Singing About Rain

We're about to get some rainy weather this weekend...it will be the first real rain of the season! It did mean moving some of our outdoor plans around, but California is in need of the rain so I'm glad.

Mid-autumn festival is coming up on Tuesday, and I realized we don't have any mooncakes. I'm too lazy to go to Chinatown and get some, or to go wait in line for some really good mooncakes. Is there any good mooncake delivery service available?

I've been feeling pretty burned out and down these past months because of work, work, and more work, and feeling like I don't have enough break or time to myself. I finally booked some time off to go to Hawaii next month - I can't wait and am super excited! I really want to get away, travel, and not think about work or life for a while.

Hope this trip will refresh me, and it's definitely something to look forward to and tide me through for the next 2 months or so.

On to singing about rain... - did any of you manage to guess the next song cover I did?

-Drum roll-

It's Nan Quan Ma Ma's Xia Yu Tian (下雨天), which literally means Rainy Day. I used to hate the song because it ends on this weird minor note, and I would sing in my head to end it on a major note. But the more I listened to it, the more it caught on...and now it's one of my favorite go-to karaoke songs!

It's actually quite hard to sing because it's a little jazzy and a little sad and on an awkward high key, but I gave it a try anyway. I sang it a little differently from the original singer Lara, and hope you'll enjoy!
