Back to School

I felt pretty gypped this summer with all I wasn't able to do as I spent half of it as the size of a whale and the other half recuperating from major surgery and childbirth.  In the last few days, however, I've come to terms with and even enjoy the idea of the coming fall season (my favorite time of year).  It seems like Jonah barely finished last school year and registration crept up on me!  Thank goodness I was able to get him in.

His first day of school was yesterday and we spent some time meeting and greeting his new teacher, Miss Wendy.  We worked on his art project for the year while Sophie was completely taken over by the giant dollhouse in the classroom (complete with elevator).  Let's just say she wasn't eager to leave.

Venture to Colorado

My ten year reunion was a couple of weeks ago and I decided I might as well try to go and see a couple of people I have seen since I graduated high school.  We didn't end up making it in time for the reunion but a trip to Colorado is ALWAYS a good idea and we had a wonderful time with my parents.

The kids did a wonderful job in the Bushmobile  car (yay for DVD players!) and the girls didn't make a peep until it was time to stop and eat.  We made pretty good time!

My dad met the girls for the first time and they got plenty of snuggles from Grandpa and Mimi.  Jonah got to go fishing with Grandpa on the boat and the kids loved being at the lake.  Mimi spoiled the kids, as usual, with various prizes.

We enjoy the symmetry of two babies!

First Day at Church

I was getting cabin fever and decided to take the girls to church for the first time a couple of weeks ago.  I was nervous about the amount of attention they'd be getting and didn't want any hands-on viewing so I stayed for the first hour and left.  Nursing twins in the mother's lounge at church wasn't something I was ready to tackle yet (but have since, even without my pillow!).

I decided its pretty pointless to dress babies for church since they end up being covered by a blanket the entire time anyway, but I couldn't resist putting them in these cute skirts!

Sophie and Jonah love their little sisters and take every opportunity they can get to snuggle, hug, or kiss them.  Tummy time is a great time for that!

Eloise and Pearl still love to be close to each other.  I'm pretty sure they can sense when the other is not next to them and they'll sometimes wake up after I've taken one out of the bassinet before the other.  I can't wait to see what good friends they'll be!  They're almost too big to fit into this bouncy seat together but it sure is cute!
