Laura and I doing a rocking version of 12 days of Christmas we wrote on Christmas Eve.
Well I think from September to now is enough time to keep everyone in great anticipation for our next great post. I'm sorry to disappoint, but this one will be pretty dull as the rest. Yes, all two of them. I guess I'm just not that reliable. I saw our blog has over a hundred views. I'm pretty sure that's from Ang checking to see if there is anything new and just getting annoyed.
Anyway on to more important things. Some pretty exciting stuff has happened since the last time I posted. Laura and I are living the American dream and moved back in with my parents. Yes I really am a prize husband. I spent months unemployed and moved my wife in with my folks. If that's not a provider I don't know what is. It''s been an interesting few months. We moved in just before Christmas and it's been quite a change. My parents are great though and I'm happy it's happened in a way because Laura's has gotten to know my parents better. As many of you know it's hard not to like my parents, as insane as they are.
I recently graduated from BYU in broadcast journalism. I know, I hardly believe it myself. I barely got through high school and now I've graduated from a university. Laura is getting ready to start her last semester of school. She's the really impressive one. She's going to graduate in nursing. She's insanely smart and a really hard worker. I know what you're thinking, but I don't know why she ended up with me either.
She's in D.C. right now for school. She's only going to be there for a week, but still I hate her being gone. That's part of the reason I'm doing this at 2:00 in the morning. I can't sleep while she's gone. Anyway she's enjoying it and I'm jealous.
We had a spot of good fortune recently as well. After being out of work for about three months a neighbor, Blake Hobson offered me a job. He has a security company and he brought me on as an installer. I really enjoyed it. He was a great guy to work for and he really took care of us. I felt really bad, however, because I left after only three weeks. That's because I was offered a job at KSL.
It really surprised me. KSL, along with all the local stations, are in freezes. That's why I was unemployed for awhile. I really wanted to work in television because that's what I graduated in. Well they needed to fill a position and I was lucky enough to be chosen. I am now an assignment desk editor for KSL TV. I'm really happy. I work with great people and work for a great company. I'm learning a lot and I'm definitely the new guy. Not only in terms of how long I've worked there, but also I'm just out of school. It's been a challenge in some ways, but I couldn't be more excited to be working at KSL.
Laura and I are doing well and have a lot to look forward to. I'd like t say I'll be better about posting, but I can't make any promise, sorry Ang.
