Let's try this again...

I was getting ready for work last week and was drying my hair. A few minutes went by without me seeing Hudson and when I checked on him, he was standing on a stack of pillows he had made so he could reach my iPad off my night stand. He said "I need my computer mama." And then proceeded to take the iPad down to the ground and play with his apps. Lord, nothing is safe now.

I babysat Ainsley and Emery Friday night with Hudson. The girls were already in the tub and Hudson told me he "needed to take a bath with his friends." I don't think he quite gets the fact that he's related to the girls yet. So for now, friends is what they are and it's super cute to hear a little 2 year old talk about "his friends."

Friday morning I had a jam session with Hudson and Kaiser. Hudson went all the way upstairs and brought a drum down for kaiser so he could play with us! "Mama, Kaiser need a drum too. I go get it." And In case you were wondering, I was playing the xylophone...aka: "zyla-tone."

Hudson saying his ABC’s
Hudson has been super interested in the alphabet over the past few months. It started out with him knowing just a few letters such as K, O, and J, and he has now come to know all of the letters of the alphabet! The family that watches him during the day have been working with him, we read books and talk about letters and the alphabet all the time and we also have a neat magnet toy that says the letter names and makes their corresponding sounds. Oh yeah, and we sing the ABC’s quite a bit too!
This video is of Jon pointing to each letter of the alphabet and Hudson either says the letter or makes the sound. He still has a few sounds off. For example, his “B’s” are pronounced like “D’s” and his “P’s” are pronounced like “T’s”. Regardless, for a 19 month old he is doing pretty darn good! And naturally, we think he is amazing!

Soooo behind, but I’ve gotta start somewhere…
The past few months have been extremely busy at our household and my blogging has taken a complete back burner. I’m feeling up for the challenge to tackle getting caught up to speed, so I’ll start with the big subject that has kept us pre-occupied here lately. (And I’m not pregnant if that’s what you were thinking!)
We have decided to sell our house and we are building a new one!! Our house has been on the market for a little less than a month now and our new house started construction this week!! It’s all very exciting, but quite busy if you can imagine….and especially with an 18 month old!
Back in February, we really started looking around at available neighborhoods that were a little closer to Austin. One thing let to another, and we found a great neighborhood in Cedar Park that we wanted to move to. So, we had our realtor come over to give us her opinion about our house and we decided to get it on the market sometime in March. We spent a few weeks working super hard going through closets, cabinets, rooms, etc. We organized the house and got rid of or donated a lot of things that we didn’t need anymore. We got a storage unit and started taking pieces of furniture that we don’t use or were cluttering up the house. We took down all personal pictures in frames and on the fridge, etc. We worked on the yard and landscaping. We caulked, puttied, and touched up paint. And we did almost all of this work in the evenings after Hudson went to bed at 8pm. Needless to say, we were pooped. We ended up deciding the sooner the better to get our house listed and we got it on the market on March 10th. While all of that was going on, we also had found a home-site, a great floor-plan and decided to move forward on building a new home! Very exciting business!!
Our new house will be completed sometime in July and we’ve had a good amount of lookers for our current home. We are feeling very positive and confident that we’ll get an offer very soon as we’ve had good feedback from the realtors of a few prospects in the past couple of days. Keep you fingers crossed for us!!
We have already picked out all of the colors and options for a new house, and it actually broke ground this week!
So if I have a moment where I’m hard on myself for not keeping up with the blog, I quickly give myself a break, because we have been a busy little family!
Here are some pictures of our house after our hard work to get it ready to list.
And here are a few pictures at our new lot
Hudson playing in his soon to be backyard!
Our forms were set this week! This first picture is facing the house and the rest are taken from the backyard.
In these pictures, I was standing in the backyard facing the back of the house. The big tree/cluster of trees will be in our back yard!
Any thoughts or prayers you want to send our way for getting our house sold soon are much appreciated!
~Sarah
