November Update

Surprisingly, I do not have many random phone pics from November that I didn't get in posts.  I do have a few facts about the girls that I have written down and want to remember.  I'll see if I can remember them all... Clara is still our silly little girl.  She likes to take her socks and shoes off immediately when we get in the house from being out somewhere.  In the picture above I had told her she needed to find her socks and shoes and get them on because we had to run some errands.  I came back to find this.  At least she listened! There are days when Clara wakes up with crazy bedhead.  This was the worst we have seen so far! :)  One of the first things Clara does in the morning when she wakes up is asks to get her clothes on.  I guess she doesn't like to stay in her pajamas long.  Definitely a Jon trait...and NOT an Erin one. Some funny phrases Clara has said recently, "mom, don't worry...I can handle this." If we as...

Thanksgiving

Olivia was excited to celebrate Thanksgiving with her Kindergarten class this year.  They made pilgrim hats and bonnets and had a Thanksgiving feast!   We also prepared for Thanksgiving with a few different crafts.  Here is a turkey Olivia made.   And here is Clara's turkey. :)   On Thanksgiving day Grandpa and Grandma Eekhoff came to church with us and then we traveled to Hull for the feast! Doing some pre-meal coloring. The girls were very excited to have Leah and Travis around for the weekend. Working on the annual puzzle. Jon was on call, but was able to get a few hours off in the afternoon so he could join in on the festivities! Aunt Rose and Clara Mae. I don't even have a picture of the actual food!  I must have been too busy eating... Olivia and Ross working on the crazy turkey tablecloth. Clara and Olivia enjoying some playtime with Bon and Rose. Since Jon was on call through the night, the gir...

Getting our Christmas Tree

We actually cut down and decorated our tree the day before Thanksgiving this year because Thanksgiving was Jon's holiday to take call.  We went to Riverview Christmas Tree Farm again this year and found the perfect tree!  It was a chilly day so we made things quick.  Jon spotted a few trees suitable for his standards and the girls helped him pick the ultimate winner.  I made sure the tag read an appropriate height for our house, as Jon and the girls tend to go for the 'big dogs!'   Next, we 'helped' Jon cut the tree down and haul it to the tree shaker.     The girls always like to stop at the snowmen for a picture. Then we headed home to set up the tree and start decorating! Funny side note:  At one point on the way home we were singing a rendition of O Tannenbaum (O Christmas Tree) and we heard Clara singing out proudly "O Cannonball, O Cannonball.."   Clara placed most of her ornaments near the bottom ...

First Snow

We have been keeping busy with Advent activities, but before I post those pictures I need to back up to November. On November 15 we had our first snowfall of the winter season.  The girls couldn't wait to get out and play in it!  They tried out their sleds, made snow angels, 'helped' mom shovel the driveway, and explored all throughout the yard.  I am sure there will be many more fun snow days ahead!

Baby Update

This is a long overdue baby update! Baby E. #3 is growing like a weed.  I am finally almost at 30 weeks.  I feel like time has slowed down and 10 more weeks seems like a REALLY long time.  Here are the ultrasound pictures I forgot to post earlier.  These were done at 20 weeks, so little boy has grown quite a bit since then.  Everything looked healthy and normal on the ultrasound, which we are always thankful for.  It is amazing to see all the tiny little organs, vessels, and bones developing. Here is a pregnancy picture when I was about 28 weeks along.  I am feeling big, but measuring right on track.  Everything continue to go well with the pregnancy and baby looks healthy.  I passed my glucose test to make sure I didn't have gestational diabetes and I am gaining the necessary weight I need to!  My blood pressure is also staying low..something I worry a little about since it did get high with Olivia.  ...

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken a couple weeks ago by Tasha, a family friend and part of the Engbers extended family!  Tasha took our pictures last fall as well.  Then, last winter she was in a serious car accident.  We prayed many months for her recovery and are very thankful she is now able to be back taking pictures and sharing her talent with others!
