Making Progress

I'm making progress on the Olivia's room re-do. The walls are painted, the bedspread is on, and now I have hung some super cute stuff. I added a hot pink feather boa to a mirror that she had. Then, my pal, Pumpkin Delight, made these super cute prints for the room. Don't they just add the perfect touch?

Coming up next...Olivia's name in all its Cheetah Glory!!

Sunday Breakfast

Look who we got to nibble on for breakfast this morning!
The girls set Sofia up with tons of stuffed animals. She didn't know which one to choose.
On another note, Becky was telling me that she always sings the Yo Gabba Gabba song to Sofia. She was saying that she thought it was so weird that a kids song would say, "Foofa...she's freakin' friendly." To which Olivia replied (in her oh so sassy way)"It's "She's PINK and Friendly." We laughed so hard.

Star Student

Look who gets to be the first Star Student in 1st grade! Olivia and I made this poster today. She brings it to school on Monday and gets to share it with her class. She also gets to share something about herself each day next week. Needless to say, she's pretty excited about the whole thing!
Does this poster scream HER or what?

Skillz

Olivia: "Mama do you want to see my jump roping skills?"
Me: "You have jump roping skills, Liv?"
Olivia: "Yeah. I have total skills."

When exactly did my 5 year old turn 16?

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Friday night our weekend started with a super fun birthday party at the Aquatic Center. Our pal, Abbey, turned 7!! We followed up this party with another birthday party at, you guessed it, the Aquatic Center for Olivia's boy, Cole.

Next up, we visited my dear friend, Alissa to meet her newest baby, Dominic. The girls had so much fun playing with big brother Angelo. How cute is he?

We ended our Sunday with a trip to visit our boy cousins, Ethan and Evan. This concluded, I think, the month long Andy birthday celebration! You can tell from this picture how much fun the girls have when they get to see these silly boys.
It was a fun, fun weekend!

Sporty Spice

Sporty Spice aka Bella, started soccer today. She had her first practice at the park across from our house. Andy had taken her earlier in the week to get her soccer costume...you know, the shoes, the socks, the shin guards, shorts, and shirt. She sure did look cute. She almost looks like she knows what she's doing, right?

Here's the team. They will be called the tigers. When Bella saw the (obnoxious) color of her team she happily declared,"Oh good! Now I'll look like the yard duties!"
Yes. Yes, you will.

First Day of School

Here we are ready to start the 2009-2010 school year!

Bella is starting 2nd grade. It will be so much fun to have one of my girls in the grade that I teach!

Here's our little first grader! She has my old job share partner as one of her teachers this year. I'm so excited about that!
The first day was great! Olivia was nervous in the morning, but by recess she was all smiles. Bella told me she felt like she was 18 and not just a second grader! I guess she thinks she's hit the big time now!

Magic Mountain

I haven't been to Magic Mountain since 1995 when I first began dating Andy. Now, some 14 years later I am taking my girls to the park I spent much of my youth. Weird. So, we had a great time today. The girls had read 6 hours in a contest at school and earned free MM tickets. So, today was the day. We went with another family from school and had a great time. You know I'm a Disney girl so, it is tough for MM to compete. However, Bugs Bunny land was super fun with lots of rides that cater to chickens like Olivia. We also hit Jet Stream, Log Jammer, Gold Rush (where I lost my sun glasses and thought, "Yep. This is about as roller coaster-ish as I need to go."), and Roaring Rapids. I laughed so hard on Roaring Rapids watching everyone get drenched that I am pretty sure I peed my pants a little. I'm also pretty sure that we would have lost Olivia on that ride if I hadn't been holding onto her. She got a HUGE tidal wave over her head, followed by a bump against a wall that sent us both flying. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
I'd like to say that while at Disney:
* I never question the integrity of the ride structures themselves.
*I've never seen a door of a ride fly open.
* I've never seen an employee asleep on the job.
* I've never seen an employee reprimand a child or a parent.
* I've never seen a fly or a bee or smelled throw up.
I'm just saying.
