Lake Day #5 - Wednesday

Wednesday morning was cloudy and rainy, so we spent time finding things to do in the cabin.  Around 11:00 the rain stopped, so the girls and I found a park to play at and treated ourselves to ice cream while Jon went to the Batman movie with Nick.  The afternoon was beautiful and sunny, so we got back in the water to play, tube, ski, and fish.    Clara Mae ready for bed.  She loves to have her paci and BOTH of her special blankets.

Lake Day #4

We made it back home from the lake last night.  Now that I have a faster internet connection I will try to catch up on some pictures and stories from the rest of our time.   I thought Olivia would enjoy the experience of fishing in the boat with Jon and me.  I had to use a little bribery (aka sucker) to convince her it was a good idea! :) Waiting patiently for a fishy to bite.  This lasted for about 10 seconds, then she started wandering around the boat with her pole laying on the side.  Ha!  Olivia wanted to hold her fish, but changed her mind once she saw the "prickers."  She decided touching his tail was good enough. Olivia telling mom that mom's fish is the littlest.   However, I thought my fish was the cutest. When we got back from fishing, we decided to get in the water and cool off.  Grandma Linda brought out some water guns, and Olivia was an eager participant. Uncle Connor and Livi having a wa...

A day at the lake ~ Monday

Another beautiful day equals another day full of activities.  Here are a few sights from our day. Byrant, Connor, Jon, and Kevin coming in from fishing in the morning. After breakfast we decided to try a paddle boat ride with the girls.  It didn't go as well as anticipated.  Clara just wanted to get out and Livi wasn't thrilled about having to sit in the middle.  Maybe next year. Clara trying out her shades! Bryant and Christine taking a ride on the jet ski. Uncle Nick kept Livi entertained for awhile.  She had fun being silly with him. Grandma Linda surprises the girls with special toys to entertain them at the lake.  Livi trying out her remote control car.  Great grandma Lila and Livi baked cupcakes for a little party for Clara and Livi so we could celebrate the girls' birthdays with Grandpa and Grandma Peters. Another classic Clara picture.  Eyeing those cupcakes intently! A common sight at the lake....

Day #2

We had another exciting day at the lake Sunday.  It was hot, so we spent much of the day in the water or shade.  It is supposed to be a little cooler the next couple of days, for which we are thankful.  Attempting a family picture.  Kevin rented a jet ski for a couple days.  We had fun trying it out today during Clara's nap.  Olivia loved feeling the wind in her face.  She scolded dad when he went in zig-zags though!  I have taught her well. :)  Olivia having some grandma time.  Clara keeping mom entertained.  Olivia loves crafts, and since we have many helpers this week I thought we could bring along some art supplies for everyone to do.  Today she made a sand castle and had fun coloring with Jenni, Nadia, uncle Bryant, and Christine.   Clara sat back and watched the action with a little cookie treat.  By the end of the day we were all a little uncomfortable from the heat.  Olivia...

Lake Day #1

We made it to the lake today (Saturday).  Our drive up here was a breeze compared to last year when 6 week old Clara proved to us she was not a fan of the car.  Olivia was so excited to come, she had just a little trouble falling asleep Friday night.  She came out 4 or 5 times from her room asking us if it was morning yet!  Once we arrived and unpacked, we went straight to the beach and lake. Clara has been showing off her sweet, spunky personality in hopes of redeeming herself from last year. (cry, eat, bounce to sleep...repeat)  She loves playing in the water and sand and being as independent as she can. Olivia exploring all the different floaty toys. Clara likes to float around and kick her feet.  In her hand is a snail shell.  She had fun finding shells and keeping them as treasures. I bought Olivia a 'puddle jumper' (green floaty she has on) in hopes that it would give her some more confidence in swimming by herself i...
