This is happening....

My BABY is starting to walk! He's not even 9 months old...what??? I thought I had more time! This video was taken on Tues and since then I've noticed that he's getting more and more comfortable on his feet. He walks from one place to the next if it's just a few feet away instead of crawling. He still can't go from sitting to standing without pulling up on something so I think I have at least a little bit more time before I will consider him a full blown walker but still, he's just growing so fast!

Proof

I uploaded some pictures from the camera last night and got so sad looking at this cute boy who's growing up too fast.

These are from when he was about 6.5 months old.

And these are from our trip to Ft. Fisher on Saturday, so about a month and a half later:

He looks older right?  Not so much of a baby anymore.  He's already standing on his own for so much longer than he was a week ago and he did actually take a step towards me yesterday so I have seen it with my own eyes.  He's also a pro at drinking out of a sippy cup now.  We used to just give one to him so he could play with it but last week I noticed he actually tilts his head back so he can drink out of it.  Stop growing so fast!

Another Update

Liam is 8 months old today!  So crazy.  He has grown so much in the past few months.  He started crawling right at 6 months and has been into everything ever since. Sometimes when he crawls, he'll get too excited and just flop. He will then lay on the floor for a lil bit almost as if he's trying to convince you that he meant to do that. He can pull up on just about anything and will walk along the furniture. Will says he's taken a step towards him on his own twice now but I haven't seen it. He can stand by himself but only for a couple seconds and then he grabs back on. He has his two bottom teeth and I'm pretty sure he's working on those top teeth right now.

He says dada pretty much ALL day long. He gives awesome slobbery kisses and has a really good grip so keep your hair out of his reach.  When he's excited about something his feet go crazy. He just constantly rotates them in circles. I believe his aunt and uncle said it was to keep the cankles away. :) He LOVES animals. Will's parents have a dog and Liam goes nuts over him every time he sees him. He also really likes my parents' cat Kota. He eats solids like a champ - the only thing he hasn't liked so far is cold pumpkin bread. He liked it when it was warm though.

When he nurses, or when I'm holding him to put him to sleep, he likes to prop his foot up on me. I think it's adorable. He also will grunt/growl at me if I tickle him or do something he thinks is funny while he's nursing. Also adorable. At his 6 month check up, he was 18 lbs - so he's a good sized baby. We love him to pieces and he keeps us smiling and laughing. Although he is starting to get in trouble for biting now.

Liam does this thing we like to call "hulking out". He's been doing it since about 4.5 - 5 months. He just screeches at you and it's so loud. He's not actually mad - he thinks it's funny. Well it has progressed to him straining himself to the point of his face turning bright red. The other night he was doing it while I was feeding him and I actually got a bit nervous because his face was so red and his eyes were watering. He still thinks it's so funny though.  Here's a video:

And some pictures of the last few months:

Don't You Ever Grow Up

I love watching Liam grow and learn new things but at the same time it makes me so sad that he's getting bigger.  On Friday I discovered that he has a tooth and I was depressed the rest of the day (It was Fri night so there were only a few hours left in the day but still). I completely missed the whole teething process on that one which I guess is a good thing.  He will occasionally roll from his stomach to his back but he still is much better at back to stomach.  We started him on solids two weeks ago.  I thought he would love it but he just seems indifferent.  He opens his mouth to eat but he's not really enthusiastic about it.  Nursing is a little bit harder only because he gets distracted so easily now.  He just wants to see what's going on all the time.  He can sit up by himself pretty well but still needs someone or a soft surface nearby.  He loves Patty Cake but you have to pry his hands apart after the first clap.  I love just sitting and watching him play.  And I love going out in public with him because here in Small Town, NC all the ladies love him.  I get stopped everywhere I go by people telling me how cute he is and then Liam will just start grinning and talking to them and they eat it up and I love that.  :) I love being his mom and feel so blessed to have gotten such an easy baby to start learning how to be a mom with.  He's such a happy baby so I never have had to experiment with different ways of calming him down or with what I was eating but I still learn new things everyday.  Like on Thurs when I was just going to go into town real quick so I didn't bring a diaper bag because I had just changed his diaper before we left.  And then we get to Food Lion and I pick him up and realize he had a major blowout so I just stuck him back in the car seat and turned around and went back home.  Lesson learned.  Never leave home without the diaper bag.

And now for the pictures (I have some videos too but I need to figure out how to shorten them first because I don't think everyone wants to watch 2 min long videos of my child)

And We're Back....

Here's a quick recap of the last few months:

- I went back to work when Liam was 6 weeks old.  I hated being away from Liam but was so grateful that Will was at home with him and I had an awesome financial advisor that made everything so much easier.
- Will, Liam and I went on a road trip to Tennessee and another one to Georgia to check out some potential jobs for Will.
- Liam got sick at 2.5 months and we had to take him to the ER because he had a fever of 101.4  He was diagnosed with RSV.  That was one of the hardest experiences I've had as a mom so far.
- We went to Utah for Will's grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary.  I met a lot of Will's family and Will and I got to go to the Sat. morning conference session - a first for both of us.
- Will got a job in a town called Elizabethtown in NC.  It's about 2 hrs from Raleigh and it is SMALL.
- We moved out of my parents' house to White Lake, NC.  It's even smaller than Elizabethtown.  But we live on the lake.   For fun Liam and I go into town to go the Wal-Mart and the grocery store.  Come play with us please.

And a little bit about Liam:

-He's almost 5 months old.  How did that happen?
-Everyone says he's a big baby but at his 4 month check up he was 55% for height and weight and 50% for head circumference - so he seems average.
-For the most part he's a really happy baby.  He fusses when he's tired, hungry or gassy.
-He started rolling from back to stomach right at 4 months.  He ends up doing a lot more tummy time this way.
-He's a talker.  He wakes me up every morning with his talking and I just lay in bed and listen to him carry on about who knows what.
-I think he's more of a daddy's boy. Will can always get him to laugh the hardest and he just lights up when Will gets home from work.
