I've had some people ask me when I'm going to post some updates on Abby's room. Well, it's not quite finished, but it's getting there. I decided to sell all of Abby's Ikea furniture that she's had since she was four, and start over again. I also didn't love the bedding I originally bought, so I sold that as well and got some that I love. Because the new bedding is more yellow than the other bedding it didn't match the ceiling color, so I painted it white again.
The headboard was Bill's grandparents' that we've been storing for years. I don't know why it took me so long to realize it would be perfect in Abby's room. I stripped it and painted it black. I'm still searching for a taller antique table for her nightstand. I bought the lamp at DI for $6, the shade for $2, covered it with new fabric and added some trim.
I bought the dresser on ksl and painted it. It was my first time using my new paint sprayer. It took a little time to get used to, but I love it. I bought a pair of PEACH wingback chairs from my SIL (Teri) that I still need to have reupholstered. (The other one is in my bedroom.)
I bought the desk at DI. It was in really bad shape, but after sanding, puttying, more sanding, more puttying and some black paint it turned out darling. You can't see it in the pic, but it has some really pretty detailed woodwork on it. I'm still searching for the perfect little chair for it (little being the key word.) I bought the two curtain panels at Ikea for $14 for the pair!
I have done some work in Sophie's room as well. I sold all of her furniture as well (including the crib...snif) and found a few cute things for her.
I found the cute cream iron bed at DownEast. I found the little table at DI for $10, stripped it, painted the legs and refinished the top.
I found the dresser on ksl which was in really bad shape. I stripped the whole thing (I hate stripping btw) refinished the top and painted the rest. All the frames are from DI. But the best thing in this pic is the little cradle my dad made for Sophie. Isn't it beautiful?????
So, I'm now on to my bedroom. I'm getting rid of my blue walls that I've pretty much hated since about the hour after I finished painting them 2 1/2 years ago. I always love a project!
