The Great Pumpkin...

came to our house and here's the proof. We had fun at the pumpkin patch taking a hayride to pick out our own pumpkins and then bring them home and carve them and/or paint them. The kids look forward to this fun family tradition every year as do we.

Alumni Choir Reunion

On October 17th Joshua and I had the opportunity of returning to Ricks College (now known as BYU-Idaho) to an Alumni Choir Reunion which I was a part of. This was a wonderful opportunity to return and sing with not only the current choirs at BYU-Idaho, but with all of those who participated in any choir at Ricks or BYU-Idaho over the years. I believe many of the years were represented even as far back as the 40's and 50's. It was Awesome! An experience I was thankful to be a part of. In these pictures you can only see me at the banquet they had after the concert, but I am also in the other two from the rehearsal we had. I am in front of the conductor in one of the first few rows. Anyway this is all I could get since I left my camera at home(I hate when that happens). While in Rexburg we had an enjoyable time visiting with my Aunt and Uncle that live there and Josh showed the kids all around campus and the places that he lived and I lived and where we attended classes and so forth. It was fun for them to see and know where he and I dated and first met and all of that. It was fun for Joshua and I as well. We have wonderful memories of those days that we miss at times, but wouldn't trade what we have now for the world.

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission...

I thought this was worth posting mostly because I need proof in writing. Two weeks ago out of the blue Hyrum told his dad that when he is old enough to go on a mission he said, "I hope they send me to Mexico because I love taco's." Now you have to know that prior to this day Hyrum has always told us he is not going on a mission. Even when we have the missionaries over for dinner he sits up at the table begrudgingly. We have never mentioned going on a mission or anything. We don't know why he doesn't want to go or why he doesn't like the missionaries. There have been two missionaries in the past 6 years that have won him over that he has liked. I am thankful to them(Elder Hinson & Elder Reed). I hope he remembers that he wants to serve a mission and that there are more places than mexico that will feed him taco's. He is even wearing a tie every sunday against his will without making a big deal out of it.

4TH OF JULY

We had an eventful 4th of July out at some friends of ours in Payette. Hyrum had bamboo from a sparkler drop on his foot as you can see in the picture. We almost found ourselves in the emergency room. Luckily we all acted fast and got cold water and ice on it then some mela gel(burn cream) and it healed fine. He may or may not have a scar. Time will tell. We are truly blessed as well as he.
COUSIN TIME!

Julie and Ryan came for a visit to Boise from Minnesota. The kids had fun reuniting again. Two days wasn't long enough, but we'll take what we can get. Thanks McPherson's!

RIVER RAFTING

We had a fun time River Rafting down the Boise River with my family in July. Thanks Baldwins, Herzogs, and Nelsons for a great time!

AT GRANDMA AND GRANDPA HERZOG'S

We had a fun week with Grandma and Grandpa Herzog in Las Vegas playing chess, playing cards, golfing and of course swimming in their pool. Can't wait to go again!

Here's the vacuum Kayla........

No this is not child labor. It went something like this.....

Kayla: Mommy you need to vacuum the floor
Mommy: Oh I do Kayla?
Kayla: Mommy it's dirty you need to vacuum it.
Mommy: Here's the vacuum Kayla.
She actually enjoyed helping. I think she found herself a new chore.
On this note Joshalyn told me the other day that she was bored so I started naming several things that she could do some of which were chores, but not all.(I think she decided she wasn't bored anymore, because I haven't heard her say that since)
The joys of being the parent............and maybe the child. I guess you'll have to ask my kids about that. They're so darn cute I can't help but love them and the things they say and most of all their perception on things.
