Mary Poppins and a Puppy

Deciding on a Halloween costume is always a lot of fun.  From early on, Hailey knew exactly what she was going to be.....Mary Poppins.  It all started this summer when we watched a play in West Yellowstone.  She had fun shopping with me at Goodwill looking for all the right components for her costume.  Sydney, who chances her mind often and usually requests rather odd costumes, decided on a puppy.  I'm actually surprised we haven't been a puppy before now....it has been her favorite animals since she was very small.

We started Halloween day at the Melby's celebrating Taryn's 1st birthday.  After that, we got dressed up and headed for Barb and Mike's house.  This has become a family tradition.  Heading to Mansion Hights for pretrick-or-treating festivities.

After that, we met up with some of the girls friends down in Maloney Ranch and did some trick-or-treating with them.  The girls also went through a haunted house a few times.  Lastly we trick-or-treated on our street....which is always fun and they get way to much candy from our neighbors.

Our sweet girls all dressed up for Halloween.

Both girls costumes turned out great....they were really happy with them and both got lots of compliments. I really do enjoy making them!

 Getting ready to head out.

Sydney insisted on Kevin walking her....hence the leash.

 and their off......

All smiles after getting a full sized candy bar.

 Too much candy!

Let the sorting begin.  They can and did do this for hours.  We let the girls choose 20 pieces to keep and the rest went to the dentist to be weighed.  They got $1 per pound and make $10 to split.  The candy was then sent to the troops in Iraq.

Pumpkin Carving

Another fall favorite for the girls is carving pumpkins.  Of course, they picked out the largest, thickest pumpkins they could find.  They each scooped, cleaned, designed and carved their own pumpkin this year (with a little help of course).  Hailey's face was made up of fun shapes, while Sydney chose to make her pumpkin into a puppy.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

One of my favorite things to take pictures of is the girls at the pumpkin patch.  Last year we missed it and this year I am making up for it.  Lots of pictures of these sweet girls with pumpkins.  Happy Fall Y'all!
