Jordan's First Birthday!

Stadium of Fire Preperation

Alexis was invited to dance in the Stadium of Fire this July. The cost to do so is more than we were willing to pay but Alexis really wanted to do it. We told her if she earned the money she could go. She made these cute magnets and went selling door to door. She made the money she needed in two weekends!

The first neighborhood she went to she ended up with a gang of kids wanting to sell with her.

She also ended up with hives from head to toe. I'm not sure where it came from but she wasn't so happy about the itching.

The magnet idea came from doing the party favors for the Relief Society Birthday party. I think they turned out adorably cute if I do say so myself!

Snow White Casket

This is the look I get when I force John to do something and then proceed to look like a stalker while doing it.

But seriously, wouldn't you have wanted a picture of this? I have never seen a horse drawn glass casket carrier. I had to go back three times to get this picture. The first time the camera said it took the picture but when I got home there were none! The second time I went back they were loading the casket into the carrier and I just didn't think it was right to try and take a picture at that moment. So I went and sat by the cemetery so I could get a good picture! I don't know who died, but it was obviously a cowboy/girl. Their funeral looked lovely, I just hope they didn't notice the stalker!

A Boy and His Lizard

Drew LOVES his gecko Spiky. He loves showing him to people even more. Most people are revolted at the idea of a lizard with spikes (which are actually not spiky at all) crawling up their arm, but not Drew. He thinks it's fabulous to let Spiky crawl all over him and to hand feed him crickets! It's better than a dog. The poop this thing produces is much less and by far smaller!

Naughty Jordan and Jocelyn

This was the only picture that turned out half way decent to show the size difference in Jordan and Isabella. Isabella is older by a week! Jordan is taller and a lot heavier!

Jocelyn decided to paint her nails - by herself. She's actually pretty good at not making a huge mess. She put her toilet paper on top of the toilet lid and she had her nail polish set out and ready to go. She keeps it on the top section of her finger, for the most part. When you add Jordan to the mix it becomes a nightmare! She didn't want Jordan getting her nail polish so she gave him his own bottle - without the lid! Jordan started screaming when he realized that it didn't taste so good. John wanted to cry when he got home and realized that he was the lucky one that got to clean the bathroom!

Flour anyone? Jordan found some flour and decided to bathe himself in it. He thought that he was pretty funny.

Jordan found blue candy, or someone gave it to him. Either way, he goobered the window and everything else he touched!

Jordan demonstrated his new found climbing skills while we were at the dentist. He was very proud of himself and Jocelyn thought it was great fun!

The best way to get what you want..... slobber all over your siblings' candy! They weren't too happy with Jordan's tactics of getting what he wanted.

Lest you think that Jordan is the only one that does naught things here are a few shots of Jocelyn for you. She loves her some lipstick!

A New Stove and Cooktop - Finally!

The oven died. I cooked a roast for four hours and when I took it out it was still frozen in the center. Wall ovens are expensive. I was unaware of this prior to telling John it was time to buy a new one. The only place in Logan that had one in stock wanted $1500 for it and it wasn't even that great. We looked up Home Depot and Lowes and they both were at least a week out and just as expensive. I took my search to the internet and found Plessers in New York. They were having a fabulous sale with amazing rebates and free shipping. I got the wall oven - convection too - and the cook-top, both professional grade, for $1600! I was so excited. The four week wait tempered a lot of that excitement, but once John got them in I was excited again!
The cook-top we bought was too big for the hole in our counter so John got to play carpenter! He did such a good job of measuring, remeasuring and then measuring again that it fit perfectly! Jordan loved playing in the big open space when Daddy wasn't sawing and making a big mess. It took me three days to get all the sawdust cleaned up and gone.

Pinched Nerve

This is not the pinched nerve reason. Although you would think that putting makeup on like that would get on a few people's nerves! She was very proud of herself. Mommy was not as proud but I did enjoy a giggle.

John likes to play church ball during the winter, he's come home bruised a few times. This happened to be the only game that the kids and I were able to go to. The next morning John was complaining that his foot hurt. Three weeks later I finally convinced him to go see a Dr. So, Mommy called the doctor and the doctor said: Pinched nerve. He gave him some anti-inflammatories, super strength ones, and two weeks later John was good as new!
