discovery

Jon and I discovered something very important tonight.  Mealtime can once again be enjoyed by BOTH parents at the SAME time without the need to inhale ones food, while feeding baby, also while trying to make three-year-old sit still. And here is how: By having the older sibling feed the younger sibling of course! Actually, Olivia has been asking to have an attempt at feeding Clara for some time now and I finally gave in in a moment of weakness and hunger for my own supper. I have to say, Olivia did a mighty fine job.  Slightly messier, but a fine job none-the-less. And Clara was tickled pink by the idea! "open up Clara....good girl" I see many more enjoyable dinners in our future :)

February

February seemed to fly by.  We really have spent most of our time just staying at home due to Jon's crazy schedule this month.  Both Olivia and Clara caught some not-so-fun colds the past couple weeks that also kept us house-bound.  Clara just wants to go go go!  She still army crawls, but as you can see in the picture below, she likes to get on her hands and knees and attempt to crawl this way.  She is also starting to become interested in books, especially touch-and-feel ones. A typical pose for Clara.  She lays on her side with one leg in the air, the other one stretched out and just balances herself this way.  She will do this for quite some time! Clara is also learning to pull herself up.  We have a little step down into our living room that she can now climb up and down.  The other day I also found her up on her knees trying to look over the railing of her crib.  She, of course, thought it was hilarious!  Lit...

8 months

Clara Mae is such a joy in our life.  She is such a happy little girl and always smiling. We are beginning to see her personality shine through.  She is adventurous and curious.  She scoots after anything she can get her hands on, especially magazines, cords, books, or anything else that might be a little bit naughty!  She is content most of the time, unless she is hungry or tired.  I think she will be more laid-back than her sister, but not too laid-back!  Every once in awhile we see a little bit of her sister's feisty-ness :)  A few other facts: I actually don't know her exact weight, but the girl is still topping the charts I am sure.  She wears anywhere from 12 to 24 month clothing. Clara loves to eat.  She does very well with finger foods already and has become a master at getting cheerios from her tray to her mouth in 1 second flat.  I would say her favorite food is maybe bananas. Loves, loves, loves her sis...

For aunt Rose

Birthday message: take 1 let's try that again....take 2 not quite what we are going for...take 3  things are getting out of control...take 4  almost...take 5  got it. A picture of Olivia for aunt Rose! {Slightly resembling Edward Scissorhands, but you are a kindergarten teacher, you get the idea...fingers and toes :)}
One of my goals this year is to get myself and Jon in a few more pictures.  I think we both enjoy looking back at pictures from our own families and I am sure our girls will someday want to do the same.  (They are not, however, allowed to make fun of anything I dressed them in or anything Jon and I wore! )
