Too much time at home.......

Building a bird feeder! It was either build a bird feeder or read the Foot and Ankle book behind William. We chose the craft.
Ok, talk about being inside for too long..... this is William with pigtails!!!! I couldn't resist!

Cleaning up some of the spilled birdseed. Maybe reading John's book would have been the smarter choice!

Hanging the birdfeeders outside.

William trying to catch the birdfeeder.

We have been spending most of our days (and nights) at home lately. Today, William and I were both getting very stir crazy, so I decided to do a little craft. Not a very smart thing to do with a 22 month old and a nursing infant!!!! But, I gathered the supplies and set out to make a bird feeder. (thanks to Jamie Grizzle for the idea) Everything was going great until I went to check on Edward in the nursery. When I got back, William had dumped birdseed ALL OVER the kitchen floor. Yes, we did the craft inside because it was so wet and gross outside. Now, it is naptime and I will be spending most of it sweeping up birdseed. We did have a great time, but I will not be attempting another activity until another adult is present. Enjoy the pictures!

Brothers

William gets so excited when he gets to hold Edward!
If I put Edward down, William is always close behind! And, yes, Edward loves to be swaddled!

William pointing out Edward's eye.

I finally caught a smile on camera!!!!!

Poor Edward! He always looks so uncomfortable in William's arms! I can't imagine why.......

I thought I would post some pictures of the boys. William always wants to hold Edward. He says, "I hold, I hold" until I give in! Once I get them situated, William wants me to take a picture. He smiles nicely for the picture, and then he starts pointing to Edward, identifying his features. He will point out Edward's hair, ears, eyes, fingers, etc.. He comes dangerously close to poking Edward's eye out!!!! William is also always on "paci patrol". If Edward makes even the slightest sound, William is on the case, finding the paci and shoving it in Edward's mouth. Poor Edward. He doesn't even cry--he just lets William cram the paci until he finally takes it.
Edward is such a good baby so far! He gets up once a night and goes right back to sleep after eating. During the day, he still mainly sleeps. When he is awake, he seems pretty content. He has gotten a bit fussy this past week, but nothing like William was at this age. He started smiling a couple of weeks ago, and now, the smiles are becoming more frequent. William gets the most smiles out of Edward! That's probably because William is always in Edward's face!!!

Overall, William has adjusted very well to having a little brother. I know they will be big buddies one day! That is, if Edward survives!!!! :)

More Holiday Fun

William and John checking out the llama. This was at the zoo, not the live nativity!
Baby Charlie and William. They are big buddies!

Here we are FREEZING at the zoolight safari!

More animals to see......

William riding in the monster double stroller!!!!

We are really getting into the Christmas spirit at our house! This week, we went to a walk-through nativity at a local church. We took William last year, and he loved the animals, so we went back this year. Well, let me tell you, it was FREEZING!!!!!! We moved very quickly through all the scenes. William did enjoy seeing the goats, sheep, and camel. We went with our friends Adam and Karen and their little baby, Charlie. William loves "Char Char"!

Then, last night, we headed to the Zoolight Safari. Once again, FREEZING!!!!!! We used the double stroller and kept Edward completely covered under 3 blankets. He stayed nice and toasty, but the rest of us weren't so comfortable. We rode the train and William loved seeing Santa. They also had a petting zoo/barn with animals for William to see.

Tonight, the boys and I are stayed in and John headed out to his work Christmas party. He needed somthing to cheer him up after hearing of the new Auburn football coach!!!! William and I made some Christmas cookies complete with icing and sprinkles. I'm pretty sure William only ate cookies for supper. No wonder it took him 45 minutes to fall asleep!!

All Aboard!!

William looks unhappy in this picture, but he actually did really well. No tears!!

Yum, yum!

The whole gang. We left Edward with my mom. I think William enjoyed the time alone with both of us.

We headed to the Polar Express Saturday night with our friends Phil and Melanie. William had a great time riding the train and seeing Santa. He especially loved the chocolate milk and cookie!

Tagged!

