4 Qualities that Every Man should have!
What a girl really wants is a question over which lots of people have tried to find the answer, even myself believe it or not! Girls or females are complicated creatures, so people say- So it takes time to figure us out. Though every girl is different there are some basic things that are common to most of us girls. If you know what are the most important qualities that girls look for in a man it will be easier for you to be that one special man in your girl's life.
The girl likes her man to be independent, confident, intelligent and nice!
The most important quality in a man is his confidence. Your body language should convey your confidence to her. Even if the situation is tough your ability to see through it will be impressive to the girl.
The girl always wants her man to show signs of independence. That means economically and most importantly emotionally. Some of the guys are always dependent on the girls to make them feel good. You can be sure that the girls will never like this. But if you are independent but dependable it is a winning combination.
The man should common signs of intelligence. He should be able to have intelligent conversation with the girl. Do not think that blonds are always dumb. They may be having fun at your expense. So use you head before you open your mouth.
The man should show respect to the girls by listening to them and perhaps opening the doors or pulling up a chair for them. Being a good listener is a very important quality that a girl is looking for in her man.
If you are full of yourself and not aware what the girl is saying then your chances of having any kind of relationship with the girl is poor.
There's my secret to you "men"! Good luck and thanks for being the kind of person of which I speak of! You guys are amazing! I'm so glad to know you and call you my friends!

The New & Improved HEALTHY Julia Childs!
So, we've all heard of Julia Childs right? Well, at least if you know anything about the cooking/culinary business...
When she was first married, she had no clue how to cook- but she wanted to learn, so she took classes to learn. In her culinary classes, she was the only lady- most those back in her days, were men that were major professional chiefs, but she did not give up. She later became a Cook Show Host on T.V. and taught others how to cook. I'm her No. 1 fan! EXCEPT: most meals/entrees that she cooked weren't all that healthy. Meat (Pork, Duck, Turkey, Quail, etc.) Plus really yummy unhealthy items such as Cheese Casseroles, Jello, Cakes etc.
If you refer back to my title, "THE NEW AND IMPROVED HEALTHY JULIA CHILDS!" I will begin to attempt, just as Julia has- to Cook! If she can do it, so can I.... but I will learn how to cook delicious meals with healthy ingredients! Wish me luck!
Here is my first attempt:
BREAKFAST!
I will continue to keep you updated! For now, off to buy a shower curtain!
"Bon Appétit!"

“STATE IS EVERYTHING!”
June 14, 2010
By Jordana Galvez
“What others think of me, is none of my flippin’ business”
Do you ever have those days where you feel like nobody cares, that you don't exist and that everything you do just isn't right or good enough? Well, you are not alone!
As human beings, we want to be cared about, we want to be loved. We want somebody next to us to give us hugs when needed, to tell us how amazing we are and to remind us that we are beautiful children of God. Does this mean that we live off of what others tell us about ourselves? No. We are meant to be told that we are loved and that everything is going to be alright; that we are beautiful children of God. He intended it to be that way, so that we are learning how to care about, love and serve others.
We simply are, at times, self-conscience rather than being self-aware of what we are allowing ourselves to think about. Please allow me to explain:
You may ask, "What do you mean by SELF-AWARE?" Being self-aware is the ability to monitor oneself and others. "Monitor in what way" you ask? Monitoring your state. STATE IS EVERYTHING!!!
There are two types of our state:
1. Empowered
2. Disempowered
Words used do describe EMPOWERMENT are: positive, vibrant, happy, love, peace, inner power, control, found etc.
It's rather easy to guess what would describe being DISEMPOWERED: negative, trapped, paralyzed, lost, chaos, no direction, sad, frustration, anger etc.
Our society attempts daily to monitor our state by what we watch, see, hear and read. It doesn't have to. We have the option to be empowered rather than disempowered. We have the option to tell others that they are loved and cared about, that God does love them, rather than feel disempowered and wonder those questions.
Once again, STATE IS EVERYTHING! What state are you in? Are you EMPOWERED, or DISEMPOWERED?
Yes, it sounds and feels great to be Empowered, right? Now your asking "Well, what can I do to BE Empowered, you make it sounds so wonderful and yet so easy. Yet if it was easy, then why do I feel Disempowered?" You are right, I do make it sound simply easy, and the truth is, IT IS EASY!!!
To start out, have you ever heard of "Self-Talk" before? We do it all the time! 85% of self-talk is self-conscience. We see through our brain... our eyes give our brain the pictures and our brain decides what experiences are important and what not. Self-talk is when you receive a phone call from our friends inviting you to go boating with them this weekend and you hesitantly say that you'll think about it because immediately after the invitation, your self-talk began speaking to you saying, "but your fat", "what will they think of you because you don't look good in a swimsuit?", "your no good at boating", "what if you fall off and they'll all make fun of you?" This is what I called DISEMPOWERED SELF-TALK. You have created your own disempowered state, and your friend that called to invite you has no clue why you called back and said you wouldn't be able to go.
We are able to change what we think and say to ourselves. I recently ran a 5k race, and during this time I was focusing on listening to my self-talk and what I was telling myself in the back of my mind. At the beginning of the race, the words that popped into my mind were “You’re actually here, your going to do it, this is awesome!”… Not even minutes later, I started hearing myself say “you won’t be able to do it, your too out of shape, can can’t make it- your not good enough”. I was amazed how quickly my self-talked changed. I went from being empowered, directly to being disempowered. BUT, by being SELF-AWARE of my self-talk, I was able to quickly decide that I was going to be 100% empowered. I began telling myself “You are awesome!” “You can do it!” “This is a piece of cake for you” “Keep going, I know you can”. By simply recognizing my state and being able to change what I thought of myself, I smiled the rest of the race, gave high fives to those I passed and left them with words of encouragement for them and for me. I ran through the finish line and didn’t want to stop running because I felt as if I was at the top of the world. I WAS EMPOWERED!
So the next time you start feeling like nobody cares, that you don't exist and that everything you do just isn't right or good enough… ask yourself: “WHAT STATE AM I IN? AM I EMPOWERED?” Right then and there, do what you need to do to become self-aware because life is worth living to it’s fullest, not just to be endured.

