Sean's Musical Skillz

Sean is a naturally cheerful fellow. He hums or sings while he does various other activities, like eating breakfast, or playing with toys, or using the bathroom. I think it's adorable and it's funny to hear how he is trying to make more of his songs rhyme now. The other day we were driving to Amy's (it takes about an hour) and he asked Jon to turn off the radio so he could sing. Here's part of his song. I'm not offended if you don't listen to the whole thing. I pretty much only expect my mom to do that, but make sure you don't miss the concluding 20 seconds or so.

Living in Heaven (or pretty close)

While we are waiting for our home purchase to go through, we are living with our very good friends. It has been heavenly. Not just for me, but for the kids too. Matthew in particular is so happy to be living under the same roof as his favorite friend Eliza. The whole time we were away, Matthew would ask on a regular basis when we were going to Eliza's house and get really upset when I told him it was too far to see her that particular day. I heard it was pretty much the same at her house too. She even got mad at her mom and told her that she was going to move in to Matthew's house. When they finally got to see each other again it was as if no time had passed at all. They got right to playing and having a great time together. The first few days they made a little "house" behind the couches and lined up toys in the window sills. They pretend to be Strawberry Shortcake characters and various animals. They rarely argue and look for one another each morning. At the end of the day, when I ask Matthew what he's thankful for, it's nearly always that we're at Eliza's house.

They are super silly together and it will be hard to leave. Good thing we aren't moving terribly far away and they will still be in Primary together.

Sean is also having a great time living with our friends. Some of the things he loves are the chickens, the trails in the woods on their property, a nice driveway where he rides his bike often, and fun older kids to play with. One of the kids, Molly, made bow ties out of tin foil for all the little kids and they were so excited to decorate them with markers. Sean was feeling very dapper and requested that I take some pictures of him with his bow tie.

Molly is like the fun big sister that my boys don't have. She spoils the kids with crafts and projects every day. She even drew a driving course on the driveway with chalk that the kids absolutely love. It has one way arrows, stop signs, parking lots, the works! Here's a video of Sean practicing his riding skills.

I can't imagine a better place to be while we wait for our house. We feel so blessed to have friends that are so willing to open their home to us. It's truly awesome.
