Ice Cream Man!

Maddox & Mason's first ice cream man experience!
Of course Mason had to have the spiderman ice cream, and Maddox chose the Iron Man one!!
And of course, Maddox was not willing to lose even a drop of his Iron Man ice cream! I think they will be listening for the Ice Cream man all summer! =)

It has been a while.....

So much has happened since I blogged last... The little super heros in the last post are now official preschool graduates!! Of course they will be graduating from preschool again next year too... Thank goodness I have one more year until they head off for Kindergarten!

So this is a picture of the boys on their first day of school back in August! They look excited huh? They really were... but I guess they just freeze when the camera comes out! They really are so awesome in front of the camera! lol!

Anyways they had a great school year at Bravo! Their preschool is so great... they focus a lot on incorporating music and art into everything... The boys learned all about music and notes and even played a cute little song at their graduation! I was so impressed and of course proud of our cute little guys!! I really have been amazed to see how much they have grown over the course of this school year. They have learned so much and it was so good for them to learn to take instruction from someone other than Josh or I.. Their teacher Mrs. Mathews was great. I think she was the perfect combination of kind and sweet with a little firmness mixed in, all the crazy boys in their class knew when she was serious!

They both know their abc's... can recognize all the letters and know all the sounds, can write their names, and of course know all their colors, shapes, and can count to 20. They had multiple units that they learned about in school, and I think their favorite unit was the one about their bodies. They love to talk about how their heart pumps blood through their body and about their bones!! It is just amazing to see how much the absorb! They truly are little sponges!!

Here are a couple pictures from the November Parent Day at School.... Look closely to see what their pictures say....

Ok... if you can't see it.... All the kids drew a picture of what they were thankful for (since it was right before thanksgiving) the first couple of kids said they were thankful for mom or dad... Mason got up and he said he was thankful for his Spiderman costume... Maddox followed and he was thankful for his Batman costume! It really was hilarious!!

The boys also were in tumbling throughout the school year right after class one day a week! They sure loved it... and it was a great way for them to get their energy out during the winter months!

Finally Graduation Day....

Getting into the bells.... Down low...
                                                      Up high.....
                                                       Maddox performing!
                                                     Mason playing his song!
Maddox getting his medal and diploma!
Mason getting his medal from Mrs. Mathews!
                                                 They boys and Mrs. Mathews

I Can't believe the  school year is over... one more year of preschool and our babies will be in "Big Kid School". I don't know what I will do with myself if we don't have another baby around yet... Yikes... it is really hitting me how soon it is that they will be off to school and a new phase of life... I just want to treasure this next year I have with them at home and enjoy every minute of it! It just really amazes me that our boys are so big already. I love every phase, but I just wish I could pause life right now at this age. I don't want them to get any bigger.. I just want them to stay little forever...

my boys...

Seriously these pictures of my boys just melt me.... I say this often, but I honestly had no idea of my capacity to love until these sweet little boys came into the world. For some reason pouring over all the pictures I took of them this weekend just makes me feel that love more. I love my boys and am so so grateful to be a mother.

Maddox

Maddox is such a Mommy's boy! He is very laid back as a general rule much like me! Yet he very strong willed . Once he gets his mind on something he isn't going to back down until he gets it!! (Like right now he is throwing a fit because he really wants me to set up his tent downstairs!) He is a goofy boy! He pulls awesome faces all the time. Especially right before he starts to cry! His faces are hilarious! He loves to get a laugh. There are a few things that he knows are a sure ticket to a laugh. One time at the dinner table when he had super dirty hands he leaned over and grabbed my shirt and I made a big deal and said "ewww... yucky!!" and leaned away and laughed. Now every time we eat dinner I have to play the game and end up with a really dirty shirt!! Maddox doesn't have any fear. He climbs out of his crib now and will come out in the hall and say, "hi momma" in his super sweet voice. He really can have the absolute sweetest voice ever! He knows exactly how to butter Josh and I up. Maddox is such a good cuddler when he wants to be. He loves to lay down and watch a movie and cuddle up to me or Josh. He is quite content to lounge around for the first hour after he wakes up. (Unlike Mr. Mason who is usually ready to go right after he wakes up!) Maddox is super sensitive to others already. The other day I was crying because I was just having a bad day and overwhelmed and Maddox kept his eye on me the entire time. Then we he got done eating he immediately got down and came to have me pick him up and he hugged me and said "you're ok momma."

Maddox is also a very smart boy. He is not quite as proud of himself as Mason is and doesn't like to show off his skills, so sometimes I am not sure if he knows as much as Mason.... but sure enough when I finally get him to perform (whether it is counting or ABC's or letter sounds) he pretty much knows all of his letters by sight and the sounds that go along with them. His counting is pretty funny... and usually whatever he is counting he ends up at number "sefen"! He is really into Dinosaurs and Curious George and being outside!!

We sure love our babies.... and can't believe how fast time has gone already. I just want them to stay this age forever! Even though they are complete stinkers most of the time.... I just want them to stay little forever!

Mason

I have been such a slacker on our family blog lately, which isn't good because it is supposed to be somewhat of a journal for us!! So I thought I would do a little catch up on what the boys are doing these days. I took these pictures of Mason when I was in WA last month visiting my family and taking lots of pictures. I had like 5 minutes to take pictures of my boys before my sister came with her kids, but I thought I would give it a try! I didn't have anyone there to help me with them, but I think I really captured our little Mase as he truly is.

Mason is our little stinker these days! He just has mischief in his eyes! He has 2 speeds.... standing still or sprinting! When he is into something he shouldn't be and I come to take it away he likes to throw it up in the air and run! He loves to torment Bruno (our shi tzu) and thinks it is hilarious when Bruno growls at him. He is completely obsessed with Dinosaurs! He can name soooo many dinosaurs. There is one we are still trying to figure out what he is actually saying, but it sounds like "crap-a-sauras! Mason is super smart and remembers everything we say! A great example of this was last month as we were getting into the Tri-Cities we drove over the blue bridge. I was telling the boys to look out the window at the Columbia River. That was pretty much the extent of the conversation. Two weeks later we were in Yellowstone with Josh's family. Our first day in the park we pointed out the pretty river to the boys. Mason immediately said, "There is the Columbia Riber." Amazing! He is also getting very good with his alphabet and can recognize all of his letters by sight and knows pretty much all of the letter sounds!
Mason doesn't really love to share right now. In WA my mom asked Mason if she could hold his dinosaur book while he was eating...he yellled, "IT'S BERY MINE!" Since then he has continued saying this. It was awesome at Macy's when we bought them new shirts and the lady needed to ring us up Mason yelled "IT'S BERY MINE!" His latest thing that he is doing that is super sweet, is no matter if he is hurt, it is time for bed, he is in trouble, he is mad.... you name it he is always saying "mommy rock you" and he really wants me to drop everything and carry him upstairs to the rocking chair and rock him. So as much of a stinker as he can be... he really is so sweet too!

Lastly... probably one of my favorite thing about Mason right now is that he really annunciates very well. His mouth is sooo cute when he talks because his lips are so exaggerated no matter what he is saying!! So these pictures are just a little example of Mase being Mase!!
