THE PROPOSAL; I'm Engaged!

6th December 2014

 I've been of happy vibes lately because this month has so many happy occasion. I'm still feeling the heat right now. A special moment I will never forget for the rest of my life..........

  

This post is for my keepsake and I want to document every single moment of it here.

 It all happened on the night of 6 December 2014.

Woke up to receive hongbaos from my parents. They knew I won't be around to celebrate my actual birth-day with them this year as I will be in Bali on the 9th with Bee. So they gave it to me earlier :) So sweet of them.

Got myself prepared for the night as we will be meeting our close friends for dinner at PS Cafe. As I was curling my hair, my parents told me they're heading out for dinner. Bee was supposed to pick me up at 6pm from my place and then to Vetica Salon to fetch Bianca & Libby along the way. We're supposed to meet the rest at 6.30pm so I informed them that we will be slightly late. Bee seems busy the whole day. He told me he will be late because he needs to settle his work stuff before going on a long break. And I believed him -.-

Time checked: 6.20pm - He finally came to pick me and surprised me with a sunflower when I got into the car! He said I'm the superstar today so he got me one. Haha!

Bianca & Libby gave me a stalk of rose when they got into the car hehe so sweet of them!

I teased them if they've took it from the church LOL! =p

Finally reached PS Cafe.... Table reserved for the 11 of them! I'm so glad all of my close friends were gathered together..

Ordered our main dish and how can we forget the truffle fries!!!

I love the Christmas Tree! So big and beautiful!

Finally wore my new maxi dress out :) It's kinda revealing so I only dare to wear it during the night haha!

Went to take photos with the Christmas Tree while in the mist of eating haha!

Libby even came out of an idea of "stealing" some birds deco to decorate her salon hahaha!

Eh! Smile leh! Hahahaha! Now I know why he looked so nervous and as though his soul wasn't there the whole night! He was so stiff like he isn't behaving like himself! HAHAHA!

Thank you for the birthday gift! Each year, they gave me hair products whenever we meet out haha!

I was touched to learn that they closed their business early for the day just to make it for the "dinner". They just brushed me off by saying some of their customers couldn't make it for their appointment when I asked. LOL.

What's with that face Libby??!!

After our meal, the staff surprised me with a Birthday cake from behind haha!

Honestly speaking, I did suspected he will propose to me that night as I felt like everyone were acting abnormal and being very caution with their words and because few weeks ago, there's this funny incident when I was using his phone to check some bank transaction while he went to order KFC, a groupchat popped out on top and it stated "Proposal......" I don't know about the content but I saw Fiona's name typing away... Imagine that moment, I felt like I caught him red-handed and I sweared my face turned Red as I didn't expect him to text my friends to plan about the proposal. Because if the proposal wasn't for me then why am I not added in the groupchat right? So I'm pretty sure they're planning for my proposal haha!

I thought he will propose in Bali or something. But I kept muted when he came back and kept smiling to myself but at the same time I didn't want him to know that I knew something was going on. I tried to forget what I saw (I did not read the conversation in that groupchat, don't wanna spoil my own surprises) though the image kept flashing thru my mind. Haha!

They got me this Salted Caramel Cake which I didn't get to eat them! We were too stuffed from our dinner so they suggested going somewhere else for some drinks and chill at Clark Quay.

So I thought maybe the proposal will be at the pub haha!

The wishing stick stated "Happy Joyce's Day" which I didn't suspect anything! I was smiling away and never really realise the meaning behind the word haha!

One cake only but so many hands helping us to block the candles haha!

At that moment, they took back the wishing stick and I'm like.. for what? I wanna keep it leh!

And the girls handed me a PANDORA bag! Thanks girls!

Time checked: Left at 9pm.

The drama begins.....

We spilt into 2 cars. Our next location, "Clark Quay".

Cherie, Libby & Bianca sat our car and 5 min into driving, Bee took me that he need to call his cousin, Gary (at this point, he purposely turn on the car speaker to talk so all of us could hear their conversation and also to make it sounds real so that I won't suspect anything which I really didn't) as he received a text from Gary that he needed Bee to make a trip back to the factory which is all the way back to Jurong to sign some last minute contract before we fly off to Bali the next day. Bee was in-charge of this contract and he did told me that he's the only person who can sign the papers so I believed him.

At that point, I was kinda pissed off like.. Eh hello!? Just now at work don't want sign then now so late already then call. Somemore another group is waiting for us at Clark Quay then we still purposely go back factory to sign the contract for what? But anyway, I called to inform the other group that we were be 30 min late as we need to drive back to the factory. Ask them to chop a table first.

It was a 15 min drive to Jurong and half way thru, Cherie suddenly said that she needs to go ATM to draw money to pay for her event costume which she needs it by tomorrow morning and I asked her how much did she need ($50!!!), I might have the amount and even suggested lending her first and she can transfer me on the spot but she kept saying don't need, she doesn't want to owe people money. Hahaha! I still didn't suspect anything but just thought WTH $50 only ma!

So I thought it was for real and we went 2 ATMs (both different locations), the first one too many indian workers queuing up (we don't feel safe) so we drove to another ATM which is nearby. Libby & Cherie got off the car to queue but after awhile, they came back saying the queue wasn't moving. So she said nevermind lah, the most tomorrow morning she wake up earlier to draw money and I'm like "Oh Okay, let's quickly go get the contract signed and rush back to join the rest at Clark Quay" as I don't want the rest to wait for us for too long.

Bee said he wasn't sure if the contract is at the old or the new factory so he drove to the old factory first and even "called" his worker to open the gate for him (worker stay there) but came out not there so we thought it could be at the new factory.

