Well... hopefully we'll keep this going

So, thanks to Rebecca and Bart, I've decided to go ahead and try this blog thing... They've inspired me to try it because they have some really cute pictures of Addison on their blog. I thought it would be a great way to keep in touch with everyone and share our latest adventures and cute pictures of Benjamin. So here goes...

The beginning of the week was fairly quiet. Jonathan and I both worked all day and Benjamin spent time with me at home playing. For those who don't know, I've been working full time from home for about the last 4 or 5 weeks. It's a little tough to focus on work with a baby playing on the floor next to you, but I've managed to get it done and still spend some time with Benjamin. He seems to be doing well with the arrangement too.

Benjamin is growing a ton! He has the cutest chubbiest cheeks ever. Anyone who sees him comments on them and nobody seems to be able to resist pinching them. It's really funny to sit in the back seat of the car next to his car seat and watch his little cheeks jiggle when the car is moving. He weighs a little more than 13 lbs 8 ounces and is gaining more weight every day.

We think he is going through a growth spurt because he's been eating every 2 hours (instead of every 3) throughout the day and is sleeping a ton at night (10+ hours the last 2 nights in a row). I'm definitely enjoying the extra sleep at night as you can imagine. He's a happy boy, and we love him so much!

On Friday Benjamin and I went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point Gardens with Jonathan's parents and sister Dianne. The flowers were gorgeous and it was a nice sunny day. Benjamin did really well. I carried him in our front carry pack for a little while until he fell asleep and then pushed him around in his stroller. He got to try his first couple ounces of formula on the way home. He did ok with it. At first he was so hungry he didn't really notice what he was eating. But once he slowed down a little he seemed to notice it was something new, but he finished it all. Jonathan was the lucky one who got to change that first formula poopy diaper a few days later... he he he. He said it was something fierce and fortunately when his his gag reflex was going off uncontrollably nothing came up.

We do have a little bit of bad news... Friday evening I discovered we had lost all of Benjamin's pictures that we had saved on our computer. We're talking hundreds of pictures since the day he was born. The only ones we have are the ones taken in the last 2-3 weeks and the ones that I printed. Soo... I'm asking anyone who has any pictures of Benjamin to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send them to me. I'll take them any way you can get them to me... email, printed photos, burned to a cd. Whatever is easiest for you. I would appreciate it soooo much. I feel horrible that we lost the first 3 months of pictures.

Saturday was a pretty exciting day for our family. Benjamin went swimming for the first time. He was a little apathetic about it at first. The water was as warm as his baths are and he seemed more interested in watching the sun play off the water. But after a little while he seemed more relaxed and even smiled a little! We're excited to take him swimming again- I think he'll be more excited and have more fun the next time when it's not so new.

Saturday night we left Benjamin with his Uncle Evan, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Carrie while we went to the Utah Jazz game. It was game 4 of the playoffs against the Houston Rockets. I was able to surprise Jonathan with tickets earlier in the week. I found them online for $10... an unbelievable price for playoff tickets. One reason they were so inexpensive is because they were in the waaayyy back... literally we could not have been any further back unless we wanted to stand behind the last row of seats. But it was a really fun game. The Jazz won 98 to 85! I woke up the next morning with a sore throat from screaming so much. Jonathan says he had a great time. The last time he went to a Jazz game was a long time ago when he was just a kid. He liked that I went to the game and cheered for the Jazz. Jonathan hopes this is the beginning of a life-long love for the Utah Jazz... We'll see.

This upcoming week should be fun... on Wednesday I'll be picking up Benjamin's 3 month pictures we took 2 weeks ago. They turned out really cute and we're excited to show everyone. Then on Saturday Benjamin and I are heading to California to visit Grammy and Pepere. This will be Benjamin's first time on a plane... cross your fingers that it will go well! I'll post again next week (hopefully...)
