Olivia Update

Olivia is nearing a half a year old already! As a result, I felt a need to share some random little facts about our growing girl. *Olivia has been trying different foods and her favorite by far is bananas! *Olivia is rolling over and getting better everyday at trying to sit on her own. *Olivia FINALLY is taking naps during the day! (However, she is now getting up at least once during the night again...I'm not sure which is better?) *Olivia is VERY curious. She grabs anything that is put in front of her, and it immediately goes to the mouth! *Olivia does not have any teeth yet, but she is growing little sprouts of hair on the top of her bald head!! Yeah! *Olivia goes to sleep by sucking her paci and rubbing the silk on her blankie. Oh...she has also decided it is best to sleep with her blankie OVER her head. Nap-time goes somewhat like this: I go to check on Olivia. Her blankie is over her head. I pull it off. 5 minutes later I go back to check. Olivia has pulled the blankie over he...

Weekend in Review

This week is already flying by and I am behind with our latest updates! This weekend Kevin, Linda, Bryant and Connor came to visit all of us (..ok...ok...we know the visits are now 75% for Olivia, 25% for me and Jon). After the initial shock and outburst of having "new" people in her house, Olivia soon warmed up to everyone. By the end of the visit she was showing off her big smiles and her new rolling skills! Swimming with dad, uncle Bryant and uncle Connor Olivia got lots of attention from grandpa and grandma, and she loved every minute of it!

Medical School Update

My third year of medical school is already nearing its close, so I thought it was time for an update on what I have been doing lately. I just finished my internal medicine rotation, which is basically taking care of hospitalized patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. I learned a lot during my six weeks on internal medicine and really enjoyed the fact that the faculty set aside time just to teach students - not always true on other rotations. Tomorrow, I start a two week rotation in radiology. I am looking forward to it, because I am becoming more and more confident that I will be doing a radiology residency when I am finished with medical school. After radiology, I have four weeks of psychiatry followed by a couple more two week rotations and then six weeks of pediatrics. I have already been asked to fill out my schedule for fourth year, but have yet to make much progress in figuring out which rotations I want to do next year. At this time next year, I will be anxiously aw...

Liv's New Trick

Olivia's newest fascination is her feet. She grabs her little feet any chance she can get. I have actually caught her sucking on her toes more than once!?!?
Tonight I went to HuHot with some of the moms from my MOPS table for a "mom's night out". We had a great meal and talked (mostly about our kids :) ). It was a fun night and actually came at a good time because Olivia was having what I would call a "crabby day" and I was ready for a break!

Livi and Lucy

Me and Olivia went and played with Lucy for awhile today. Lucy is always fascinated by Olivia and says "baby" whenever she sees her. I thought it would be fun to get a few pictures of them together, but Livi and Lucy were not as "into" the idea as me! They both look like they might be telling me "we really don't want to do this." I think Livi and Lucy will be good friends...they seem to be two of a kind.
We decided to take advantage of the warmer weather this weekend and get Livi outside for some fresh air. She wasn't too thrilled about being bundled up in her snowsuit and hat, but once she was outside I think she liked it!
