It's Alive!!

Jon was given an old motorcycle for his birthday (in March) and some money to fix it up. Since he graduated he's been working on it whenever he can. We've also been out of town often, so he hasn't had as much time as I'm sure he would have liked.

Today he is finishing it up and it started up perfectly! It sounds really good and you can see that Jon is really pleased about it. I'm proud of him that he's handy enough to have made it happen.

2009 Formula SAE National Competition

Jon just got back from the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition in Fontana, California. Oregon State came in 2nd place!! I'm so pleased for them and all their hard work. I'm especially happy for Jon because last year they didn't get to finish because of the car failing before or during (I can't remember now) one of the races. Jon worked very hard on the car this year as it was his senior project. I'm just glad all the hours spent at the shop paid off!


It's a pretty cool looking car. And apparently pretty fast too. The results are up here, so you can be impressed.

We missed Jon terribly while he was gone, but we got to talk to him a couple times every day, so that was nice. Each morning while looking out the window Sean would ask, "Daddy at school? Daddy come home?" Needless to say, we are overjoyed to be together again.
