going to church on sunday mornings can really test your faith. waking up early in the morning.. taking 1.5 hrs to travel to boon lay can be quite pain-staking esp with hp ringing non-stop informing you of someone's nt coming..

nevertheless.. there's always someone who will make the day. so here are the people who made my day --->

THE PERSON #1: SKYE!
for those of you who duno her. she is my new member in the CG! she's sec 3 and so adorable and sweet. congratualations girl on your salvation! welcome to this new family! =)

it was only the 2nd time she came to svc. and wad reli touched my heart is when she showed me her self-designed notebook, which she specially spend her saturday afternoon to do it. when i opened it up, it was the sermon which i preached on friday! she dint scribble, but instead she wrote it nicely and the words were well-decorated. really felt so appreciated. =) sometimes as a CGL when u preach, u wonder who reli listen and make it a point to remember. but she did, as a sec 2 2-week-old member! =)

thats not all. she quareled with her mum on saturday and instead of shouting back, she went back to her room to God to give her the courage to apologise. and after that prayer, she did! and that was the 1st time in her life she apologised to her mum! I believe God can change the hearts of all the young people, no matter how rebellious they can be. God can do miracles if you choose to believe! =)

if you are wondering how she looks like, here you go!

Skye with her lovely notebook! (finally i can upload all the pics!)

only managed to upload this =( anw this is wad she wrote on her book =)

THE PERSON #2: VICKY!
she's my one-month old friend who just came to join us. she's from vietnam and dun you think that vietnamese girls are quiet and shy, til you meet her! her outgoing-ness will blow you away! today when i saw her, i called her with my most chirpy voice throughout the whole morning. and guess wad? my chirpy voice had exchanged for myself a hug! she simply initiated to stretch out her hands to hug me! it has been a long long long time ever since i received a hug from a friend! woah, i felt so ministered to at that moment. haha

that reminds me of wad dev told me the last time. the church culture. he observed that in Abraham Khoo's church in taiwan, the people are so friendly that hugging one another is like a culture in that church! maybe in spore people are just too busy and self-absorbed and often forgot that they can actually make someone's day by a hug.

THE PERSON #3: HELGA!
my 3-week-old friend in the cg. She's an indonesian, she's like PRE.....TTY!! anw thats not the pt. wad makes my day was she was giving me her full attention when i was talking to her on sunday, believing in wad i told her. it's that trust that she has in my words that made me feel appreciated! =)

HOW ARE YOU MAKING SOMEONE'S DAY TODAY?

How cool is this?!?! SBS Supports my CG! oh yea, we will grow from jurong west to bedok interchange!

anw had my 1st driving lesson today! well, not as fun as wad i expected. was expecting to drive on the road. all the instructor taught me was just all the theory stuff regarding clutch, steering wheel, mirrors.... nvm i'll drive next lesson!

im so pollen-grained now. but feeling effective tho. reading articles and articles about that cute little guy called pollen grain. and how that "humble" calcium ion comes into play. everything falls into place nicely in nature, wad a brilliant and creative Father i have.

Long time no "read"! And to whoever person that spammed my tag board and make it look like graffiti, I'm going to change it!

Oh, and I have decided to type my blog in proper English, with no short-forms and more CAPS. It's always good to cultivate good writing skills! =)

So today I woke up dreadfully, thinking to myself what a long day of packed schedule today even though I only had 2 hours of lessons today. Got to go swimming in the morning with WOMAN at 8am!!! (which I didn't go in the end anyway), then lessons from 10-12, then meet hui ping for lunch, then meet dev at office, then tuition, then get home quickly to do callings..... blablabla...

So i started the day dreadfully. But while on the way to meet Hui Ping after lesson, I just forced myself to get myself together and embraced everything that's ahead, and that's when things turned around.

It was really a good meal with Hui Ping, get to know more stuff about her, which usually the CGL wouldnt have the time to do so with every single member. Then rushed off to Suntec to meet Dev.

Recently I have the opportunity to get to work closer with Dev. All along I know that he's the one that I should press in, but didn't really do it consistently. But today's meet-up somehow change my view on my own leadership.

He taught me about holistic leadership. Being a leader who is able to ultimately produce different kind of people with differentiated talents. Especially with so many people from diversed groups coming into the CG, no doubt i feel stretched. People ranging from Seconday to University, from Singapore to Vietnam to Indonesia. Instead of seeing this as a threat, Dev taught me how to see it as an opportunity to outgrow myself also. He shared his story about how he first started out in campus ministry and slowly expanding himself to wonderful things which he is doing now. Dev's stories always never fail to inspire me =)

Good leadership is based on experiences. Great leadership is based on faith!

We don't just do what we have already did before and what we are comfortable with, but everytime we have to purposefully make oursleves uncomfortable by doing things which we are not familiar with. and this is the time when we need God most too. It is indeed not by strength nor by might, but by the power of the Spirit!

For now, other than seeing the CG grow, i want to see myself grow too with more people coming in. I really pray God will give me a different breed of people who are sharp-looking, alert, willing to serve and loving God and people. Ultimately when these people come, I will be sharpened myself too. I never fail to learn new things when i talk to all the new friends.

Dev taught me about discipleship too. About how to go about discipling people and discipleship is a lifestyle where the lives of the discipler and disciples are so interwined etc..

and I have concluded:

There's no bad clay. There's only bad potter. There's no bad seed. There's only bad ground.

ultimately if i am prepared to make more effort in getting into the lives of my disciples and teach them first-hand, they'll learn fast. it just takes faith and patience to believe that someone will ultimately mirror who you are. So once again, the rise and fall depends on the leader.

there's so much about leadership to learn. meanwhile, i will continue to press into Dev, the discipler! =)

PS: if you have realised, i'm back to my short form and broken english. ha!
