If there were no words, no way to speak, I would still hear you
If there were no tears, no way to feel inside, I'd still feel you

And even if the sun refused to shine,
Even if romance ran out of rhyme,
You would still have my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my valentine

All of my life I have been waiting for all you give to me
You've opened my eyes and shown me how to love unselfishly

I've dreamed of this a thousand times before
In my dreams I couldn't love you more
I will give you my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my valentine

And even if the sun refused to shine,
Even if romance ran out of rhyme,
You would still have my heart until the end of time
'Cause all I need is you, my valentine
You're all I need, my love, my valentine

Beautifully crafted song with touching lyrics and captivating playing of the piano. Old songs never fail to impress.

I chanced upon this other song by the same singer called "Concrete Angel" which touched on child abuse. It's quite a sad music video. The music video can be found here.

Happy Birthday Dad too!

It's so late now, but i had the urge to blog.

Now at this point of time in my life, I have decided to embrace this thinking, that is not to set my hopes and expectations towards any situations too high. That way, I will find myself being less disappointed and affected. If any situation whatsover turns out well or even exceptionally well, the joy of it would be exceptional and I would consider it a blessing from above.

Just like how a foodie hunts down gems of food, one with very high expectations will feel very let down and disappointed should the outcome of the expedition not meet his standards. Sorry, I just had to use this analogy as I'm running out of photos from my albums to upload. Haha. I didn't have high expectations of this bowl of duck noodles from Newton Circus Hawker Centre and it sure surprised me.

Then again, it is impossible for one not to have expectations.

Last night, my tuition teacher talked to us about life and our incomes in future etc. He stated one fact that startled me. He said he couldn't understand how people would trade the 25weeks towards prelims for the outcome of the next 60years of their lives.

And it's so very true that whatever job and future that lies ahead is very much determined by the amount of effort we channel into our studies in the next 25weeks. The opportunity cost of playing away the time I have this year would ultimately be the future benefits in the next 60years of my life.

Touching on the area of the future, it has really made me think about what I want to be in future. If and only if, the incomes of everyone were homogenous, I guess I would find myself in the profession of a social worker, and I'm serious. However, the truth is that incomes can never be homogenous, unless in a communist system, due to the varying demands of different jobs. The job of a social worker is an admirable one, because he isn't paid much and has to share the burdens of so many people. However, his existence impacts the lives of many around him. A noble career in my opinion.

Since sec3, I've wanted to become a child psychologist and I'm quite certain of that career choice for the moment as I enjoy working with children and at the same time I wish to see mentally-affected or autistic children lead normal lives just like the rest of their peers. There's no reason why a child should be denied access to a normal childhood, interacting with other children. Such children should neither be looked down upon nor outcasted in society and it all starts with the way you and I see the potential hidden within them. I know it's not going to be an easy job, nor it is going to be an easy way there.

But for now, the next 25weeks is a top priority to bring me to where I should be.

This photo of mine is dedicated to my country Singapore! Congrats to Singapore upon winning the bid for the 2010 Youth Olympics. I really think we deserved it after so much effort put in not only by the organising committee, but also the citizens of Singapore. I would say it was a nation-wide effort. I'm glad to say that we have certainly make our presence as a little red dot on the map known to everyone. We can look forward to a bright future ahead for us and our future generation.

This piece of consoling news for our nation has also brought up an inspiring point for all of us - that is none of us are too insignificant to make a difference in the sphere of influence around us. Despite our small size and limited resources, we've made it so far as a country.

Okay, I feel like I'm in a "national day parade mood" now. The atmosphere in school when they released the results was very high. Everyone at the plasma screen were screaming and shouting hysterically.

Okay, so today I felt in the mood to upload the photos I took from Vienna, so here they are. I hope you like them. Vienna is the capital city of Austria if I'm not wrong. It is known to be a very musically-inclined city with a rich history. Mozart started off here. Vienna is also known for its pastry and cakes. My stay in Vienna was a rather enjoyable and memoriable one. Not to mention checking into the Hilton Hotel over there was a great luxury as I have never stayed in such posh hotels before. Somehow, the tour group checked us into the Hilton.

VIENNA THROUGH MY EYES (PART 1)

Train station at Salzburg, on the way to Vienna.

The train cabins in Europe are really spacious and interesting.

The hotel lobby of The Hilton.

They have many delicious cakes on display! We couldn't resist and bought one.

Our hotel room, which looked very nicely dressed up.

I decided to explore the city-centre by myself on the first night.

There's this big cathedral in the city-centre.

There are many horse carriages outside the cathedral, waiting to pick up tourists.

The interior of the cathedral.

Candles were placed there in rememberance of Mother Theresa.

A typical "statue" found in the city-centre.

It was really crowded and packed with hordes of tourists.

There were many make-shift stalls set up, selling various soveneirs.

That's me, posing while studying for my sister to take photo of. Haha!

Buffet breakfast at the Hilton is the bomb. There's this area not in the photo that has the cook frying waffles, crepes, eggs etc. for you. The waffles and crepes with chocolate syrup are the best!

VIENNA THROUGH MY EYES (PART2)

We returned back to Vienna after touring the other eastern european countries. And our first stop upon returning was this Marche-like restaurant.

One of their many delectable pastries.

Even more pastries to tempt our tastebuds. It was unfortunate that I had eaten too many cakes and pastry till I didn't want to eat antymore.

A rather attractive looking mini-cooper that caught my attention!

If you're wondering where did the first chocolate cake come from, you've got your answer right here. The first chocolate cake in the world was made at the cafe which is in the centre building.

We then visited the palace, which unfortunately does not allow photography inside.

Family photo!

A panorama view of the palace. The suites inside are spectacular!

Mom and Dad.

They had these christmas market stalls set up outside the palace.

Many benches for people to sit with their loved ones and admire the crowds.

I liked the compostion of this photo and the elements in it.

A better view of the cathedral I went into a few days ago.

Yes, there're no kangeroos in Austria and they're proud of it.

Walking down the main shopping lane with my parents.

Some building which I forgot what the name was.

Dad and Mom couldn't resist not taking a photo.

Some Red-Indian buskers drawing a large crowd.

My dad decided to make use of the tripod to take family photos. We took quite a few photos and it was quite fun.

That's Vienna's history museum if i'm not wrong.

I really liked this photo a lot! This is their parliament house. Very beautiful.

Family photo with it! The best family photo one can get. Only a camera on a tripod can take it. :D

Frontal view of the Parliament Building. I'm glad there wasn't a crowd and the sky was nice.

The town council building with a really huge christmas market outside.

Some building that was opposite the road.

They were having some activities inside the building.

The corridor along the entrance.

A christmas market stall selling various christmas stuffs.

Frontal view of the town council building and their christmas tree.

It was really really packed and crowded.

How could one resist the temptations of all the food there!

Soon it was goodbye to Vienna at the airport.

Yup, that's a whole load of photos. I hoped you enjoyed viewing the photos. If you want any of the photos you can ask me to send you the larger resolution version. Vienna's a really nice place. It was quite unfortunate I got quite tired of taking photographs, hence the lack of inspiration.
