Back in October or November I bought Jonathan a couple tickets to the Jazz game on February 28th. We originally had planned to get a babysitter, but after our babysitter went out of town we decided to go ahead and take Benjamin and Daniel with us. We're glad we did because Benjamin had a great time! He liked watching the game, but I think he enjoyed the Jazz dancers much better! He kept dancing along with them (in his usual reserved, quiet way).
Benjamin enjoyed the game so much we decided to take him to the BYU Men's basketball game last night. It was the last home game for the season against Air Force. Again, Benjamin loved it and didn't want to go home when I asked him if he wanted to right after half time. He looked so tired, but leaving wasn't an option! (we live right down the street from the Marriott Center so walking home with him and leaving Jonathan to finish the game alone wouldn't have been a problem). I took Daniel home instead and put him to bed and Benjamin got to spend some time with Dad watching the end of the game together.
I really mean it when I say it's going to be a quick update... promise!
Daniel has 2 teeth now and has been really fussy. And he's become attached to his mama. Nobody else will do when it's time to go down for a nap or when he's upset about something. Poor Jonathan has a tough time when I have things going on at night and he's home with a fussy baby who won't calm down. I've been "working" with him at night trying to get him to sleep for longer stretches. He will go 6-7 hours without eating, but he wakes up multiple times during that 6-7 hours and I have to cuddle him to get him to go back to sleep. I've been trying to let him "cry it out" but it's so hard and I know it keeps Jonathan up too and he gets up early with Benjamin. I think we're making progress though. He had a 4 hour long stretch of sleep with no waking last night. Yay!
Benjamin has been willingly trying new foods lately, which is a huge step forward in trying to get him to eat healthy foods. Most of the time he spits the new food out as soon as it touches his mouth, but at least there's EFFORT. He still loves to read books and finds some interesting places to sit and read for awhile. And the coolest thing ever happened yesterday- we were running errands and at one place we had to wait a little bit so I started counting the chairs in the waiting area to keep Benjamin occupied and Benjamin started counting along with me! He can count all the way to 10 by himself. We don't really know where he learned it, but I think it's from a book we got last week at the library (One,Two, Buckle My Shoe). Yay for my smart boy!
This cracks me up- Benjamin wanted to eat with the serving spoon. Whatever gets the food in the belly!
