Thread Organization
Recent sewing orders have requested some odd color threads. Most of those odd color threads I did not have, thus a trip to the thread store was necessary.
My current thread box is overflowing with spools, so when I accidently kicked this nifty box, I knew it would be a great addition to my sewing space.
The box was empty, but it didn’t take long before I had chosen lots of new thread to fill this beauty. All the same type of thread, on the same color spools. All with pink stickers on top. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh organization feels so great!
You say it’s just thread, what’s the big deal?
It’s like a new purse- you just want to use it now. I can’t wait to use these new threads and post the works on the Monogramming blog.
And……….last but not least- my little silver man is always close by!

Dogs Don’t Smile
Mom always says that Anna smiles at her.
Dad always laughs and says no way.
Bran says she’s making it up.
I caught it on camera yesterday!
I was talking to Anna and she smiled!

Smiles
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Really no reason for the absence besides the fact that I don’t usually get home until around 5:30 and I spend most of the night getting ready for the next day of school.
The year is going great- my class is so precious and eager to learn. Hop on over to my classroom blog and see all the things we learned about for the last two weeks.
A few random things:
Last weekend high school football started. WC hosted the Red Carpet Bowl and Deuce McAllister showed up. Maggie was dying to get her picture made with him- but was too chicken to ask so I asked him for a pic and jumped in with them.
It’s still so HOT in the ‘Sip and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed spending the last two Saturdays with my friends at the pool.
If you have not seen The Help- run to your local theatre and see it this afternoon. I read the book when it first came out and was super excited to see the movie. I usually don’t like the movie if I read the book first- but this movie was so close to the book it did not disappoint.
I’m looking forward to college football season! What about you?

Random Thoughts
- I survived the first week of kindergarten! You can check out my class blog to see all the fun things we did. I had a really hard time remembering to take pictures- so it’s a bit lacking in that department. It’s so hard to put into words all the things you really do in the first week. I’m looking forward to this year and getting to know my new class. This is my awesome assistant. Don’t think I’ve ever mentioned her- but she rocks!
- A wasp stung me at the pool today. I haven’t been stung in a long time and I almost immediately had a severe headache.
- Josh and I attended the FCA rally at FBC tonight and heard Coach Ken Hatfield speak. We are looking forward to high school football season and all it has to offer.
- No Josh isn’t a football coach, but the baseball team runs the concessions stand at all the home football games- so that makes us very involved with the football team.
- Lesson plans await. Have a great week!

Weekend Wrap Up
Slugger got a haircut earlier in the week. His normal groomer was out so the other one did it. Needless to say- she won’t be touching little naked Slugger again. He has NO hair on his legs or stomach.
The picture on the left is of Slugger’s normal “After Haircut” look. The picture on the right is of the most current look- naked.
I’ve been monogramming away at lots of back to school items! Backpacks, school uniform shirts, and dorm room comforters galore!
Josh and I attended the city wide back to school pep rally this morning. Our town has 4 high schools and 4 junior highs- so each group performed at the hottest pep rally on the face of the planet!
Hope you have had a great weekend! I’m packing my lunch and ironing clothes for the first day of school!

Classroom Tour
Since I mostly blog about what’s going on in my life and I’ve spent most of the past two weeks getting my classroom ready, here is a classroom tour.
Morning meeting board, calendar, and carpet area. Here is the view if you walk into the room and turn to your right.
Back right corner with bathroom and computer counter.
Back left corner with cubbies, classroom library, and our word work station. The door goes into the back of the classroom next door.
Home living
This is in the back corner by the computer counter looking toward hall door and front of the room.
Next up--- pictures of the super organized (thanks to my wonderful assistant) classroom closet!

5 or 15?
Last week I moved classrooms. Even though I was just moving next door I enlisted the help of some very willing teenage boys.
Some worked hard moving huge filing cabinets while others “cooked up” trouble or “watched out for a hard hat area”.
Two guys found the dress up clothes in a box and before I knew it lots of them had on pieces of kindergarten dress up items.
When I asked them to pose for a picture………………….
I wasn’t sure if I was photographing 5 year olds like are usually in my classroom….
With 24 guys, the entire process of flip flopping all items in two classroom only took less than 1 hour. There was LOTS of stuff to be moved- but they were a huge help!
Thanks guys!
