Happy Birthday!

April 19th! - Celebrate, it's
Jacki and A.J.'s birthdays!
Jack had us all over for
cake and ice cream.
Aren't they cute!
His loving Mom!
A.J. said this birthday was going to
be boring turning 20! I wish I could
turn 20 again!Well of course I couldn't forget Anne!
She turns 11 today. Thank goodness
it's her birthday so I will be nice to her,
(more about her later!)
The last few months I've been writing down
some of things of why we love Jack. We
have had fun doing this and as you read the
list, honestly you can't tell me that it
doesn't bring a smile to your face!
Have you ever heard her say, "I'm throwing a
little paint on the barn"?
Or . . . . . "I'm unsaddling the girls"
Good Pray!
Fiddle dee dee!
Save some for Kevy!
Love night!
I'm sweating like a whore in church!
I'm sure you've received your
"Red Box Monday" text!
Cracker me!
"We are women and we are strong"
(that is an inside joke)
"I'm going to take a little nappy!"
"If you can't see the camera, the
camera can't see you!"
"There will be 3 flashes"
If some of these make no sense, just ask
any of my girls and they will tell you
what they all mean.
Some of Jack's things she is known for . . .
When she is camping alone, her goal
is to never step out of the trailer.
She won't get out of bed until
she has read her scriptures!
If you ever move or have a
new appliance, she will
put it together, fix it
or whatever it takes to make
it work.
Junk Store!
Garage Sales!
Bargain Shopper!
What an amazing sister and aunt she is
to me and my girls. We love you!
Hope you have a great birthday!

Sarah - April 15th - One Month Old!

I can't believe how fast time goes by. This is Sarah
when she was about 2 1/2 weeks old. She is like
a little live doll, just perfect!
A visit from her Aunt Cortney and Linsdey.
Also Aunt Ashley!
This was my real first night of babysitting while
Chelsea and Joey went to a show. They were
gone for 3 hours and the first two hours I
just got to talk to her and play.
I still can't get enough of her! Will that ever
wear off?
She is a day away from being 1 month in this
picture. At her 2 week check up her weight
was at 37% her height at 21% and her head
was at 78%! The doctor said she was doing
great. I thought this picture was appropriate
because it makes her head look a little big!
She is perfect!
This was her first big outing. Yesterday Chelsea,
Sarah, Lindsey and I met Cortney in
Salt Lake for lunch. Of course Sarah did great!
This picture was taken today, so exactly
one month old. She is such a good baby.
Chelsea has done really well with her schedule.
For the most part she eats around 11:00 p.m.
and then gets up around 2:00 and then 5:00 a.m.
I hope I got that right.
We love you little Sarah!

Cooking for Fun!

For Valentines Day Lindsey received a package from
Landon. One of the things was a recipe book.
He wanted Lindsey to practice while he was gone.
(Plus there is only so much you can buy in the
MTC bookstore!) She has decided to cook
everything in the book for the next 52 weeks
and we have to go in order, no skipping around!
Because Lindsey has 5 different jobs her time
is limited and she decided to do this
weeks, on Sunday!
Well for this week it was a fancy macroni
and cheese and then clam chowder with a fruit
cake for dessert! Uhm ya. . . . no wonder missionaries
but on a little weight while they are out. (The book is
for missionaries or nervous cooks) Ashley is a little
upset about the whole Sunday dinner for yesterday.
She wants the "normal" Sunday dinner.
This was the beautiful fruit cake that she actually took
to her Dad's. He called and invited them all over for
dinner at the last minute so Ashley was a little
releaved. We only made the clam chowder, which by
the way was fantastic and the fruit cake. Doesn't she
look like a natural? This is the part that she said she would need Landon
home to help keep 2 things going at once!
You have to zoom into her face to get the
full effect!
This was the connoisseur for the clam chowder.
I think it passed the test!
Next week is Salmon with mashed potatoes. A
little more reasonable for Sunday. We'll throw in
some fruit and vegtables!

72 Hour Kits!

Yes, my kids think I have gone crazy but it's been kind of fun!
My ward has been doing an Emergency Preparedness Forum
this year. They have outlined topics that started in January
and go to November. On Thursday nights I have my family
over for dinner and then Joey and his friend, Dustin and
myself, go to the meeting. (Keat went last time and
loved it!) Some of things that we have learned about is
water storage, making a solar still, how to stay warm and dry,
indoors and out, our 72 hour kits, as modeled above. I hope we
never have to use them because I can barely lift mine. (Ashley
marched around saying she hoped we really got to use them!)
I won't mention that she made fun of me the whole time.
One of the things we have in there is chalk. She can't wait to
write "WE ARE HEADING SOUTH". Isn't she funny! (I believe
the chalk was to keep my kids entertained when they were
little so I decided to keep it in there.) Lindsey just cranked
her hand radio and turned on music to dance to while we
put them together. Very entertaining! We also learned about
storing a 3 month supply of things we eat all the time. We
learned about gardens last week. This week is sprouting
seeds for Vitamin C. It has been a lot of fun and Joey keeps
me going. In a few weeks they will talk about dehydrating
food and he has all ready bought one and started.
(Mine will be here in a few days! : ) ) Anyway if your
interested the website is
It has made me really think each week, about what my
priorities are and how I can work towards being prepared for
hopefully, an easy disaster. (Is there such a thing?)
P.S. You may be thinking, why hasn't she done
this before? Well I had many years ago, but my 72 hour
kits had diapers in them and when I moved I
threw out most of my outdated storage.
