I think there's something more, life's worth living for.
                       Who knows what could happen.
Do what you do, just keep on laughing.
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day.
I'm gonna live today like it's my last day.

Where are you and I'm so sorryI cannot sleep I cannot dream tonightI need somebody and alwaysThis sick strange darkness Comes creeping on so haunting every timeAnd as I stared I counted Webs from all the spidersCatching things and eating their insidesLike indecision to call youand hear your voice of treasonWill you come home and stop this pain tonightStop this pain tonight
"i miss u"-blink 182

Life is a work of art- you gotta paint it colorful
Can make it anything you want
Don't have to stick to any rules
You don't need a high IQ to succeed in what you do
You just gotta have no doubt just believe in yourself
                               Doubters, non-believers, once were dreamers
One of these days you'll open up your eyes
                               And you'll realize
                               "drama queen"

Ohhhhh
It seems like I can finally rest my head on something real
I like the way that feels
Ohhhhh
It's as if you've known me better than I ever knew myself
I love how you can tell

All the pieces, pieces, pieces of me

lousy week...sch started on mon...first day of sch and i got bombarded with loads of assignments...how interesting.ok...shall not bore everyone with the description of the two major 1500-word essays that'd take up 20% of the final assessment and another media and comm project tt'd take up 10%.we've to come up with real advertising ideas like the name of the product(an mp3  player),the slogan, print and tv advertisements, ambience advertising methods, design of the product..oh crap...i just did it...as in describing my assignments..well,whatever...sch sucks.
then i had to pay my bloody fine...$200...then it was the internet connection...cant be bothered anymore..just live without internet.

my thots after the match.

"emotions in humankind is an amazing creation."
(those who know me well would know im qt an emotional basketcase..hah.reminded of the many times i teared. e.g. when my dad left when he followed me to melb, when i fell sick and missed my parents in sch, also in sch when stress got the best of me and i had to handle the responsiblity of being the phy rep...teo might remember tt incident.)

"maria is one hell of an inspiration."
"love, determination, perserverance can bring u anywhere u want and achieve even the toughest of goals."
"maria has damn good genes."
"man...wish i could be her.imagine wat i could do with the 560,000 pounds prize money!!"
"i miss my mom and dad..."
"gosh..wished summer would come soon so i can hit some balls."
"roddick's playing the men's final tmr...if he wins..wimbledon 2004 shall officially be the best yr in tennis according to me!"

tennis is not a boring sport to watch!!

watched the wimbledon women's singles final yesterday night.
S.Williams v.s. M.Sharapova.
when the russian girl was up a set against the my-muscles-are-so-huge-my-dress-is-ripping serena, i knew she had a chance of clinching the title.i realised the short 2 setter was over when maria kneeled down with her hands in her face and tears in her eyes.all the hard work had paid off.greatly.very emotional final match too.every1 thot she wouldnt have a chance against the defending champ(just look at the diff in the muscle mass of the 2).serena wasnt playing her best(commemtator said she'd lost tt aura of supremacy she used to exude..i agree) but maria definitely beat her with the greatest of her calibre.and mind u,at just 17.she's a tough cookie man.mantained focus thruout the match.not a hint of slight distraction or a smile.up until now she had been deemed the "next kournikova",pin-up girl by the media but begged to differ.i quote her,"i am myself, maria sharapova".
a lil mention of her humble background.she and her dad moved fr siberia to florida with just 700 bucks and he enrolled her into the famous nick bollettieri(not sure of the correct spell9) tennis academy when she was 7.he worked his butt off to support her and to pay for ex tennis lessons.while she stayed in a boarding hse for 2 yrs without seeing her mom but her dad visited during the wkend.trained real hard at nick's boot camp.she didnt speak a single bit of eng when she first arrived but learned the lang in just 4 mths.qt impressive eh.
when the match was over, she ran up to the stands where her greatest fan(her dad) hugged her like his most prized possession.her relationship with her dad reminded me of mine with my pa.i swear that that emotionally charged scene made me tear and most imptantly, maria sharapova earned herself yet another fan...
she looked at the venus rosewater dish( the name of the trophy) like a child looking at first toy ever handed to her....she's won her first glam slam title at wimbledon...with many more to come.

brief update on my life in melb...