Here is the 4th picture in my 4th folder. This was June 2007. William was 4 months old and we were on a beach trip with John's family. William was such a chunk!!!!!

Little Tigers

Two boys in diapers--no wonder we don't have any money!!!!
It looks like I now have 2 babies who love their pacis!!!!! If I could just keep William from stealing Edward's!!!!

A visit from Kate, Ella, and Anna Claire. William had a great time playing with the girls!

Edward's first Iron Bowl--maybe next year will be better!

William's reaction to the game--A sad ending to a disappointing season!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We headed to Florence for Thanksgiving this year. We had a very quick trip, leaving Wednesday afternoon and coming back Thursday night. Both boys did great in the car, thanks to Baby Einstein!!! We enjoyed seeing most of John's family. It's very hard to get everyone there at the same time! William played outside with his cousins most of the afternoon. He even got to ride on one of Papa's horses! Edward slept all day, of course!!!

Today, it's back to reality. John is on call and he has been gone all day. My mom is out of town, so I'm solo with the boys. We're making it just fine, but I will have to say I am getting a bit stir crazy!!!!!! We are all 3 still in our pajamas. Fun times!

I hope John doesn't have to work all day tomorrow--I know he doesn't want to miss the Iron Bowl. War Eagle to everyone!!!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Well, John and I decided to put up our Christmas decorations yesterday. I put William and Edward in their new Christmas pajamas for some photo opportunities. That didn't go so well. I've always heard it is nearly impossible to get two kids to sit still and look at the camera. I now know that is so true!!!!! This is the best I could get.

Edward is growing and doing great! He still sleeps a ton and William is slowly getting used to having a baby around the house. We are heading to Florence for Thanksgiving--wish us luck on our first road trip with two under two!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Party of Four!

My three Auburn boys! War Eagle!!!!!!!
William wasn't too sure about sharing his chair with Edward, but he did a great job of sitting still for the picture.

Well, we have been home now for 3 nights/3 days, and so far, things are going well. John's mom is here helping us with everything, and my mom is in town, so she is also a big help. William doesn't really like me holding Edward, but he is getting more used to the idea. He has asked to hold Edward several times.

Our nights have been fairly smooth so far, but I know that will change. Edward is a great sleeper when he is swaddled up.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! We will be adding more pictures as we take them!!!

Edward David Mann

William greeting Edward at home. (Once again, my pictures are out of order!!!)

Soon after delivery. Yes, I do have on a gown :)

A close up of Baby Edward.

He is finally here and he is perfect! I went in to be induced Wednesday morning around 6:30. They got me settled in a room and the doctor broke my water at 6:45. With William, we did basically the same thing and he was born at 4:00 that afternoon. Not the case this time. By 10:00, I was basically ready to push. After 18 short minutes of pushing, he was here! He weighed 7 lbs., 15 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long. Yes, he looks a lot like William. I'll add more pictures soon.

We got to leave the hospital last night (a bit early!!!!), and amazingly, our first night home wasn't too bad. Edward seems to be a good baby so far. As for William, he is doing as well he can. He still wants Mommy to hold him all the time, but I know he will adjust quickly. He is enjoying the kitchen that Edward brought him as a gift :)

We will post more pictures soon. This is nap time for 2 boys and their very sleepy mommy!

Halloween and Superhero Party!

William eating "Spookburgers" before we headed out to trick-or-treat. They are really just sloppy joes--not my favorite, but John's family always had them on Halloween night, so we are continuing the tradition.
My pictures are out of order AGAIN!!!!! This was today at a Super Hero birthday party. The kids all looked so cute dressed up!

Super William playing hard!

Back to Halloween..... This is my neice, Taylor, my mom, and William right before we started trick or treating.

KK and William. We forgot William's pumpkin, so KK made him a replacement bag. It worked great!
If anyone knows how to rearrange pictures or how to add more pictures to a post, please let me know! I can only upload 5 pics with each post, and they are always jumbled up!!!!!
Our next post could very well be from the hospital!!! We are taking our laptop, but since it is extremely old, we aren't sure it can upload photos. If not, we will post an update and do pictures as soon as we get home!
