San Diego Part 1

We decided to plan a trip for our family, and San Diego sounded about as good as any:  beautiful weather and lots to do!  We were fortunate to be able to pull Hailey from a few days of school and take off for 5 fun filled days.

We stayed at a hotel in Downtown San Diego.  From there we could walk to most places or jump on a bus.  Our first stop was the Children's Museum on San Diego.  The girls had a good time, but there wasn't much to do, so we didn't spend long.

 Climbing the ropes.

This was probably the coolest part of the museum...the climbing stuff.

 Making clay creations with Daddy.

Our little monkey.

On day 2 we hit the San Diego Zoo.  Zoos are always a lot of fun and there is so much to see.  Hailey's favorite animal is the panda, which of course is the most popular animal at the zoo.  We decided to go them first.  We made our way around the whole zoo....several times.  Thank goodness for shuttle buses.  The San Diego Zoo is hilly.

Up bright and early and at the Zoo.

 There he is....the momma Panda.

 Hailey couldn't wait to see!

 Zebras.

Hailey was reading us the book about how the polar bears came to the zoo.  Their Momma was killed and they babies were found alone.  The two cubes were brought to San Diego.

 Group shot.

Having fun in the polar play area.

Another one of our favorite animals at the zoo were the Koalas.  They were a lot smaller than I expected.  They had tons of them....probably 30.  At least one in every tree.  They were so cute!

Keep posted for more San Diego fun....Hopefully I'll get them on here sooner than later.

Halloween 2014

Halloween was a blast this year.  Both girls knew exactly what they wanted to be.  Sydney knew for months she would be a donut and Mommy was secretly thinking about how I could get her to change her mind.  Hailey thought a clown would be perfect for her.

Hailey had a really fun time in her classroom Halloween party.  They are snacks and visited with friends.  They even stood up and showed their whole classroom their costume.  Hailey's was a hit.

Halloween night started at the Platte's house.....7th year in a row.  Always a fun tradition.  We visited and then took off for the streets.  Lots of candy!

We then headed for home and did some more trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  The girls love visiting out street and surprising all the neighbors.

Hanging out with our cousins on Halloween.

Love the excitement on her face....such a joy!

The Color Run

We had a blast the last time our family took part in a color run.  This time around the walk/run was in town and on the U of M Campus.  The Finks also did the race with us, which was lots of fun for the girls.

Both girls walked/ran the entire way without any tears.  Both loved walking through the color stations and being completely covered in colored chalk.   Hailey and Sydney both sported white tutu's, sunglasses, and headbands.

I think this is one event we'll continue to do each year.  Lots of fun to take part in and definitely lots of fun for the girls.

Our family all clean prior to the run.

 Sydney was ready to go!

 .....and Hailey too!

Hanging with Brooke at the start line.

 Popping bubble with Daddy.

 And they are off!

 The gang....minus me of course.

Going through the YELLOW color station.

 Too much purple.

Some after run festivities.  The girls had fun trying to catch packets of color.

A final look at the girls after the race!
