Just us saying "Hello" Jon is busy studying the brain tonight, thinking he might be able to actually examine his brain parts when his brain explodes from information overload...and I am busy scrapbooking and watching episode after episode of Gilmore Girls from my 5th season of the DVD collection...I don't have it too rough do I?!?! :) We have had yucky weather again today with what I describe as little icy snow balls falling from the sky (some sort of mix between sleet, snow, and hail - no kidding). Anyways...to our grandparents located in sunny Florida and Arizona right now oh how we long to be in your warm presence. We have also quickly learned in the past weeks the difficulty of listening to tournament bball games over the radio/internet and waiting for the cell phone to ring wondering if the other end holds a win or a loss. Go Wolfpack!!! P.S. Onalee, Rose, and Brianna - have a fun night anticipating your "snow day" tomorrow!!! Bryant and Connor - ...

Snowed In

Today we woke up to trees, sidewalks, cars, and EVERYTHING covered in ice. It rained/sleeted/snowed most of the day today and continues yet as I type this. Nick stayed at our house last night after going to hear a band with Jon in Iowa City last night. He was planning to head back to Decorah today, but because of the weather he is spending another night with us. The ice/rain, however, did not keep us inside. For lunch we headed to Panera Bread in the mall, then we were off to Best Buy, the grocery store, and in search of a movie. We ended up getting Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone - yes, yes I have developed some sort of an obsession. For a short while this afternoon we thought we were not even going to be able to watch our movie because the electricity went out! The snow is suppose to continue through tomorrow, in fact our church services and most everything around here for tomorrow has already been cancelled. Like I said before, summer cannot come soon enough for me. But in the ...

Engbers Update

It is about Friday!! and you might be asking yourselves...what has been happening in the lives of Jon and Erin?? Well first of all we have welcomed with open arms the WARM weather and SUNNY days we have had this week. I have even been able to once again see the green grass I was longing for. However, just when my hopes are high. . .SNOW rears its ugly face in the forecast for this weekend. I worked on monday night, last night, and will go to work again tonight. For some reason I could not sleep today, so hopefully I will be able to keep my eyes open tonight! I have also finished my third Harry Potter book and received my fourth book in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to get started on it. Jon has a big test tomorrow over the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. He has been studying hard all week for this and has been consuming much coffee as he does so. The Bible study group Jon and I are a part of helped make and serve a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. This is ...

It's never too cold for. . .

ICE CREAM!!! Can you guess who had what???

Happy Valentine's Day!

For Valentine's Day Jon got me my favorite things: Skittles, Charleston Chews and a Gilmore Girls DVD!!! Iguess I am more of a CANDY than flowers girl :) I got Jon a picture he has wanted for his "study room."

Today's Forecast:

Snow, Snow , and more Snow . When I brought Jon to school this morning the snow was already piling up and I believe it is suppose to continue for most of the day. In my longing for summer I had kept the hope alive that March was just around the corner and the snow would soon be melting revealing the nice green grass once again. . . . . . . I have a feeling my wait just got a little longer!
Hello to everyone again! I noticed I have not updated for awhile. Jon and I had the opportunity to have a little break from work and school and go back home for a few days. We really enjoyed being able to see our families again and even catching some basketball games - both of Western's and some of Bryant's games in Sioux Falls. We unfortunately missed being able to see any of Connor's games (maybe we can see you play football in the fall Connor!?!?!? Sorry Linda, No more encouraging from me). On Sunday we were able to hear grandpa Engbers preach in Rock Valley. They had just returned from Florida so it was nice to see them again. We also had lunch with them on Tuesday and enjoyed visiting with them very much! Now we are back at home, I worked last night and will work again this weekend. Jon has the rest of the week off of school and will restart and go at his studying hard again until spring break. Tonight Jon and I both have ABSOLUTELY nothing on the schedule which is oft...
