Ellie's 9th B-day

We had a "craft day" and made
popsicle stick boxes, painted a ceramic thingy,
and made friendship bracelets.
Everyone could invite one friend. Too bad for
Noah because all of his friends have
moved or were out of town.

Now for Ellie's 9th B-day!!

The famous spanking machine

Opening presents

For Ellie's B-day she wanted crepes, go see "Up",
get her nails done, go swimming, go to the mini grand prix,
and go to P.F. Changs.
She has been planning her B-day since the day after
her last b-day. Every time she'd get a new idea about
what she wanted to do on her b-day I'd just say "UmHm. Sure."
Knowing she'd forget and come up with a new plan in another
month. Well, Ellie got her plan and kept adding to it.
We had to downsize and this is what we ended up
with:
Open gifts (At the crack of dawn no doubt.
She wouldn't even let me go running that day.
Who does she think she is??)
Eat crepes
Go see "Up"
Go swimming
Have a BBQ
Eat cake and ice cream

I thought it was fun and I think she did too.

Happy 9th Ellie!!
We're so glad you're in our family!!

Ellie

I've been working with Noah on his swimming
this last week. We've been swimming at Matt and
Samantha's so I've been able to put the babies down for a nap
so I could focus on the other kids. I finally told Noah that if
he'd put his face in the water he would be able to move forward.
He did it and started swimming. YA!!! He would even
jump in the water and swim back to the side.

From the looks of the cake you'd think she was
turning 80!

Simple but yummy cake

Love those eyes!

Grandma Joan came down and was a huge help with the
twins.  She came to see Harrison get the Priesthood but
lucky for me she stayed with me.  Little did
she know that the twins would be sick with the flu
the whole time.  But she was awesome and helped clean
puke, overflowing diapers, and helped give babies Tylenol.
What a FUN weekend.

We're getting a lot of use out if this wig.
  My kids think it's hilarious.

Brynlee would dance to this every time
we turned it on.  She was even sick with
the flu but couldn't resist the head shake.

The Library Nazi

Yesterday I thought I'd be a good mom and took my kids to the library to sign them up for the Summer Reading Program.  On my way there I called my sisters and asked if they knew of any good books that I should check out.  I got ahold of Brooke but not Nicole so I took my phone in to the library hoping she would call me back while I was there so I could get her suggestion.

I got into the library when my phone started ringing.  Now, my phone is getting pretty old and the ringer won't turn down so it was pretty loud and I couldn't find it so it rang quite a few times.  But, I was on a mission so I found it and answered.  The thought did cross my mind that I probably shouldn't answer while in the library but like I said... I wanted a good book to read.  As I answered I saw out of the corner of my eye a security guard.  I ignored her and just walked past her.  I got right to the point and asked Nicole for the name of a good book when the security guard walked right up to me and told me to get off the phone.  (Not very politely either, I might add)  I acknowledged her and let her know that I would get off.  So I told Nicole that I just got in trouble and needed to get off when she followed me in to the next aisle and told me again to get off the phone.  I took the phone off my ear and told her that I was but just wanted to get the name of a book.  (That was a good enough reason to be on the cell phone in a library... Right??)  She then rolled her neck and said "MmmmHmmmm".  (Did I mention that she is a big black woman??  Just thought you could imagine the "roll of the neck" better if you knew that.)  So I looked at her questioningly like "Are you really treating me as if I'm lying???" Then I told her again that I was getting off the phone.  And she said "Yeah.  Uh huh."  I just could NOT keep my mouth shut and asked  "Are you really treating me like you are my mother???  And she said "I will if you're going to act like a child."
WHAT???
That got me all fired up.  I just couldn't believe that she was calling me a lier... and a CHILD!!  She then told me that if I needed to talk on the phone I needed to go out in the hall.  So I told her again that I was getting off the phone.  And she said again (with a roll of her neck) MmmmHmmm.
That's when I decided to be mature
and copied her with a roll of the neck of my own and a
"MmmmHmmm."
That sure showed her!! ..... didn't it??

I was successful with getting the name of the book but was so flustered after that encounter that I totally forgot to get it.  Maybe next time.

Las Vegas kids triathlon

There are a LOT of pictures but I just couldn't help it.  We are so proud of these girls.  It was an unusual day with it being only 59 degrees.  CRAZY!! I know especially in June.  The girls were freezing before the race hanging out just in their skimpies and were aware that the water would NOT be very warm if not pure icy.  Luckily the water was heated so the swim wasn't too cold but getting out of the water and biking then running was a little more than they wanted to do at 8 in the AM.  They did AWESOME though.

Before the race.  Cute and smiling.

Hanging out with our good friends, Preston and Riley.

Abbie waiting her turn.

Ellie waiting her turn.

Ellie tearing it up.

She's in the zone

Abbie doing such a good job

Transition

Abbie had a major side ache and felt like she was going to puke
but still finished.  WAY TO GO !!!

She was shaking all over after the race.