A Little Gospel Thought of the Week:
The Prophet Joseph Smith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints defined the first principle of the gospel as “faith in the Lord Jesus Christ”. (Articles Of Faith 1) It is that defining phrase “in the Lord Jesus Christ” that we sometimes forget. Too often we offer our prayer and then wait to see whether our request will be granted, as though approval would provide needed evidence of His existence. That is not faith! Faith is, quite simply, a confidence in the Lord. In the Prophet Mormon’s words, it is “a firm mind in every form of godliness” (Moroni 7:30) In class this semester we read about the three Hebrew magistrates and how they expressed trust that the Lord would deliver them from the fiery furnace, “but if not,” they said to the king, “we will not serve thy gods” (Daniel 3:18). Not three but four men were seen in the midst of the flames, and “the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Daniel 3:25).
It is common in this day and age to say that seeing is believing. The way of the Lord is best defined by a different maxim: Believing is seeing. Faith in the Lord is the premise, not the conclusion. I know He lives; therefore, I trust Him to bless me according to His divine will and wisdom.
In the book of Daniel chapter three, it is the story of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon who created a golden image and told his people that they must worship this idol and if they do not, then they will be cast into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were set over the affairs of Babylon, but because they were Jews, they worshiped a different God and would not worship the kings Idol. They (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego) had faith in the Lord and knew that he would bless them according to their faith. They knew that they could trust God—even if things didn’t turn out the way they hoped. They knew that faith is more than a mental assent, more than an acknowledgment that God lives. Faith is total trust in Him. Faith is believing that although we do not understand all things, He (God) does. Faith is knowing that although our power is limited, His is not. Faith in Jesus Christ consists of complete reliance on Him. After reading the Old Testament completely through, sad to say, for the first time; I started to realized how much the Lord has played a part in my individual life. Daily I go throughout my mundane day and forget to notice what the Lord has done for me. He is always with me; He helps me, leads me, guides me and prompts me to do what is right.
God blesses us in many ways. I had a Church calling that required me to attend a meeting this morning at 6:30am. After the meeting, I was in a hurry to return home to complete my final written exams. Being the good citizen that I am, seeing hardly any cars about so early in the morning, I was driving almost ten over the speed limit. The light turned yellow, frustrated that I had to stop, I slowed down and then began to wait at the red light. I soon noticed a police vehicle to the right of me. If I had not had a red light or I had sped up during the yellow light, I am sure that I would have been pulled over and received a ticket for speeding. The Lord blessed me and let me off the hook this time. I drove the speed limit the rest of the way home!
By reading the Old Testament I’ve been more open to myself and keeping tabs to make sure that I don’t fall into a pattern of being blessed by God and then take it for granted to a point that the Lord needs to be strict and help me to humble myself once more over and over again. Where much is given, much is required. I’ve learned that I need to do my part to be worthy of receiving the blessings of God.
“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” (John 16:27-28)
