Never say Never
All growing up I would say that I would never own a mini van, only SUV for my family. Since Gypsy (My Mazda) decided to throw a rod, meaning I would need a new engine. We had to decide, do we fix the Mazda or get a new car. Once we got the quote from the dealer stating that the repair would be over 6,000 dollars that made the decision a little easier since my car was only worth about $7,000. So it was out to the dealerships, and looking online. So for about a month we looked and then we decided that I would drive the Xterra and that we would buy just a little commuter car for Jeff. As we looked online for some time we just couldn't find anything and if we did by time we called it had been sold. So we decided once again to look for a mini van, so after the race we went to just look at one and ended up buying it. I have enjoyed having it, the one thing that sold me on the mini van is the automatic sliding doors, I just love them!!! SO I say never say never because you never know, and now I'm a proud owner of a MINI VAN!!!

The past 11 weeks I have been training for the Salt Lake City Half Marathon that was held on April 16th. My good friend Ann Marie and I ran it together, it is so fun to run with her. During my training I felt good I was running two days during the week, cross training two days and my long runs on Saturdays. But as the race day was drawing closer I was getting a little nervous, I put a lot of pressure on myself. I set two goals 1: To run the whole thing without stopping, Because when I ran the half in 08 I walked the last 3 miles. 2: I wanted to finish in 2 hours in 10 min (10 min miles). Then came the race day, I had to wake up early since the race started at 7. With my fuel belt, Ipod, new running shoes, and a great running partner I was set. Once the race started I was feeling great we were keeping a 9:30 pace. Mile 1, 2, 3 went by fast and I was so glad to see my family at mile 6 and 9. The end of the race it a little more challenging especially since they had a incline at mile 12. But all in all it was fun, my finish time was 2 hours 4 min and 28 seconds. I was happy with that, I met both of my goals. This was such a great experience I can't say I loved every minute of it but it was good ,and I think I may try to run the Halloween Half in Oct.

Emma is 1
The last year has gone by so fast I look back over the last year and can't believe how fast it has flown by. Emma is changing every day, she sure makes our family laugh! Her smile just make you smile and her two front teeth are the cutest thing. She started walking about 11 months, we were hoping she would walk before her 1st birthday. Although it was a Frankenstein walk , she was walking. As the weeks have gone by the arms have started to drop and now she doesn't look so silly. Her birthday party was fun, we did a barnyard theme, since Emma can tell you the sounds a cow, a chick, and a dog make. We started the party our by making puppets our of lunch sacks the guests could choose from a pig or a cow. Then we did a little Ol' McDonald lost his animals and the kids had to find them and then we sung the song. Following that was presents, cake, and ice cream. What a great first birthday party!

Eliza's 4th Birthday
It's hard to believe Eliza is 4, okay she turned 4 in January (just a little late on the post)! This year she decided that she wanted to do a cousins party and have it be Ariel themed. We had a few games such as Ariel Bingo, pin the crown on Ariel and a fish pound. Of course we had to do our tradition of making and frosting a cake to match the theme. This year we decided to put the kids to bed a little earlier so we could tackle the cake and not be up to odd hours of the night, this year it was only till midnight. Every year we say we're not going to do it again but some how a year makes us forget and we do it again. Secretly we enjoy it! I think everyone had a great time I know Eliza did!
