Griefs are part of life. Sometimes grief caught you by surprise and other times, you kind of expect it. No matter how and when it hits you, grief is not a very pleasant experience. However grief in way could be a good thing

Grief serves as a wake up call to the dreams and illusions you are having. For it makes you doubts, makes you questions about your view on life, on anything: The people and things that you believe so fervently would result in your happiness,The situations that you view as your suffering.

In other words your belief system crumbles down.

and you know you would never be the same again.