Took another 5 min drive to the new factory and Bee stopped the car infront of the gate, he gave me the gate key and asked me to get down to open the gate for him. I'm like.. WTH?! So dark, I can't even see anything. But I still get down to try figuring out how to switch on the gate lah..... haha!

So this is what happened next.................................

(I never knew that Cherie already started video-ing me hahahaha!)

Time checked: 9.30pm

As the gate moving upwards.... I spotted lightnings......... And to my horror!!!!!!!!

My first word that came out from my mouth was, "OMG!!"

I've never expect my proposal will be at a factory! All along I thought I will get proposed to at the pub or in Bali!

(This is taken from inside) My expressions was priceless! I was so taken apart and shocked when I saw the rest of the group, colleagues, his uncles and even my family standing there!!!!

So the ATM drawing money were just an act to buy time for them to have amber time to arrive earlier than me and standby for my arrival!

SUPER BIG SURPRISE FOR ME!!!

A birthday celebration turned out to be more than just a mere birthday gathering. Only to find out something even better was going to happen. The engagement just took it to a whole new level lah!

Haha too shocked and nervous, don't know where to walk!

I was then lead to the centre of the "stage" to see a video montage that he had prepared for me....

Teary moments.... I don't know how to react but tears of joy kept falling down my cheek. Everything was too overwhelming!

I was so nervous until he began massaging my shoulder. I guess he was nervous too! Because he had yet gone down on his kneel to propose LOL.

The video montage was kinda lengthy.. 5 min video and imagine me standing there awkwardly with all eyes focused on me, camera-man videoing & taking photos non-stop while waiting for him to pop the question. Nervous wreck!

Kudos to him for putting so much effort in making this proposal a success and an unique one which I've never expect it to be. I can never ever imagine my proposal will be at a factory haha.. Unique indeed :) He even individually texted my colleagues and friends to join us on that night. That clearly shows his sincerity.

What's made me so touched is that he took the initiative to go over my place when I'm not around and asked my parents for my hand. To take care of me for the rest of his life. Upon hearing that from my friends, I teared so much!! So sweet lah this man of mine.

And the ending part of the video..... this appeared...........

He gathered all my friends to pose this and edited it like that.

And finally..........

He got down on his kneel and asked me to marry him.... After a long 11 years of dating : )

Me happily receiving the bouquet of roses hahaha! He told me actually he wanted to get me 99 roses but he knew I will go mad if he ever did because it's unpractical and expensive in SG.

In the video, he said it's the 2nd time opening the box. 1st is at the shop to collect the ring and 2nd time is this moment..

Will You Marry Me??

Yes, I do!

Hahahaha! I was so nervous my voice was shaking.... Smiled until mouth cannot closed!

The banner he did for me was so huge and I love the lightning, so romantic!

The roses so beautiful!!!! So sad next day going Bali cannot bring it along with me!

I realised whenever I received flowers, I will never get to admire it for long coz I'm usually not around in SG on the next day. Just like the previous time when I received flowers from him during V'day, we went BKK the next day hahaha!

I was brought into the air-con room and the girls handed me this handmade birthday scrapbook done by them!! Took them a few trips to Cheryll's place to get it done from srcatch. OMG so touched!!!!!! I love it so much!

I love every single page, every sticket, every colour combination, every shape, every word!

Thanks girls! It was so nicely done!!! So creative!!! =)

Browsing thru it and kept smiling to myself. They gathered the photos taken over the past 8 years.

Hahahaha! They knew it coming...... This appears on the last page of the scrapbook.

They even extracted out our photos hahahaha!

I couldn't stop tearing when I heard about him going up to my place to ask for my hands from my parents :,)

I was truly touched.... because he knew it really means alot to me... getting my parents blessing to our marriage.

They brought out the wishing stick again hahahaha! Now I now why earlier on they took it back!

"Happy Joyce's Day" instead of "Happy Birthday Joyce".

Because it's iindeed my day!!!

The guy on the right is Bee's cousin (Gary) which I mentioned earlier on...

Heard from Bee that Gary helped him alot and even suggested ideas to him. It was hilarious when Bee told me that they went through countless of rehearsal speech over the past few days (in regards to the phone call in the car earlier on) in order not to rise my suspect. HAHAHA! Damn funny this one!!!

Bee ordered all these pastries but I was too busy smiling away, admiring my ring =p I didn't get to eat any of those haha! How can!?

It was getting late. All of us cleaned up the place and left the factory at 12am. Got home at 1am after fetching Jasmine, Libby & Bianca home.

He said it was mad rush, rushing here and there to collect the stuffs like a mad dog!

He said, "Planning this proposal once is enough!"

Let me show off abit on my Solitaire engagement ring that he got it customize 2 months ago and only ready for collection just few days before the proposal! =p

After dating for so long. he definitely knows me best! Got me exactly what I wanted...

a "5" sprongs settings instead of "4", in a acceptable size (at least to me), a good grade & clarity is important :)

So in love with it, I can't stop admiring :)

Too much happiness in a night I couldn't take it!

Pardon me but I can't decide which to post.. So I ended up posting all hehe :)

Thank you each and everyone of you who made this special night a memorable one. The cahoots gang who made this proposal a success, for helping Ming with the planning, acting so well infront of me, making those handmade scrapbook, for treating me dinner, my families who came all the way down to witness the union of us at this hour, his uncles & cousin (Gary) who plays an important roles, for preparing the set up to make the place so beautifully, everyone who wished us on FB/Instagram/personally texted me and last but not least.....

To my fiance who made it possible.

You're the BEST thing that I ever had and I felt like I must have done something good in my past life which is why God sent you to me in this life. I just can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you as your truly wife :)
