Liv

I thought it was Olivia's turn for a little update.  Where do I even start with this girl's personality.  She is definitely a first born!  Opinionated, strong-willed, independent, smart, funny, imaginitive...just to name a few. Her favorite color is orange. She loves to sing and hum.  She often hums while doing a (concentration) task, like coloring or helping me clean something. Which reminds me of another funny thing Livi does.  She narrates herself quite often.  For example, Olivia will be playing in her room and I might hear her say something like, "Go to sleep baby.....Livi quietly said as she tucked her baby into bed."  One of our favorite ones to date was when Jon asked Olivia to start getting ready for bed and she said, "yes dad.....she says with a kind sweet heart." Olivia declares she will be a baker (chef) and doctor when she grows up.  We will see how that pans out.  She ...

Father's Day

Jon was on-call on Father's Day, but he was still able to celebrate most of the day with his girls.  I did a little question and answer session with Livi about her dad. Here are the results: How old is daddy?  4 years old What color are his eyes?  green How tall is he?  Up to the ceiling tall! How much does he weigh?  24 pounds When did you and daddy first meet?  When we were both born What does daddy like to wear?  His elephant shirt (Banana Republic shirts have little elephants on them....I think this is what she is referring to!?) Daddy's favorite thing to drink is?  Coffee What does he like to eat?  Sandwiches  (this made me laugh because I wouldn't consider Jon a sandwhich person) What does daddy like to do for fun?  Play ball and house with me What does daddy do at work?  Gets people better If daddy could go on a trip, where would he go?  To a motel in Kansas City...actually Olivia, I...

Clara Mae

Here are the long-overdue fun-facts of little Clara Mae as a one-year-old.  She is 32 inches tall.  What does this mean? She is TALL.  Off the charts tall on the growth chart.  I am guessing she will pass up her mother in due time! However, at 25 pounds, she has now made it onto the chart for weight.  Topping off in the 95th percentile! :) She wears 24 months and even 2T clothes and size 5 shoes.  Oh yeah, she has big feet too!  Clara is just starting to stand by herself.  We are cheering her on to take those first few steps, but she is happy with her standing accomplishment for now. Clara is always looking for trouble.  She has recently figured out how to crawl up in Livi's bed and I often find her sitting on the pillow.  She also has her little 'play' phone in this picture.  Recently, Clara also got a hold of my real phone and dropped it in the tub.  Which actually didn't turn ...

12 months

Clara has her one year appointment tomorrow, so I will post her 'stats' and fun facts then, but for now here are a few pictures of our big-eyed, sweet, silly, and smiley girl!

Clara's birthday party

I knew for awhile that I wanted Clara's birthday party 'theme' to be from the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.  I found many fun ideas on Pinterest and made Clara a cute caterpillar onesie and tutu. Our sweet little one year old. My mom had gotten a cake exactly like this about a month ago for a school auction, and we thought it was so cute that we ordered the same thing for Clara's party.  Clara also got her own little 'smash cake.' Clara was blessed with many fun gifts.  (Olivia is also enjoying all the new and exciting toys in the house.)  I love this picture of Clara reading one of her birthday cards upside down, because it reminds me of this picture below from Olivia's first birthday! Olivia made sure we had all of the food that the very hungry caterpillar ate through in the story.  Except the leaves, of course! :) "Who are all these people in those funny hats?"  I think Oli...

Happy 1st Birthday Clara!
