Valentines morning, I called John whining that the kids woke up at 7:19 am. Honestly it is too early for any human to be awake on a Saturday. John had to work that morning, so it was up to me to deal with them. I was so very tired and I didn't want to get ready for the day but I couldn't find any of John's hats, so I had to do my hair. I walked into the 1/2 bath by the kitchen and found this: (approx. 60 balloons)He had made a fancy invitation to a "princess like" ball in our theater room. (It's the nicest and cleanest room in the house, so it's kind of a relaxing place to go without having to get a babysitter and go drop a lot of cash on a crowded dinner somewhere.) It made my day much better. (The night before I had given him his gift (a pirate pez dispenser) because the kids blew the secret, it didn't seem to compare. However, on Wednesday we went to the Jazz vs. Lakers game for his gift, and what a game it was.) The kids loved playing with the balloons and it made my day much less stressful with them having something to do. That night, he had a little table set up with raspberry cheesecake and sparkling cider and romantic music playing. He had written me a sweet letter and then he gave me a five year anniversary/Valentine's gift- diamond earrings - princess cut hence the whole princess theme. I'm so spoiled.
Madison is so close to crawling it's exciting, yet I'm dreading the day it happens. I'm going to have to put gates back up and watch her every move. It is fun to see her learning new things though.
Drew had an accident in his pants the other day and when I asked him why he didn't use the toilet, he says: "Cause I didn't run". Whenever he has to go to the bathroom, I always tell him to run, maybe I shouldn't tell him that every time anymore.
John took a piece of corn and was acting like he was going to flick it at me. I didn't notice until Drew took a handful of corn and threw it across the table trying to mimic his dad. I don't think John realized that they would mimic him so quickly!
Alexis about six months ago told me that she didn't like me anymore and she wanted to trade mommies. I made her happy the other day, not sure what I did, but she informed me that she wanted to keep me and didn't want to trade me any more. How sweet huh? Where do little kids learn these things?
When I feel the urge to use a not nice word I will spell it so the kids don't repeat it. Alexis yesterday started saying: "H-I-L-L-N" I had no clue what she was trying to do, but it dawned on me today she's copying my choice 4-letter word. Luckily she's not getting it right yet. I guess I have to stop spelling it now. Stink.
