Happy Birthday to Myles!! 3 Years Old!

Happy Birthday to my Baby Guy!!! I can't believe he's 3!!
His birthday was really special this year. We had lots of festivities planned.

Our first stop (at 6:30am) was McDonald's. We didn't go for the food. Myles wanted to go for the slide! :) So we made it a breakfast thing. It was a lot of fun though and he loved eating his cold cereal (that we brought), then sliding.

Our biggest activity planned was our ride on the Polar Express train. Ely (the town we live in) has regular train rides year round. We hadn't gone yet cause they are kinda spendy, but Myles has been waiting and waiting. So what better way to spend his birthday?

Santa came to visit us when we reached the "North Pole."

Wyn really gave it to Santa. But he deserved it! He plucked her out of my arms and said, "Every baby needs a screaming picture with Santa!" It was funny though that he actually pulled away from her scream. And I'm just back there grinning like a goose. Nice mom, huh?! :)

Above is Myles showing me his bell that he got on the train.

Myles and Grandpa Ludwig riding the train. The train ride was super cute. They had people come out and serve us hot chocolate (which ended up in my lap! :)) and cookies, and they had a cute little conductor man that would come around and punch our tickets just like in the movie. I'm so glad we went!

Above is Myles and his cute, new bathrobe from Grandma Baird. She got him a matching puppy puppet and book to go with it. Myles usually wants me to put on the bathrobe, but he looks so much cuter in it! :)

Myles had a small birthday part with our good friends the Walkers and Grandma and Grandpa Ludwig. He woke up like minutes before they all got there so he was pretty darn loopy and groggy while opening presents.

This was Myles' face while we were all singing to him. A little confused maybe? I'm not sure! And to the right of him is the Walker family. We just love them and are SO glad they live in Ely too! Myles adores them all and named many things after them (his toes!??? Weirdo!). And according to Myles every present at the party was from the Walkers, and I never correct him cause why not let him love them that much more?! :)

This was the train cake before it was clothed with frosting and candy.

And here is the finished train cake. This was my baby. And Kenny was so good about letting me just do it. I know that sounds dumb, but for some reason it's hard for us to share cake decorating. I found this cake design on bakedecoratecelebrate.com. We have come to love that site.

Anyway, it was a fun day for all! Happy Birthday to my sweet Myles Man!!

Salt Lake and Christmas Lights!!

We went to Salt Lake over the first weekend in December. I really wanted to go take the kids to the Temple Square lights and then of course to go shopping! :)
We went to a mall in SLC and they had this cute little train riding around the mall. Myles was in love, so we all took a ride!

We rode right behind the engine in the coal car. It was kinda funny riding around the mall, but it was fun. Here's a pic of us all crunched together in the coal car.

Lights on Temple Square!!! It was so fun to go see them!! It was so cold too!!

Myles and Daddy

Myles and Mommy.

We stayed the night and I got to go through a session at the Salt Lake temple. That was my first time at that temple. It was so incredible! The temple is so beautiful! I can't believe it's so old. It was a great trip!! I love my family and our fun memories we're making together!

Thanksgiving! We actually made a turkey!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! This year was lots of fun and stress! We actually made a real turkey!! No more chicken nuggets!! Thanks Kenny for letting me try!!!
The turkey came out great despite the top being a tiny bit burntbecause of Alton Brown's directions! Actually, I shouldn't blame Alton. It was probably our oven. Of course we completely forgot to take a picture of the turkey. Darn it!
That top picture is one that Myles took on Thanksgiving Day. He's way into taking pictures right now. It's part of our backyard.

Wyn and Myles, both, wanted to help make the rolls. Wyn didn't believe in using a measuring cup.

Then she just had to try the flour.

Myles used the measuring cup like a good little chef.

I was a little stressed by the end of the day. Partly because I was taking some of our dinner to a friend who just had a baby, and cooking for people is always nerve racking to me. Also, because I was just so tired of cooking! It was so fun, but definitely tiring! Anyway, I left to take my friend the food and I came back to the kitchen all cleaned up and the table set all cute. Kenny is so good to me!

And yes, Myles ate in his underwear and Wyn in her nakedness. We're super fancy like that! Kenny and I were fully clothed, we're just invisible in that picture though. :)

Wyn liking her dinner! She's an adventurous eater. I love it!!

Me and Wynni Boo. Not a great pic of me, but Wyn is so cute I had to add it in.