one wk of my hols has just passed.all my sporean friends went back except me.did some shop9.spent qt a lot.just kept swiping my card.couldnt help it.hope my dad doesnt get a heart attack.for those who dont know.im taking 5 subjects now.english for academic purpose (aka EAP),history of ideas and three electives maths 1,psychology and media & communication.im also staying alone in a studio apartment not one of those yucky hostels(thank gdness!!).but my rm doesnt have internet connection yet i always go to a friend's place to check my email.melb is qt diff from spore.even in the city...life is not as busy.pple take things slowly.they dont rush like mad like in spore.on wkends, pple have breakfast at cafes or just have coffee and relax.i like it here.where everyone's really friendly (pple ask u "how's ur day?") while in spore noone gives a damn about other pple's lives other than their own.not tt they dont want to but they cant 'cos they're loaded with too much of their own probs in sch or at work to stop and think about others.
so all u sporeans out there...i know life in spore is nothing but fast paced and busy..but do take time out to relax and wind down.there's more to life than just the cert tt'll u get in 2 yrs' time.like jo teo mentioned...just watch the apprentice.the most qualified guy got evicted first.what does tt say about the imptance of qualification?one advice for u.love what u do or rather just do what u love...only then will u succeed..donald trump'll talk about it later in the show (he says that u should love and understand what u sell to others).take it from teo..she dropped chem cos she realised tt she hates it and knows tt she's not gonna take a course in uni tt requires chem..u guys scare me when i read ur blogs..hah.relax pple...really..dont get so stressed out

(tt's why locals think asian students are all heirs to like the hilton empire or sth).
12) locals hate their PM John Howard and make fun of him on talk shows and skits
(like imitate the way he speaks and comment on how ugly he looks...damn mean...but hilarious..do that in spore and they'd prob put u behind bars..haha).
11) local Free-to-air TV do not censor most programs containing any kind of explicit content e.g. sex and the city, the sopranos.

new release...a lil bit of review

MOVIE: Mean Girls
Cast(character in the movie): Linsay Lohan (Cady Heron),Rachael McAdams(Regina),Lacey Chabert(Gretchen Weiners),Jonathan Bennett(Aaron),Amanda Seyfried (Karen Smith)
Rating: 4.5/5
Official site URL: http://www.meangirlsmovie.com

Summary: Cady (pronounced as 'katie') is a 16-yr-old who has been home schooled all her
life and she gets introduced into the real world of high school when her family moves from Africa to America. Her parents, both zoologists, decide it's time for their daughter to be enrolled into a high school like all regular American teens. What her parents do not know is the social rules, psychological warfare and MEAN girls that anticipates and make high school living for their innocent daughter, Cady. On the first day of school, Cady is introduced to the different cliques that exist in her high school by her two new friends, Damien (the guy too gay to function) and Janis (the goth girl).Fellow highschoolers are categorised in various categories according to where they sit during lunch. There is the Asian nerds, the cool Asians, the blacks, the coolest people Cady will ever meet (that's janis and damien according to janis), most important of all...the plastics. They consist of the Queen Bee, Regina and her two sidekicks Gretchen(the bootlicker) and Karen(the bimbo). Cady is invited to sit with them on the first day.
Cady then falls for Regina (the leader of the plastics)'s hot ex boyfriend, Aaron. At the same time, Cady's two new friends decide its a good idea for her to play espionage, get close to the plastics so they can know all about them. Things start to heat up when Cady finds Regina kissing Aaron at a party. She decides to give Regina a taste of her own medicine....she becomes a mean girl herself...
In the presence of jocks, mathletes, the plastics, North Shore High turns into a jungle that Cady is ever so familiar with. She is torn between her high position in the social ladder and her true self where she has to make a choice.

Review: Based on a book by Rosalind Wiseman called "Queenbees and Wannabees". A great movie for all the girlies out there. Great cast and wonderful wardrobe. Listen out for interesting wardrobe rules the plastics have (Pink on Wed, Jeans only on Fri, hair only to be bunned or tied up once a week). Not only is it a film about the politics of the teenage social world, it's also about self reflection and the enlightenment to the more important issues in life rather than just popularity in high school. Characters are also easy to relate to (esp if you're from all all-girls school. my friend said her school was exactly like that). Go catch it...definitely worth a watch. Enjoy!! Write about your feelings towards it after u watch it in the space for comments. Also check out the website!!!
