I didn't realize how far behind I was in blogging until I checked yesterday. I have definitely turned into a Facebook/Instagram poster because it is easier. So here is an attempt to catch up.
If you are ever curious as to what you sound like and/or say on a regular basis, just hang out with a 2-year-old for a while. Not only does she repeat anything and everything, she says it with the same tone as I do. Some of my favorite sayings of Hadley's right now are, "Oh dear, silly goose, 2 minutes, oh gosh, and heard that." She literally talks and talks all day long. It is mostly good.
Hadley was very excited for it to be my birthday. She got to decorate my cake, and it ended up being lots and lots of sprinkles. That is how everything she decorates turns out. (I can't find my camera so these pictures are all from my phone). Jonas's birthday is this week so we went and got him a present last week from Hadley. He hounded her until she told him what it was, so I took it back and got myself a running shirt.
We have been going ABSOLUTELY CRAZY this winter. Way too many cold days and not enough to do. She asked to play with this water table every time she saw it in the garage. I finally thought why not? It's just water. She was very, very excited as you can see.
I love waiting to see what Hadley is going to say when she wakes up in the morning or after naps. It ranges from "Mommy! I'm awake!" to "Play outside. Peanut butter!" to "I like to move it move it!" You never know what you will get.
We decided when Hadley was born that Jonas would take her out every Valentine's Day since we never really do anything. I took her to get her nails done during the day. She did really good, and I think it was because she was a little scared of the lady who would gasp every time she moved a muscle.
Jonas took Hadley to dinner, ice skating, and then to get froyo. They both had a blast and talked about it for days. She still asks to go ice skating with daddy so that is on the calendar this week.
Hadley has figured out how to get laughs and loves having everyone's attention. When she gets to spend quality time with her daddy they are inseparable, and she wants nothing to do with me. I don't complain. She is just like her daddy in a number of ways, one being that they could both sit and watch movies all day. I feel like a bad mom when she sits and watches a movie, but with the weather this winter it was much needed on some days! Her favorites right now are all 3 Madagascar movies (or move it move it), Despicable Me, Happy Feet, and Lorax.
We took Hadley to Jungle Jim's with Jonas's parents, and she didn't really love it. She was scared of everything that day (per being a 2-year-old) and was mainly excited for the prizes she got at the end. Jonas and I, on the other hand, may have had too much fun.
Hadley is still very much in the dramatic stage. If she is tired, game over. She likes going and doing things, but it usually isn't too long until she just wants to go home. She is an amazing kid, and we always get compliments everywhere we go on how cute and smart she is. (Just don't tell her she is cute. She is pretty).
FINALLY last week the weather warmed up a bit. I love that it was 40s out and we were soaking it up like it was 80. It was a much needed break for both of us and we took lunch up to the park a few different days. She has loved riding her bike, playing with chalk, and running from bugs, her latest and greatest fear. Unfortunately we live in Utah and the weather didn't last.
Love our goobers!