Thanksgiving was a success except that I felt sick all day long and then threw up at 10:30 pm that night. I think it was from something I had eaten the day before. After all that though I told Kenny I was so sick of Thanksgiving and I never wanted to cook another turkey. I shouldn't have said that cause that may have put me back to cooking chicken nuggets! :)

Kenny turns 29!!

Kenny turned 29 on November 15th. Yay for birthdays!! It was a fun day! He came to Young Women in Excellence with me, then stayed at the church to play some basketball with friends. His favorite cake is white with rainbow chip frosting, so that made things super easy!

I just love this pic of him and Myles. Myles has gotten really into birthdays this year.

Happy Birthday to my awesome husband!!! I love you!

Trunk-or-treating

Halloween was so much fun this year! Literally an hour before we left for the trunk-or-treat Myles finally told us that he wanted to dress up as a train. We had no costume for him because up until that point whenever we asked him what he wanted to be he would say, "I just wanna be Myles." So we didn't push the issue. So without a train costume on hand, Kenny went to the garage and found an old huggies box and spray paint. Kenny is amazing! He created a train costume for Myles, dressed up himself, and got us to the trunk-or-treat on time.

Myles loved his costume and actually wore it. It was a big deal for him. :) All the candy he got he would put in the smoke stack. It was so cute. He wouldn't really say "trick-or-treat" just "please."

Here's little Wyn as an itsy bitsy spider.

Kenny dressed up as a maintenance business analyst.

Just kidding, that's his job at work. Kenny really dressed up as a nerd.

The hottest nerd I've ever seen! :)

Daddy and Wyn.

Daddy the nerd, Mommy the Cheerleader, Myles the train, and Wynni the Spider.

Such a fun night!! Loved it!

p.s. Before we left for the trunk-or-treat Myles kept asking us "What are you gonna be mommy? What are you gonna be daddy?" Whenever we answered him he'd laugh hysterically. Then once I asked him what he was gonna be (and it was before his train costume was done and he'd just put on his orange sweatshirt) and he said, "A sweater!" I laughed pretty hard. :)

Carving a Pumpkin and Haunted Houses

We were a little late this year, but the day before Halloween we finally carved Myles' pumpkin. When Kenny got the knife out Myles said, "Don't hurt my pumpkin!" He was just quoting a Little Critters book that we've been reading a lot in preparation for Halloween.
He decided on the face and he even ate roasted pumpkins seeds with me.

And before we carved Myles' pumpkin we made our Haunted Houses.
We decided to do it while Wyn was asleep so she wouldn't want the candy. She's got her mommy's sweet tooth! :)

Mommy's haunted house.

Myles's haunted house.

He's getting so good at smiling for the camera.

I love it!

Daddy's haunted house.

Yay for Fall fun!!

Happy Birthday Wynni Boo!!

My little darling girl turned one on the 25th! I just can't believe it. This year has flown by. It makes me excited and sad at the same time. Time always seems to fly by when you don't want it to.

Some things about Wyn:

*She is a very pleasant baby. Always has been.

*She started sleeping through the night at 6 months all on her own!

*Crawls and stands like crazy and sometimes stands all by herself, but no walking yet.

*She loves bananas, grapes, and cream cheese! Oh, and sippy cups!

*She is a great eater and will usually try new foods if I'm holding her, but is not so interested while she's sitting in her high chair.

*She's a peanut! She started out to be a bigger baby, but we have quickly found out that she is just meant to be little. She weighed 16 lbs. 9 oz. a few weeks ago.

*She has always been good about nursing, but doesn't eat as much as her brother did. That threw me off a bit in the beginning.

*She, like Myles, had an allergy to dairy products for about the first 9 months, but now she loves them!!

*She loves any toys that have a face.

*She loves to share her food (even if you don't want to.)

*Her first word was, "Dada." Followed a couple days later by "Mama."

*She adores Myles.

*She prefers to be held by Mommy than any other person, but loves looking at her Daddy from Mommy's arms. :)

*As of right now, she has 8 teeth. Teething has not been so pleasant with her.

*She likes to dance, especially when Myles, Mommy, and Daddy are dancing too.

*She LOVES jewelry and knows how to put it on. She has stacking rings that she doesn't stack, but she puts them on as bracelets! :)

We love our Wynni Boo!

Wyn's first legal cupcake.

She snuck a bite of one a couple months ago.
She's our little ladybug. That's why we made her ladybug cupcakes.
