right next to the University Inn for FREE on Saturdays.
3) T-shirts are only for alumni and those who ever attended USU. I'm really sorry that there is some confusion about this--I'm breaking the news now so that we won't have any smeared make-up right before the pictures.
4) Ice cream is for everybody.
5) Lunch: bring your own 'main dish' AND something to share with everyone. There are no food assignments. Plates, napkins, utensils, cups, lemonade, water WILL be provided.
6) Lunch will be held at the Agricultural Systems Technology and Education building (ASTE). It is located at 1490-ish North and 800 East. Directions will be given after the pictures on the Quad. This building is held slightly off campus. You cannot walk to it from campus. Drive around to the back of the building for parking.
7) Bring a sweater, dress in layers. Trust me, it has not been very warm and the weather on Saturday will be questionable.
8) There are nice bathrooms in the ASTE building. It will not be an "outhouse" situation.
9) There is plenty of room for frisbee and other games. If you have such items, please feel free to bring them. We are hoping for a chance to get moving around after lunch.

I'm really excited. I hope that you drive safely.

Reunion Countdown

10 Days until the airing of grievances. Yes, people, Festivus, is upon us.

That's right. You've got 10 days to lose 20 pounds, burn off the ugly moles and wash your good underwear.

I hope that you are all prepared for the family picture. It will be taken by our "in-house" professional Billy Gay. Because he is a professional, it is necessary that you be on the Quad of the USU campus by 11AM SHARP. Those of you who fail to live up to the expectations of Uncle Bill will have to listen to him gripe about it for the rest of the day.

Don't forget to bring your lunch and something to share at the potluck. There will be plenty of ice cream for the cheapskates who will just gorge themselves, unrepentant, on the free food.

I have most of the t-shirt orders. Those of you who failed to follow previous post directions will be receiving a shirt in an incorrect size which you will be forced to wear anyway.

There will be restrooms at the lunching location, but no firepit. Please plan accordingly. Directions and further instruction will be given while we are yelling at each other for not being on time to the picture takin'.

Calling All Aggies!

To All Decendants of Norm and LuJean Carver:

We are having a family reunion and a celebration of their Alma Mater, Utah State University. Jean and Norm graduated when it was still Utah State Agricultural College, Jean with a B.S. in Science, Agriculture and Home Economics in 1945; and Norm in 1949 with a degree in Agronomy. Check out these great yearbook pictures of Jean in the Buzzer 1940: AWS Council, Senior Class Portrait, Senior Spotlight, Chi Omega Sorority. As a side note, the guy on the spotlight page with Jean (Burns Crookston) used to be Rose's neighbor in North Logan! Many of their children and grandchildren, including their spouses, have also attended USU--this will be a great chance to visit the campus and reminisce some great memories.
When: Saturday, June 20, 2009
Where: Logan, Utah. Please be ready to meet on the Utah State University Campus in front of Old Main for family pictures around 10:30-11AM. There will also be separate pictures for family alumni. All alumni will be given "game-day" T-shirts to wear in the picture (spouses included)! You need to let Rose know your shirt size, or she will guess and you will just have to live with it. There will be plenty of parking in the Parking Terrace.
What: Typical family reunion festivus. We will have pictures and time to walk around the quad. If you are interested in taking a tour of campus that can be arranged, please let Rose know you are interested. After pictures, we will have a potluck picnic lunch/bring your bucket of KFC-type of lunch at a local pavilion. There will be LOTS of Aggie Ice Cream to go around! Bring your elastic waistband pants! In case of bad weather, we will be headed to the Agriculture Systems Building to have lunch in the "high bay" with some very large tractors and combines--very exciting for children. More information to follow as plans are solidified.
Why: We haven't had a family reunion for a very long time. We are so very excited to host it in this special place. Put this event on your calendar--you won't want to miss hearing about the Carver's college days!
Additional Information: Don't forget that Sunday following is Father's Day! What a great way to celebrate with family. Also, Logan City will be having Summerfest downtown at the Tabernacle all day. This is a really fun event where local vendors sell their arts and crafts. It's a neat time to visit the downtown area. AND the Logan Aquatics Center will be open. If you have kids and swimsuits this is a great place to unwind before heading home. It is inexpensive--don't forget they have two tall tube slides for the brave!

Biggest Loser

Are we really going to end the Biggest Loser on the 31st? Because I will be gone all day that day, but maybe we can talk Mom and Dad into hosting Sunday dinner and we could get together then. Or will we all just weigh in at our houses and take a picture of the scale or something. We should work on the plan. Or should we go another month? Or til the end of the new show?
