I've been a painting fool lately. The urge to paint just hit me like lightening and I've painting often the last couple weeks. Here is one of the fruits of my labor. I love how this turned out. The Black Pug just seems to "POP" off the canvas. Actually this started out as a normal gallery wrapped painting canvas....A BIG ONE. Then I covered it with fabric. The Pug is painted on the fabric.

So I finally had some time to do some painting. Yeah! I wanted to share with you all my latest...

This first one is a original mixed media collage that measures 8x 10 on gallery wrapped canvas. I LOVE, LOVE the colors on this one. The Pug really "pops". Original Fawn Pug Painting

I just finished this painting up last night. It's titled "The Tilt". I'm sure many of you have seen this head tilt before. It's as if they are intently listening to every word you say with great interest? Either that or they think we're nuts LOL!

In any case, I wanted to capture this on canvas. This is a original acrylic painting done on a 8 x 10 gallery wrapped canvas and is now available in my Etsy shop HERE.

I just love these! They are great for scrapbooking, altered art and you can even make gift tags with them. Each of the 6 Pugs measure 3 1/2 x 3 inches and are so simple. Watercolor Black Pug Painting

I just finished up this digital watercolor painting of Ch. Coryrex's Shooting Star and wanted to share it with you all and see what you think. Do you like it?

I'm new to Photoshop so it's a huge learning curve for me, but I'm getting better at it as I go along. I have used Paint Shop Pro for so many years it's hard to switch, but Photoshop can do so much more.

In any case, it started out as a normal photograph and it took me about 2 hours to add the colors, details and such. I like how it turned out. And it has that "Pop Art" look to it. I'll try a fawn Pug next time.

Altering old Pug photographs in Photoshop

OK, so I'm a Paint Shop Pro kinda girl and am finding Photoshop to be like suddenly finding myself in a foreign country. So much to learn! In any case, I did manage to learn the wonderful trick of blending photos. Basically, you take two separate photos and blend them together. It's pretty darn nifty to be honest. Here are the results of my playing.

First I took these two photos.

And blended them so they became this:

Pretty neat huh? Not perfect of course but I'm still learning (;

New Pug Postcards and Mini Tags

Here are some new Pug postcards and mini tags I created. I've had so many request for new postcards. I'm glad you all enjoy them. They are pretty fun to send to friends and family in the mail. Just print them on cardstock, write your note on the back, address the front and add a stamp and pop it in the mail. These sort of have a touch of vintage whimsy to them and I really like how they turned out. For a larger view just click the button below.

Original black and fawn Pug Painting - Lofty Journey

My imagination tends to see Pugs in a variety of whimsical situations. I wonder where these two are headed? Perhaps they just wanted to take a hot air balloon ride and see the world from a higher elevation? This is a mixed media painting done on a 15 1/2 x 12 1/2 solid oak cupboard door. The sheet music came from antique song books.

The edges have been sanded for an aged look.

Pugs are Angels in desguise Printable Tags

Brrr, it's freezing here! The Pugs are all snug in their beds with visions of liver snacks dancing in their heads. So while they were snoozing I created these printable tags. These cute little tags measure 3 1/4 inches x 2 inches wide and each sheet prints out 6 tags. They would make great little gift tags. A portion of the proceeds will go to Pug rescue. More Pug Pendants

I've been having so much fun creating these bubble charm pendants. This one I just listed in my Etsy shop and it's made from my original Pug artwork. I've made and sold several of these actually and wearing one as we speak. I've made the flat ones as well but these bubble charms are my favorite. I guess because the way they magnify the image and also they just simply "Feel" good to the touch.

I've had several requests for these pendants in black and I'm working on that. I know many of you have black Pugs and I think these would look darling in black as well.
