i decided that since this is my thousandth post, it shall also be my last post here. and i decided to leave WITH A BIG BANG! so here's a flood of pictures. i have been here for 6 years and i think i have posted less than 4 pictures on this space because idk im genius like that. posting this massive amount of pictures hung my browser 6000 times and the coding's all screwed up but i can't be bothered to make it nais nais.

HAHA SIX YEARS THATS FUCKING LONG. like abit heart pain to go. six years. i realised most of my closest friends i have i've known for 6 years. the whole 6 years thing overwhelms me. haha. oh well.

as mentioned, I couldn't fall asleep for quite a long while. or did i not type it down? i went through thi crazy phase where i really couldnt sleep. i went 4 nights without sleep not cos i didn't want to but cos i couldn't. i settled with forcing myself to sleep every alternate night as a compromise. it was fun. i had alot of time on my hands.

so I went crazy baking/cooking. Really crazy.

(mind you i only got my camera like 4ish weeks prior to the last picture. SO MUCH MORE not photographed. i also got a camera that falls very well between a dslr and a compact cam, thinking that I'm fucking noob and i dont want a dslr, but i dont want a compact because I want to be in full control of my pictures. pui wrong fucking decision. the compact cam aspects of the camera is ANNOYING ME TTM and it makes me use the "intelligence" mode more often than I'd like BUT ITS NOT INTELLIGENT AT ALL LAH CCB. okay enough camera rant)

oh and cannot sleep = bake/cook = no sunlight thats why the colour damn cui okay dont judge. its more of "just documenting what i did with my time" rather than "OOH LOOK PRETTY PICTURES OF FOOD" [:

was trying to get it as close to kovan orlua as possible despite not having a raging fire/being generally unwilling to add oil like free. impossible. okay nothing is impossible. shall try till i succeed. sometime. its actually my like, 2nd or 3rd favourite orlua.

they were all one batch of cupcakes so here's a together picture for good measure [: (kanina why the colours look so dull when uploaded on blogger?!) WHY WHY WHY?! all the pictures actually supposed to be damn bright/vibrant and irl they were damn vibrant also. when I gave X the cupcakes he was like "whalao the cupcake so colourful makes me damn scared to eat them because my mind associates colour = sweet" wtf damn stupid i'm sorry haha.

i liked them so much i made batch #2, and version 2 with bacon bits.

and versions 3 & 4 with chocolate and black sesame respectively.

i love the black sesame ones la they look like frickin pebbles. :D

terrible unfocused picture (okay la focus on the wrong spot. stupid-mode \: ) of my zhimahu/black sesame paste! i was on a huuuge black sesame kick for awhile. I made this 4 nights straight. Its fucking yummy :D

then... i went on a mad ang ku kueh kick. i remember making poor C hunt for AKKs with me at like 5am in the morning. I settled on making some myself. and of course i had to make them purple instead of "ang" heh heh heh. but fuck lah stupid washed out pictures uploaded on blogger makes it look slightly grey. its a really pretty lavenderish shade of colour. pre-steamed.

then my moulds got sticky after making like, idk, an army of them. srsly i think i made a hundred angkukuehs. so i decided to use up the rest of the dough by rolling them with gula melaka inside since i only had a little left. they were frickin awesome i wish i made more of it. [:

various fillings like black sesame (yes my gian/food phases overlapped. i was still very much in my black sesame phase when the AKK obsession started) young&old taro paste, bean paste, i had peanut and redbean pastes as well, no idea why they're not in the picture. i think they were still boiling. yeah i didn't prepare this beforehand or anything. i just decided OKAY TODAY I WNA MAKE MANY AKK so i waited for everybody to go to sleep and started boiling the pastes one by one and assembling the akks. i wasn't done even past daybreak. i know im mad but you know thats why you love me [:

i know i damn siao bo tai bo ji gian akk then go buy mould and make at 3am in the morning. i remember i was vidcalling with KW and he said i damn auntie. but idc I THINK I DAMN COOL COS HOW MANY PPL YOU KNOW OUR AGE CAN MAKE AKK! HAH. idc i say i cool means i cool.

then i suddenly craved for kueh/kiuh bangkits. no fucking idea why. i never liked them before. i probably ate less than 10 of those in my life. so i decided to try and make some, but i used the akk moulds i had first just incase they failed since i read that they're hard to get perfect. and im a sucker for making things perfect. i went and bought (and polished off) 3 boxes of store-made "good"-as reviewed by people KBKs to eat, partly as a "survey" to see what a good kbk is, but mostly to satisfy my crazy craving.

kbk batch 2. took me forever to pinch them (yes the patterns are frickin hand-pinched okay!) in effort to be more traditional. pre-baked.

then i made rabbit kbks as well! cos rabbit year, i love bunnies, and i got rabbit cutter! HOW TO NOT MAKE RABBIT KBKS! pre-baking.

how cute do they look right! couldn't be stacked, though. ears were too fragile. damn, i want me some cny goodies now ):

double chocolate mint-chip cookies. because C said he wanted mint cookies. and he's how cute how i reject him right. okay actually i really procrastinated on these because idk cookies felt boring to make, then he saved my life so i got down to making them out of gratitude. but they came out really nice, delightfully chewy in the middle. and damn shit yummy lah. so damn glad i made them! but of course he came and collected them only 3 days after i baked them or smth so they were more crunchy alr (AND STALE LAH KNN) ): but he say nice then nice lor. haha (i think C too polite to tell me if it sucks also. correct anot? (fuckk tio bo omg))

akk came back to haunt me for abit.

not exactly edible but they are baked. my blind baby bear and elephant! just because i bake finish liao and still cannot sleep. |: and wasnt due to meet anybody for a couple of hrs.

then SN said "I want a green purple and orange cake!" and "I like banana cake!"

browner bananas were caramelised w brown sugar just cos i wanted to see if there was any difference. should've used rawer bananas for caramelising.

birthday cake! this was such a pain, and it took for-fucking-ever to make! oh god i slaved in the kitchen for a whole week for this. and its the last thing i baked. DAMN SCARED OF FLOUR LIAO WTF. bottom tier was a rainbow cake, top tier was a chocolate strawberry cake. with butter cream, and chocolate. and making the fondant was such a pain. oh god it scares me to even think about the cake. but how cute is the bow! haha. i made pretty roses with fondant as well but i didn't want to spend an entire day making fondant roses for the cake so i didn't use any of them (:
