May 2013: Memorial Day and Mother's Day

The kids made me some gifts for Mother's Day.

All of the grandkids

Gordon B. Hinkley's grave
We went up to Salt Lake to visit the family. During our stay, we went to the Salt Lake Cemetery to visit John's brother Jim's grave. After we stayed there for a little while, we went for a walk around the cemetery to find President Hinkley's grave. I really like walking around cemeteries and reading the names because I love that there is so much history there.

May 2013: Home TLC and the End of School

The finished living room.

The mantle that John and John Jr. put together.

The kids getting on the bus for the last day of school.

This month we've been working a lot on our house. We painted the whole living room, kitchen, and the entry of the house. We removed the tile that was surrounding our fireplace. John and John Jr. built a mantle to put above the fireplace. Our house definitely feels more cozy and homey. We also went to David's Kindergarten graduation. They put together a very nice program and we enjoyed it very much. He is very excited to start first grade next year.

March 2013: School Projects and the birth of Eliza Joan Campbell

March was a big month for everyone. John Jr. went to FBLA State in Layton, UT. Even though his group didn't make it to nationals, they had good time. Michelle Taylor (Chuck's wife) is in charge of the FBLA group at Cedar High so John had the opportunity to join FBLA here. Daniel and David had a science fair so they each had to do a project. David's project was about finding shapes in the world. He was able to find a learn about different shapes. Daniel's project was called 'Taste Perception'. It was to see if colors could affect the way people thought things tasted. They both did a really good job and because they participated, the PTA took the participants to the movies.

Here's the really BIG news:
Eliza Joan Campbell was born on March 15th. She's such a beautiful baby. The kids and I had the opportunity to go meet her during our spring break. She's such an angel. She loves posing for the camera. She's very healthy and already smiling! We're so happy to see our lineage grow.

February 2013: Birthdays and more

In February Daniel had the opportunity to participate in a play at school. He enjoyed it and it was nice of them to let him be a part of it since he was new at the school. I turned 42 years old this old (I'm so old!). I may be old in years, but I feel young in energy. John Jr. turned 16 this year on the 13th. He was ordained by his dad to the office of a priest. I feel so grateful because he is the first on my family's side to have the priesthood. I believe that is a such a blessing because I have the gospel in my life.

This cake was given to John by some friends in his dance class.
